Hey all! New member here. I started back in October as a backroom team member. Prior to my first day, I came across this site. After reading all the posts I thought to myself, “these people are nothing but whiney bitches. They probably just don’t want to work.” Fast forward a couple weeks. I have never been so wrong.

(9) So there’s something that doesn’t happen everyday. I just started working backroom about a month ago, and I was closing today, which meant I had to make bales (apparently no one except backroom is trained to throw cardboard into the baler so I had like 7 cages just overflowing with the stuff) and I needed to set the line. Today had not been a normal day.

I started working at the hell hole that is target at around beginning of July and my God was applying here is a giant mistake. I got called and interviewed and started as a cashier as most of us do and as target does best they hounded me and harassed me to get red cards, breathing over my neck, coaching me, role playing, amongst other bullshit and no your little incentive of Starbucks or little bag of goodies doesn’t make me more compelled to get red cards so fuck off.
Likes(88)Dislikes(22) I started at Target 7 years ago and it wasn’t such a bad job then, I got 40 hours plus over time and was making 600-700 dollar checks. Now I’m working 18 hours and I’m pretty much running around the whole store (my store is two stories by the way) making sure CAFS, EXF, AND RESEARCH batches are being pulled while pulling items out for people on the floor and simultaneously trying to get MyFA’s done. They want you to finish everything within a certain time but they dont have enough equipment or keys for the crown to go around and not enough ladders either. I’m exhausted, I’m stressed out that all this hard work is going to a shitty check that barely covers my rent and bills…

So, about a month ago I got hired at Target for backroom team member, I’ve had the old guard bitching at me how their hours were cut ( basically the management that hired me, are the new guys, the old management was fired for doing a shitty job, all the TL, LOD’s, ETL’s and STL) and they were pissed cause the new management isn’t what they like. So far its going ok, I avoid the bullshit out on the floor cause I’m in the back, busting my balls, kissing ETL & TL ass (although both are great, TL works with us most of the time, and my etl – logistics – she’s really cool, hard worker — up to 60 hours a week, once from 3 am to 5 pm almost never takes lunch or break—-, since she’s got a lot of pressure on her to make sure things are good), anyways to get back —- and never agreeing to go cashier or be crosstrained, fuck that shit, especially after reading the posts on here.
