You ever call in sick? I gotta say working front end is the worst job of the store. Talk about overworked and underpaid. Constant people, constant jackasses about no it said buy one get a $5 dollar gift card. No, I checked, zapped the item twice to check for them, red card screen comes up. Don’t believe me, GSTL tells them exact same thing cause that is the truth, buy two of this, get a $5 gift card. Holly snaps man, it’s so hard for these crack people to believe the truth, especially when they don’t read that small print.

My first complaint is having two days sliced off my schedule because “we’re not making sales but September will be better.” September rolled around and instead of giving veteran workers more hours, they hired a ton of new guys. Our hours still aren’t up. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have us work longer and NOT hire new people? I’ve been working with Target off and on since 2006. When I went to college and came back, there was no reward for higher education, only “starting wage”. I never saw a raise. Ever.

I am so FUCKING sick of this place.
My TL is the biggest bitch and I am over it. As of today I decided that I am quitting in exactly 30 days. If I didn’t need the money and time to look for another job, I would have quit today.
1.) The second I get into work as usual, my TL books it for her lunch. Her boyfriend was waiting in the Starbucks lobby to go on lunch with her. An hour after she leaves for her lunch, I’m wondering where she went and ask another girl in the area if she has seen her. The first question I am asked, “Is her boyfriend here?” Apparently its NORMAL for this bitch to take hour long PLUS lunches when he’s in the store? Yet she gets all snarky if someone is even a minute late from their lunch?

Worked in the backroom. Rather ehem warehouse.
Who the hell is in charge in these places? Nobody is a manager, assistant manager, dept manager like NORMAL stores.
No you have ETL, LOD, TL, whatever. Theres no picture of the manager or management team on the wall, so who the hell knows!
Everyone has a radio…you know so they can harass the cashiers about red cards that customers don’t want to be asked about in the first place!!!, GO Team GO bullshit motivational speeches, and generally ANNOY their guests with loud and obnoxious feedback and echo from 10 radios within earshot.

I just want to say that I couldn’t even make it past the 90 day period for working for this awful company. Between being walked over by my managers and the “Guests”, I had finally had enough and have moved on.
I started working for my store in early June and at first, I rolled along with it. I’m a recent college grad, got bills to pay and it was a short walk from my apartment. Seemed ideal. But I let the company know that I am only here to make payments and that I will probably be here no longer than a year. Sure enough, I only worked 4 months because of these awful circumstances. Today marks the end of the 90 day period and I couldn’t make it past that.
Anyone who can work at this store for more than a year has my absolute sympathy because I couldn’t handle the stress and depression I had from working here for 3 months.

So apparently from what I’ve been hearing our old HR was trying to do whatever it took to bring everyone down along with her. She got “transferred” to another store. Hmmm I wonder why? And don’t give me that bullshit about: oh they get rotated every 18 months. MY ASS!
Ive been here longer than that and so had she. So that’s bullshit “she got transferred cause of rotation” yeah whatever! So we NEVER got our best team survey results as we usually do every year. Hmmmmm I wonder why? Oh I know, cause it sucked for all the ETL’s cause this year we all wrote exactly how we felt and didn’t hold anything back. Personally I think it’s bullshit that we didnt see the results.
Im telling you this store is the worse store to work at in a lot if levels. All these stupid ETL’s think they rule the world. There has to be something that we can all do as individuals to once and for all bring this shit to an end.
T1846 you all need to be replaced, maybe even tear the damn building down. It’s so ridiculous and the morale here is still in the shits! I hate this store everyone is unhappy as far as team members and we all HATE our job better yet we hate this store!

Hello peeps, i came across this site as i was googling how people felt about working in target. I decided to post here cause im 1 year into this and im starting to dislike it. it starts like this. i was hired as a seasonal member during october of 2012 and i knew i could be terminated by january after the holidays. since i needed a job badly i started talking to a few ppl and was told to cross train to different areas to give the impression i was interested in staying.. so i did. I cross trained to planogram softlines, PTM, and some backroom, i knew hardlines, and cashiering and thoughout my seasonal time there i worked all those areas. surely in january i was offered a regular position and i was happy lol. in april they started reviews but i wasnt expecting much since i was still relatively new. one of the hardline TLs made my review (who i didnt really work with) and she started off by saying my review was tricky because i was still relatively new then she continued on to say i was a reliable member always coming in to work, picking up hrs, coming in when they needed me etc. then she burst my bubble by saying i got an IE rating (inefficiently something…)

So I am still within my 90 days and today I went in after calling out with the flu the other day. (Thanks, Target for pretty much bullying me into getting one of your flu shots by the way!) The day I call out, my TL calls me wanting me to switch shifts for today. I didn’t answer because in my opinion vomiting while on the phone is rude. Then again, she would have deserved it. The next day, one of my days off, I call in and let her know that sure, I’ll switch my closing shift for an opening shift.
When I get to work today, still feeling nauseated and just full of ickiness, I find out that this dumb blonde TL didn’t freaking schedule ANYONE else. There isn’t a single person in the store who can cover any of my breaks or lunch. Oh, and that there was a good chance they would need me to work 7:30a-9:30p. I’m like “Uhh no, go fuck yourself.” But politely, of course.

Next Tuesday, I will walk out of Target for the last time. Upon arriving home, I will throw out all 4 red shirts, the sweater I never wore, my one pair of khakis, my nametag, and 4 of 5 box cutters. Oh yea and my old New Balances that I wore almost every day.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have a target on my back than have Target on my back. It’s time for a new stage of life.
No more CAFs, no more backstocking, no more -10 degree freezer, no more lazy teammates, no more stupid “guests,” no more vibing, no more ETLs telling me how to do a job that they’ve never done, no more ETLs talking to grown men and women like children.

I work at a Target and well quite frankly I now hate my job. I have worked as a cashier for over 3 years, my first 2 reviews were E-Effective, my current review is a IE- Inconsistently Effective. Now I ask, WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN? I have a new GSTL and ETL-GE, they see me maybe an hour or so a week. How can they adequately grade my performance on that? Well I complained, and what I got back was basically them saying they don’t like my attitude, well yea I AM UPSET sorry that you pissed me off.
I of course was much nicer when I talked to them about it.
It is now causing me anxiety, depression, stress hives, etc.
