I’ve been working at target for over a year and gotta say I don’t how I’ve gotten this far without quitting yet. the pressure and stress I go through it’s enough on my brain but I manage to get through each and every day even though I have pick up the slack from the new guys and because I’m a team trainer there it’s my job to tell them how to do it right i feel that I don’t need to be left with newbies that need to be constantly told how do the job right things just haven’t been the same for the “flow team” It feels like babysitting sometimes more than a job. But overall i like working in logistics More than any other position in the store.

(5) So I put in my 2 weeks notice today at the store that I was working at. Haven’t been in there for a minute it seems and I only recognized a few of the people whom I used to work with.
So glad that I no longer work there. No more games, no more drama.
So they had some of the laziest people at that store. A girl who was in school and would need to go home and study and the Etl would let her, Really? Then guess who got stuck having to work over in her area since it looked like a big ass pile.
Likes(1)Dislikes(0) Honestly, Target just sucks. I’ve been working at Target for about a year now and wow.. How did I manage? The first 6 months I was a cashier. It was going well until my 6th month. Rude, bitchy, same old guests (customers). The GSTLs were naggy and I HATED the red card deal. I could never get them and I would always get yelled at. Like try selling it yourself then LODs and GSTLs! Then I got moved to Softlines. Out of the blue, not even trained, and I was there. Then I became fitting room person (currently am still.) I hate it. First the morning person never clears out the fitting room for me and every time I work, I’m stuck with loads of clothes that need to be hung correctly and folded nicely. I would always finish but this got tiring. I’m a high school student with about 32 hours every week! My softlines team and I are close and we talk about anything, but we’ve had sooo many complaints from guest because they always tell the LODs that we’re never working. Which gets me mad. Leave if you don’t want to hear us talk about how much we hate Target! And there’s this one suck up team member who tells the LODs everything and when softlines is going to call out. It’s getting annoying and I almost quit the other day. OVERALL, the management sucks, the LODS sit on their lazy asses and don’t do anything, team members work our hardest to only get bitched at, and to never trust certain team members. They’re snitches and fake.
Likes(2)Dislikes(4) Recently I had experiences that really made me wonder about Target. I was shopping and encountered a former Target employee. We got to talking and she told me a story where she was going to try and work two jobs. The training schedule at her new job conflicted with her schedule at Target. Target in their less than infinite wisdom, let her go, saying “she didn’t work hard enough.” Excuse me. The woman worked in softlines, other than hanging up clothes there’s not much else to do, how are you supposed to work hard at that? The woman strongly suspects Target got rid of her because they wanted to fill her position with younger people. I don’t think Target is an angel or anything, but I did think they were above that. Does Target really think that the people they’re slapping around aren’t going to talk about it to family and friends, that the unfairness that they direct at their employees isn’t going to be heard?
Likes(3)Dislikes(4) So I have been over looked again for a TL spot in my store and I getting sick of it. It seems as if your not white then your not rite in my store. There is only one black TL and ETL in my whole store they should say something. I have been at my store for 1year and 7months and still not spot for me. Its always well you need more work, or the time is not rite and last my favorite you need to be more global. WTF I work in Electronics I get guest that come in talk to my TL’s and ETL’s and write to district about me but still nothing and this happens on a all the time bases. I don’t get how much work I have to do. They treat me like a Slave once again I guess that’s ok becuz I’m BLACK, I’m way under paid and My AAR scores alone are the best in my region. What more do you need so weak ass RedCards no body wants? I’m so sick of this place. I get store Mangers for different company’s that come to my store that beg me to leave mine and be a Manger at theirs. Why in the HELL do I said No? Maybe becuz I feel like I can help the team out so they can feel better about what they do or maybe I’m slow. Idk anymore I just want what is supposed to happen when for show hard work for a store that’s HATES BLACKS. So should I just switch stores and see what happens? or Stay and get Over Looked Again? or Say Skip It and Leave? what you guys think?
Likes(1)Dislikes(7) So I punched in my number today to start work, the HR TL asked me in her office as I walked by, turned around, came in said oh you said my name? “yeah”. So she started saying “We would just like to know everyone’s hours availability for the upcoming holidays.” Asked about Thanksgiving, black Friday after Thanksgiving, day before Christmas, Christmas whole week, Christmas Eve. We all get Christmas day off of course, all businesses everywhere are closed mostly. Target and Walmart are closed anyway. I said yeah I’m available at all times, anytime, I don’t have a big family, it all works, no configurations needed, I’m available all of those days, no problem. She than asked if I would even accept overtime during the holiday months if and when needed for extra help, I said yes to that also. So apparently now over time is still not acceptable as no one ever gets over 40 hours on the work hours sheets of course we all know, but apparently during this holiday season overtime can be done! OMG, so I’m gonna be exhausted and hussled and doing a lot of work, but the thing that keeps me working even though the job sucks and I hate talking to random people is thinking about money. First off, I get paid holiday pay (time and a half) pay and I get more hours than I ever have before. I’ll be faking the generosity even more this holiday season as I get paid big bucks and time a half pay and overtime pay also! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
Likes(7)Dislikes(6) I hate it! I hate it! I hate it! I hate it when Target hires new cashiers and sales floor team and rush train train them leaving them to fail. I hate it. I hate it when Target puts a new ETL G.E in place and they do not know how to help a guest sign up on the register for a red card! Are you fucking kidding me? I hate how the cart attendants get overused and abuse and tossed around especially during summer time and all the etl’s must think they are too grand to help out cleaning the rest rooms. I hate it when hard working and productive team members get overlooked around review time but the lazy ass kissers get the better raises. I hate it when Target demonizes, harrasses and stresses out its team members with the red card card but they are always an epic fail when it comes to fixing the bad morale in their stores.

