Ever had a ETL ride your teams ass?

So I’ve been working at this specific store for almost a full year, I was hired in from being only seasonal during our Back To School season and at the start it was everything I wanted in a job to support me through college.

Locked in Target store overnight, fired next day

So there’s something that doesn’t happen everyday. I just started working backroom about a month ago, and I was closing today, which meant I had to make bales (apparently no one except backroom is trained to throw cardboard into the baler so I had like 7 cages just overflowing with the stuff) and I needed to set the line. Today had not been a normal day.

    New schedule-maker sucks

We have a sort-of-new ETL, who has picked up the schedule-making for the front end, since the previous one has moved to back room. Whatever, we all figured she couldn’t be as bad as the last one. Oh god, were we wrong.

  • I have a team lead position in AP, and been with Target for 3 years. I have my bachelors degree and tons of experience.  Since Ive been with Target id say 90% of the new ETL’s that are hired are from outside the company and there ages range from 22-25, with most of them this being their first FT career. Has anyone else noticed that if you’re a TL you’re basically stuck in that position. They set unrealistic exceptions for you to get to a “ETL” level, yet all these new hires don’t have to prove shit. Oh and who can forget about shity .50 – .75 cent yearly raises, but yet ETL bonuses are 3k plus, not including their raises, and they are always eating meals from restaurants nearby. basically IMO, if you’re not an ETL at Target, you’re stuck at your position and fucked.

    Final Days of Tarshit

Let me just start by saying if you read my earlier posts on this site, I really didn’t hate any higher ups. In fact, I looked up to them and one day wanted to be them. When I first read this site,  I couldn’t imagine how any managers or workers could be so awful to all of you. And I’m so sorry for doubting you guys. Today I think is the day I’m job hunting. It’s been a long seven months and I’ve watched my brand new target go from something I was so proud to be a part of to something only nightmares could conjur up. Over the past few months, my STL has become a prick. Honestly, I feel like everyone higher up actually. But the funny thing is, they’re only pricks to MY team. I don’t get why instocks has to be the bitch of the store and take on the workload of so many teams, but we do. And of course they’ll be the hardest on the trainer right? Guess who that would be. Me. When the TL isn’t around, ohhhhh they come to me.

  • Whenever the data breach happened, our ETLs went completely crazy. You couldn’t turn on a walkie without hearing “WHERE ARE WE AT ON REDCARDS?!”

Obviously people put up with it. They had to. But I decided I didn’t want to anymore. So a really bitchy ETL came over the walkie and was asking Electronics why we haven’t gotten any redcards. This is where shit went down.

    okay so

I work as a barista in target starbuck’s. Not only is it one of the most popular target stores where I live but the target is located in one of the wealthiest areas and its surrounded by large corporate company’s. I despise my job. Not only do I have the most rudest customers but also the most annoying customers. Taking orders for these professional mom’s that come in with there kids after their morning jog is absolutely annoying, they treat you like shit and talk to you even worse but I have to say the worst are the corporate big shots. I’ll say “Hi can I take you order” and they don’t even acknowledge me, they just start ordering their drink and don’t even look at me, They just stare off into space. To top it off my ETL is a major cunt.

    My worst nightmare!

I started working for target on the 5th of November. This is my very first job. I really did not need a job but I needed the experience. I am studying to become a Registered Nurse and later a CRNA. My first day was great because I had 2 wonderful ladies training me. However, the other 2 are just plain HORRIBLE. They are rude and look at me like I don’t know a thing. The 2 wonderful women that trained me were impressed as how fast I learned everything because of the fact that I never in my life cashiered. Anyway, those two are just plain rude and evil. They talk about employees that work under them like they’re worthless and scum.

  • This app that Corporate has come out with is finally where I have to add a post to this site.

It’s one thing if you’re at a register, the Electronics boat, the Deli/Bakery counter in a Super Target, or you’re assisting a guest—it’s another when Corporate apparently tells the ETL’s that team members have to take an hour out of their shift to walk their area and educate guests about Cartwheel. Because guests of course want to be harassed as they shop and a “Can I Help You Find Something?” isn’t enough these days. Just like the push on Red Cards prompted guests having to be approached at random and educated about the 5% savings, free shipping, extra 30 days on returns while they were on the salesfloor and it clearly couldn’t wait until they reached the front lanes.

    OVER LOOKED AGAIN!!!!

So I have been over looked again for a TL spot in my store and I getting sick of it. It seems as if your not white then your not rite in my store. There is only one black TL and ETL in my whole store they should say something. I have been at my store for 1year and 7months and still not spot for me. Its always well you need more work, or the time is not rite and last my favorite you need to be more global. WTF I work in Electronics I get guest that come in talk to my TL’s and ETL’s and write to district about me but still nothing and this happens on a all the time bases. I don’t get how much work I have to do. They treat me like a Slave once again I guess that’s ok becuz I’m BLACK, I’m way under paid and My AAR scores alone are the best in my region. What more do you need so weak ass RedCards no body wants? I’m so sick of this place. I get store Mangers for different company’s that come to my store that beg me to leave mine and be a Manger at theirs. Why in the HELL do I said No? Maybe becuz I feel like I can help the team out so they can feel better about what they do or maybe I’m slow. Idk anymore I just want what is supposed to happen when for show hard work for a store that’s HATES BLACKS. So should I just switch stores and see what happens? or Stay and get Over Looked Again? or Say Skip It and Leave? what you guys think?
