How do I hate thee, let me count the ways
Target corporate, I hate thee because:
1. I spend too much time thinking, worrying and perseverating over a job that does not, think, worry or care a shred for any of its employees.

(6) Hello everyone, I am Alex who worked at a Target.
I was hired during the summer of 2015 and when the hiring manager asked me my availability I said “Open to close, but once school starts my hours will need to be cut”. Sadly the hiring LOD had wax in her ears when I said this.
Likes(40)Dislikes(24) I’m a back room team member at our location. Recently I came in to close, not knowing what I was walking in to. The TL tells me as he’s about to clock out: “Oh yeah, check for online orders would ya?” I look and there’s 8 orders, as much as 4 hours overdue.
Likes(45)Dislikes(10) So I’ve been with target for 2 months now, and this is what I’ve gotten so far. I work as cart attendant and rarely as cashier. I love being outside doing carts(if it wasn’t so hot out). But every time i get one side caught up and the other side is completely empty, our LOD asks me to cover a couple of breaks. So when i’m done with that and i go back out to do carts, 5 minutes into it, i get a call on the walkie saying “cart attendant, we have no carts on blue side”. and I can’t say anything back to them except “that’s clear”. It’s like they’re completely oblivious as to why they have none. That, and now they have me come in from 1-5pm almost everyday except Sunday(i close), so from 8am-1pm no one is getting carts. SO when i come in, we have none and i get a “talking to” that i need to start hustling to get the carts in.
My two supervisors, who are the worst people ever, can never be found on the front lanes like they have to be.

Not only is it one of the most popular target stores where I live but the target is located in one of the wealthiest areas and its surrounded by large corporate company’s. I despise my job. Not only do I have the most rudest customers but also the most annoying customers. Taking orders for these professional mom’s that come in with there kids after their morning jog is absolutely annoying, they treat you like shit and talk to you even worse but I have to say the worst are the corporate big shots. I’ll say “Hi can I take you order” and they don’t even acknowledge me, they just start ordering their drink and don’t even look at me, They just stare off into space. To top it off my ETL is a major cunt.

Now, I’ve been working retail for many years and aside from some general annoyances, I’ve enjoyed it. 3 months ago I was hired as a Starbucks Barista. Let the venting commence in no particular order.
Likes(48)Dislikes(16) I started working for target on the 5th of November. This is my very first job. I really did not need a job but I needed the experience. I am studying to become a Registered Nurse and later a CRNA. My first day was great because I had 2 wonderful ladies training me. However, the other 2 are just plain HORRIBLE. They are rude and look at me like I don’t know a thing. The 2 wonderful women that trained me were impressed as how fast I learned everything because of the fact that I never in my life cashiered. Anyway, those two are just plain rude and evil. They talk about employees that work under them like they’re worthless and scum.
Likes(35)Dislikes(13) Apparently HR department in the store expects you to do their job as I have stated before. No follow up, when I requested a follow up call from the hr manager. Pretty soon within the next month I will make a post talking about the store I was working at and the games they liked to play with people.
Likes(3)Dislikes(0) I work at Target #1431 in Falls Church, VA. I’ve been there for 3 years this August, and at this point, I’ve been here longer than every ETL. When I first started, the job was actually ok. Most of the ETLs had been with the store since it opened a decade or so ago. They knew what they were doing. You still hated them because they had that stupid arrogance about them, being ETLs and all, but they didn’t treat you like shit and we got work done. Over the past 3 years, one by one or two by two, they’ve all gone. Some of the spots have been replaced more than once. I don’t like a single one of the ETLs who are there now. The men are barely catching on to how the business works, and while the women are gorgeous, that’s about all they bring to the table. Sometimes I wonder what kind of shady things they had to do to get their job…