I’m actually happy to report that some things have gotten better. And, well, some things have gotten worse. But that’s Target for ya, huh?

Theyre all the same kind of like programmed little robots, saying yes master! I really wanna say exactly what I know about each and everyone one of them but I don’t wanna get anyone in trouble because the ETL’s start blaming people and find an excuse to write them up.
Oh and today they had a “salsa” contest to see who made the best salsa can you believe that shit lol, get a life! No one else was involved but the same people nothing but TL’s, ETL’s and senior team leads, give me a break is that really a “team” event? That doesn’t sound FFF to me.

Why don’t you guys have a competition about which Etl gets the most red cards come on bust your ass for once, lead by example on a store activity level not some lame ass chili cook off or salsa contest.
Great way to milk the clock by hanging out in the break room to have people sample your shit. Too bad corporate doesn’t see video footage of how the ETL’s “work” fucking joke.
Likes(2)Dislikes(0) I am of course an hourly employee, not a fancy team lead or ETL. Although I’m confidant I can do the job of both. Oh wait, I do my TL’s job. Do I get paid for it? Of course not. Does anyone show me any appreciation? Hell No. I actually loved this job, okay I semi-enjoyed it when I first started over a year and a half ago. Now I’d much rather stay home and cry than go to work. My team lead is team lead in two departments, and has absolutely no idea what he/she is supposed to do in Food Ave. He/She has been team lead for over a year and just recently was forced to begin working in FA after a significant amount of complaining and a few crying sessions on my teams part. He/She expects me to do everything for him/her, but only gave me a 12 cent raise, the lowest in my department this year. Seriously!? How can someone who never works with me give me a raise and a review? He/She said I was rude to guests. Of all the people in my department, I am actually the only one who has never been rude to a guest, no matter how difficult that may be. And he/she cut my hours and gave more hours to two newer employees. This job has become a joke. I cannot wait until I can submit my two weeks.
This site is probably going to keep me sane and from quitting! Thanks for the great vent session!
