So I got hired for the Starbucks inside of Target. I honestly thought that Target was going to be this super awesome place to work since the people seem friendly and they seem to treat their employees well.
Two weeks into it, I started to see the reality of it.
To begin, I never fucking finished my barista training. My manager was so hardcore on training me for the first two weeks. After that, it was basically like “Okay you’re trained enough, start doing everything…… blah.” But it was fine because I had my coworkers to back me up. Then later, I would show up to my shift and my coworkers would leave. Not only did I not get a break, I also didn’t have enough time to finish the night chores because the shift before would leave at 6pm, which was when they had me working.

I have a close family member that works at Target. YESTERDAY-
Back room, pulling dollar spot items that never made it out for the holidays. PULLED TAGGED AND SALVAGED!!! TONS OF BRAND NEW ITEMS!!! Pencils, glasses, books, food- you name it-it was in there. GARBAGE COMPACTOR was its final resting place. NOT SALVATION ARMY, NOT HOMELESS SHELTER-NOTHING FOR THE NEEDY. This sickens my family member so much. When management was asked WHY not donate it? Answer was-CORPORATE DOESNT LET US. ALSO how about those cleaning people who just throw away all those things that go into the recycle bin out front for customers-right into the compactor!!! OR ALL THE FOOD THAT DOESNT EVER MAKE IT OUT ONTO THE FLOOR FOR PURCHASE THAT SITS IN BACK, EXPIRES, AND GETS TOSSED-YA YOU GUESSED IT TRASH COMPACTOR. CAN WE ALL SAY STORE MISS MANAGED???? Sad thing about it-its been that way for about 6 years now. Maybe the new manager will whip the high school drama club into shape, or just join it like the past managers. West Jordan, Utah

Does the individual store benefit from people signing up for a red card?
I say that to say this, tonight the closing L.O.D got pissed off because we only got 1 red card. LOL.
Someone said, Hey one is better than zero and the LOD replied, no 1 is even worst, we are dead last in the district for red card conversation, one of the newer stores is doing better than us and we are close to the shopping mall and airport that should never happen.
So I ask, what do the individual stores get from corporate if anything from people signing up for the red card?

So even with the fear of using credit cards, debit cards and redcards, people are still shopping in our target, though I can’t for the life of me get a red card out of anyone for at least a week, with the exception of a few stragglers who are willing to sign up for debit cards..
As a cashier, I have had to listen to the constant stupidity of guests, asking me if its safe to use their cards.. THEN when I say yes, those same people go into a song and dance about how their bank is reissuing them a new card and blah blah blah, who gives a shit..

I’m a cashier at Target and I have to say, one of the worst parts of checking people out is dealing with those fucking bags. I don’t know if it’s like this at all Target’s, but here in Texas our Target bags suck dick. You literally have to tear them from each other I mean actually use both fucking hands and grasp onto separate bags or else you wind up just tearing them both down the middle. It’s kind of like tearing a piece of paper that you’ve already folded, unfolded, and folded again and if you’re not careful you’ll tear more than you intended.

I’m not sure if anybody notices, but at the target I work at a in Chicago, the cart attendents are black and Latino and the cashiers are women. Does this happen anywhere else? Wouldn’t it be nice if there was more than one male cashier and white cart attendent? Just something I brought up with the brand attendant.

Went to target in milwaukee WI to return and exchange a defective phone that i had for 22 days.guest services said without the original box they couldn’t take it.after some persistan complaining they returned the phone and sent me to electronics with a raincheck coupon.got there only to be told the phone it’s out of stock.after interrogating 7 employees and management no one could tell me when more would be in.so i had to go back to guest services and claim the original phone i returned.how can a major corporation treat people so poorly and hire the incompetent.I’ll never go there again.

I quit/was fired from a Target not too long ago. Not that I would put myself on a pedestal by having been a member of the military, but I have been noted for strong work ethic. I understood the b.s. of this job even though this was my first retail experience. On one Sunday night, I was told to zone Laundry/cat food area and while I’m not 27 people for 27 aisles, I’m just one person so forgive me if a customer misplaces something while my back is turned. Anyway, the store manager was walking my area with my stooge team leader and she was telling him that it doesn’t look like I’ve zoned anything whatsoever…..right in front of me. Now she had no idea I was walking towards her but that was strike 3 to leave this dismal place. The day after halloween we had our team meeting and I asked the assistant store manager if the store manager was there and when he said she wasn’t, I said that “It sucks she’s not here, because I was looking forward to telling her she can go F— herself”. The morale of the story is that I rather be jobless than work at a Target. While $8.50 per hour is not a lot in itself, I rather make LESS and be happy than make more and feel miserable. And with this breach, I’m loving it. Here’s a lesson for you Target and retail: nobody is a machine.

I have worked at a specific target for almost 7 months. During my seven months, I have been talked to at least six times. One of them was a coaching session. I have been talked to about being slow and trying to be fast. Recently, I get comments about one day specifically, a GSA said that they had to ask someone else to do my job (shovel snow and put down salt) because it was snowing. The problem is that the machine that we had doesn’t really work and didn’t work in the snow. I had to go out manually to grab carts and that was the only thing that I could have done. I don’t understand; I can’t be myself nor can I implement other coworkers (I don’t care for saying team members). Recently, I’m finding out that three security gaurds was fired and one was doing his job and a cashier was fired for ‘not doing her job’. Nothing makes sense anymore. Everything that I have seen is bullshit. If I had another job lined up, I would have left.

Ugh I don’t even know where to start.
i was so excited to have gotten my first (actual job) and also excited it wasn’t at mc Donald’s Or something like that. Anyway. I go in for my interview that they called me in for the day before, and no one knew where to send me to or even why I was there. After I had told them at least 3 times i had an interview at the that target and I wasn’t mistaken. After at least 20 minutes of just standing by guest services looking like a random lost girl, someone finally came upto me and brought me upstairs for the interview.(and the store actually was not busy at all,why did it take so damn long?)
