Hello, all! I’ve been an employee at Target for over two years and I’m ready to move on. I started out as a seasonal cashier in 2017, and I worked in that position for about a year before I started working at guest service.
Although it has very strong competition, guest service is arguably the worst department in the whole store.

(3) Before I get started here’s some background on myself. I’m a very loyal employee. I don’t just quit, I always give notice. I have always worked at a place longer than 3 years. Not Target though. See, I got hired and at orientation they bragged about the atmosphere of Target being a great place to work. Now being in retail for 11+ years I should’ve know what a farce that was, but I digress. I have never seen such awful management.
So I am the type of person that gives everyone a chance. I mean everybody is entitled to a bad day and I just don’t base opinions on rumors and first impressions. But my God.
Likes(38)Dislikes(12) I’ve been working as a Cart Attendant at Target for the summer. It’s been pretty good, but today I had the misfortune of working under a very grouchy GSTL who verbally berated me for the silliest, most immature reason you could ever possibly think of. Here’s what happened.
Likes(28)Dislikes(8) Got hired, hate it. Can’t switch positions or to another Target because I’m under that insanely stupid 90-day policy that only benefits Target. Looking into quitting before I can fulfil the 90 days.. sure, I’ll taint my name, but it’s gotten so bad that I don’t care anymore.
Likes(51)Dislikes(32) I’ve been working at target fr a couple of months now as a cashier i’ve passed my 90 days and from the start have gotten the most redcards out of any other cashier, BUT THAT STILL ISNT ENOUGH!!!
Likes(15)Dislikes(16) So I went to visit my old co-workers to introduce them to my newborn son (since I was pregnant while working there), only to discover my favorite team lead was fired a month ago. Why? Because he called out a few times thanks to his injured foot! Target He had an injured foot for many months (I want to say since may be November). They threatened his job if he were to have gone in a wheelchair for whatever reason. Ironically the HR ETL was in one for 6 months because she had a high risk pregnancy in the past!

I became known as the “closer” and got 35-40 hours a week and was pretty content with that. Then I was told that I would become a regular team member.
Likes(42)Dislikes(28) First time posting and let me start off by saying how happy I am to have found the site. I started as a cashier back in October. I was interviewed mid-september when I was given the job on the spot. I loved it at first, target has been one of my favorite stores for the longest time and it still is however I have a newfound outlook on the people who run the store. as soon as I began my cashier position I discovered which GSTL would be my friend and which would be my foe. about4 months into my position I was injured while lifting a pack of water and it ended up pulling my shoulder to the point where I could not cashier anymore.
Likes(21)Dislikes(9) Oh target where do I even start with this awful hatrid. It is now to the point where I dread work and my 50 cent raise above minimum wage doesn’t do jack squat anymore. It all starts when I walk into the office before my shift to get a locker. I open one and it’s full of tuperware, I open another and it has a lunch box. Really?? Is it THAT hard you can’t possibly dig out a quarter and lock your fucking locker? There is a goddammed fridge for a reason also. I then hang up my jacket, which there really is no point because by the end of my shift its always on the floor anyways knocked off by employees who leave it there. I then attempt to punch in and let it beep at me for five hours and then walk onto the floor as cashier. I check to see what lane I’m on and set up my register with the 2 ten dollar bills they give you which run out after one “guest”. I hang my flimsy ass bags that never fail to stick together and end up all over the floor. Before I even have a chance to turn on my lane light I already have a line of people waiting to be checked out screaming “Are you open???” understaffed again I see. I mumble yes, and they start to unload their cart with mulitple of the same item that they will try and use their fake fraudulent $20 dollar off coupons for razors that don’t even match their item.
Likes(108)Dislikes(35) So I’ve been with target for 2 months now, and this is what I’ve gotten so far. I work as cart attendant and rarely as cashier. I love being outside doing carts(if it wasn’t so hot out). But every time i get one side caught up and the other side is completely empty, our LOD asks me to cover a couple of breaks. So when i’m done with that and i go back out to do carts, 5 minutes into it, i get a call on the walkie saying “cart attendant, we have no carts on blue side”. and I can’t say anything back to them except “that’s clear”. It’s like they’re completely oblivious as to why they have none. That, and now they have me come in from 1-5pm almost everyday except Sunday(i close), so from 8am-1pm no one is getting carts. SO when i come in, we have none and i get a “talking to” that i need to start hustling to get the carts in.
My two supervisors, who are the worst people ever, can never be found on the front lanes like they have to be.
