Most days I can honestly say that I get up in the morning and say to myself, “Today can’t be that bad at work.” Almost everytime I’m proven wrong. I just got in and clocked in and was ready to see what the day had in store for me. Right when I got onto the sales floor, a women ambushed me and demanded to know where the 1 inch binders were. Two things flew through my mind in a second. First, “how the hell should I know?” Second, How convienient, a woman demands something in the first five minutes. not only that, but she probably hasen’t looked for it on her own. I excused myself, and even apologized for not knowing. I should have seen the omen then but things were just going to get worse.

(5) I just finished reading TargetEqualsShell’s comment and it’s like I’m looking in a mirror! I’ve almost been with Target for seven years. I’m at six right now. But the constant flak I take from Team Leads is beyond the pale. I’m originally from New York, okay? When we had jobs over there, people cussed their heads off. Cussing was part of everyday language. Now that I live in the deep south (Hades), I have spent years dumbing down my New York accent and eliminating all cusswords from my everyday vocabulary. I let loose when I get home, but I keep it clean at work.
That’s not my problem. These TLs have such NERVE. They think they actually have legitimate power over our souls!
Likes(13)Dislikes(8) I’ve worked at Target for almost 7 years. I’ve worked hard all that time and my reward is for my hours to be severely cut. Now they have the gall to tell me my productivity is down and that I need to shape up or my raise will be affected. My asshole TL said that other TLs and ETLs have noticed it. BULLSHIT. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen that stupid prick standing around talking about football or some other thing for up to 20 minutes at a time while I’m working my ass off. He usually does it about two or three times a day. I think I know the TLs who “noticed”; one usually wanders around after all his work is done so he can build his hours up to get overtime and the other has only been here about a two months and already seems to think he’s the best person in that store. I’m surprised my ETL can notice me not working since he has his face buried in his cellphone playing some stupid Marvel game all day. And when he’s not doing that, he’s usually talking to another ETL about it. Frankly, I think this is just an excuse to take my hours away and give them to those TLs. A few weeks ago on a Thursday they cut hours from half the people in the Backroom for the following week because those TLs weren’t getting enough hours. At my store if your not a TL or higher, your trash.
Likes(0)Dislikes(1) Two-face managers runs deep in this store. From the front lanes manager to the back of the store manager. All in all they’re all the same nothing differs one from another. The only one that has a good head on his shoulders is the manager of AP. He’s a swell guy with heart.
Everyone else starting with the 26yr old store manager are a bunch of wackos!
Mommy and daddy paid for your awesome career and that’s all good just don’t come into the corporate world thinking you’re better than everyone else especially the ones under you which I’m referring to regular hourly paid team members.
Show a little but if FFF towards your employees maybe then your store can be in better spirits. Just saying.
Likes(1)Dislikes(0) Today I was lucky to escape without getting a severe case of heatstroke. Being a Cart Attendant in the heat can be a near death sentence. Just before lunch I was approached by a customer who asked a very confusing question, “What are your Red Card deals for today?” I honesty don’t know the indoor specials, how could I? I work primarily outside, nevermind that I never get a flyer. So I asked him to clarify his question being confused. The “guest” just rose his voice to me and asked the same thing, except this time he said it one snippit at a time, like I was mentally slow or something. Finally I offered to go get an ad from Guest Service, and look for the answer to his request, although my patience with him was thinning. I had no idea what he wanted from me. The jerk got so mad at me he did it himself and stormed away. I felt guilty for a few minutes, until I realized all he wanted was for me to do his homework for him. Whenever I shop I know exactly what I want, unless I run into an instore special. This is hardly the first time this has happend. Where I work, there is a worsening epidemic of middle aged men embracing laziness and flying off the deep end for little if any reason. Do you guys think I did anything wrong?
Likes(5)Dislikes(0) Today was my third week of working for Target. Today was also the day that an ETL made me cry. He is the biggest scum bag I have ever met. Yesterday I worked 6 hours, but was so busy that I didn’t get a chance to take a lunch and forgot. Immediately upon clocking in and going into the Starbucks, this a-hole ETL jumped down my throat in front of customers and other team members. I immediately apologized and promised it would never happen again, but he kept yelling! I started crying and I do not cry easily. I was so embarrassed!

Pretty soon within the next month I will make a post talking about the store I was working at and the games they liked to play with people.

Likes(2)Dislikes(0) A friend recently got fired from this shit hole. As soon as she told a bunch of us I was so angry. She seemed pretty relaxed and she sensed some kind of relief. There’s a lot of us that saw that coming though, they were looking for any excuse to fire her and they did.
The good thing is that she no longer has to deal with all the bullshit and put up with these annoying ass ETL’s. I’m happy she’s out of here but I’m sad cause she was fun to work with. ETL’s hated that she got along well with others, not only was she an awesome person but she had the kind of personality that draws you.
MI even heard they had written her up for not being FFF really? I can made ten purple out of the top of my head that very much lack FFF come one who are we fooling?

Oh okay I got it, target hates you, dislikes you and here’s the reason you’re getting fired____________________ (fill in the lame blank). So a friend got fired today for a violation of “company policy” hmmmmm lets see???????? Oh wait if that’s the case then there is soooooooooo many of us that should of gotten fired by now. I won’t go into details cause I don’t wanna put her on blast but I personally think that they found any excuse to get rid of her. Don’t know what member of management fired her but all I can say is that TARGET SUCKS! I kinda feel happy for her kinda bittersweet because I’m happy that she doesn’t have to put up with the bullshit at the worse company ever but it sucks that she doesn’t have a job now. I’m sure she will find something, she’s a hard worker and an awesome person to work with. FUCK YOU TARGET!
