I’m in my last 7 days
Next Tuesday, I will walk out of Target for the last time. Upon arriving home, I will throw out all 4 red shirts, the sweater I never wore, my one pair of khakis, my nametag, and 4 of 5 box cutters. Oh yea and my old New Balances that I wore almost every day.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have a target on my back than have Target on my back. It’s time for a new stage of life.
No more CAFs, no more backstocking, no more -10 degree freezer, no more lazy teammates, no more stupid “guests,” no more vibing, no more ETLs telling me how to do a job that they’ve never done, no more ETLs talking to grown men and women like children.
No more of any of that stuff! Target is so over-standardized that anybody who can read and write English could succeed in any position. It’s a make work job where free thinking and asking questions is looked down upon. People who work hard are shitted on and the people who have friends in management get it nice and easy no matter how much of a shitty job they do.
Being the nice guy I am, I put in my two week notice. They keep asking me to come in early, stay late, or come in when I’m not scheduled at all. One more of those and I might just walk, but I’m still there for now. I love how the HR guy keeps asking me if I want to take back my notice. They know they’re losing a heavy hitter. I love the feeling of depriving this god-awful company of a good worker. I’ll admit I wasn’t the best employee though.
My God, next Tuesday can’t come fast enough!

People keep telling me that maybe my store is the one with these problems, but when I see people post stuff like this I have a hard time believing that.
And yeah, our new Logistics ETL just graduated from college and Target is his first job. My coworker told me that graduating from college gets you a "I don't have to put up with your shit" degree, which rings true more now than ever.
Best of luck to you and congrats on escaping Target! (Well, come Tuesday anyways).
*the only one. I can English.
Same way at my store. Guests keep being bitchy about coupons when they obviously don't have what it says, 3 packs of always, not 1 big one. Dumb asses. Seriously, the job is easy, yes, but all that always ask for red cards crap, asking for change and never getting it until a whole half hour later, guest pays with $100 bill, oops, not enough change in drawer, well duh, it's the GSTLs job to get it to you, if she didn't, you can screw her and tell her how bad she is because you have the evidence right there. They get mad about how you hit bad on them about it. Hmm, than how come I don't get pissed off when you tell me I did something slow or wrong? Idiots after idiots. I have a college degree for retail managment, I mine as well ask for the papers and meetings with LODs to become a team leader for front lanes.
My count starts in one month..and Im going to feel the same way as you...cant wait! :))))
COngrats!!
