All the employees who are working at my store location had to go to a meeting with the ETL-HR and the STL. Apparently, Target is discontinuing the Health Benefits for all team members effective March 1, 2014. Someone asked why and the ETL gave some reasons about not enough employees are signing up. and with the new Obama Care ( Affordable Care Act) people can go online and probably find cheaper insurance somewhere else.
Is it really the reason that I mentioned, or is it the fact that Target has to pay for the one year of credit service for everybody that has shopped at Target, even people who have not shopped there. and the team members are being hit. Now, I dont have health insurance with Target, and I dont want to, but I know people in the store that depended on it just in case something happened

In early October of 13, I applied at Target. Within an hour I got a call scheduling an interview and learned the position I was interviewing for was seasonal. Now, normally I would have declined at that moment because quite frankly seasonal isn’t my thing, but I applied when I was 18 weeks pregnant and money was already tight so I figured anything is better than a little diner job I previously had. I was hired on when I was 21 weeks pregnant.

I worked at target for only a few months during witch I thought was great I work in electronics easy right…. Well it was until. During my time I mistakingly left the Apple products out once, was late once and late another time due to miss communications by my one of my lods. And forgot once in awhile to ask for a new battery for walkie. All of which instead of pulling me to the side saying hey remember to-do this or you can improve on that. I got a (coaching) twice fired on the spot because they thought I wasnt working or in there words slaking or not working. I have ocd I clean my area I take the shipments restock the encaps. And ask my lods if I can stay late to help. And have more electronics experience and know how than most back there. I thought Wal-Mart was bad. But I got fired right when target announced 110 million were affected by that hacking. But I was told some weird excuse to why I needed to be let go. Which I responded back with that’s not best for business when I was never trained to there standards. I did the best with what I was handed. I’m never a slacker I gi’ve everything into my work. I’m glad I’m outta there

Where to even begin? I guess from the beginning..
-Start working shipping / receiving / reverse logistics and all backroom positions in January of 2013. Job is great at first with steady hours (40-50 per week for first few months)
-Store opens to the public in early 2013 and sales are (surprise surprise) not so great due to lack of product on shelves and high prices
-Hours take a major cut to about 10 per week (even though my availability is completely open and I have been a very reliable employee) HOWEVER management is clearly playing favorites as some employees are still getting a steady 30-40 hours weekly while the rest are barely making a paycheque due to the lack of hours

I was pretty disgusted with the so called leaders at Target before, but recently they have exceeded what anyone could have imagined possible in the bully and simply dumb departments. Sales have been slow, like all Target stores lately, but recently leaders of the store actually try to blame the employees for this. Talk about sinking lower then the lowest low.

Just found this site. Read the first two pages. Saw lots of frustration towards TLs posted. However, I hope I’m not the only TL out there that is experiencing some major bullshit. I genuinely care and make an effort.

I got the following in an email from Target. It includes their free credit monitoring that you can get at creditmonitoring.target.com. Why am I posting this? Because EVERYBODY needs to sign up for this service! Every person that uses the third party service costs target money. So go monitor your credit on their dime!

I get chewed out for not wearing a PDA holster by the alcoholic TL trainee barely 23 years old, then an hour later catch him walking to the backroom carrying a PDA with no holster! Then I go on my lunch and as I say over the walkie, “This is _______, I’m taking my 30, Will’s got the boat.” I guess someone walkied over me, because when I got back I got chewed out AGAIN by that TL! He kept saying “When you take breaks and lunches you gotta call it on the walkie,” and “Geez, this is like working with children…” and I’m like “Uh I did, you didnt hear it?” He says “No I didn’t, maybe next time try being a little more responsible.” and I’m there thinking, responsible? Where do you get off saying that? It’s like I’m only there to be harassed by him, like I’m back in high school or some sh*t and I keep getting picked on by popular kids. And all the popular kids are LOD’s and us regular team members are the losers and geeks. And it doesn’t stop there, even the other LOD’s get in on it. What’s sad is that I started at another Target and it wasn’t at all like this, everyone was nice and polite and never rude. But then I transferred to live with a friend and here at the 1115 store we have high school-esque cliques of LOD’s and a tyrannical STL. I deal with it ALL the time, no matter what I do or say I still get the shaft. I can’t wait to get out of there!

Good News: The only thing that’s good about the breach is that I haven’t had to ask customers about the REDcard for four weeks now!
Bad News: The LODs with the Breakout (the clipboard with our breaks listed on it) always fail to make sure each cashier has their break! They always tell me that I should never go on break until they tell me to, yet they forget to check the Breakout so often, that I have missed many of my breaks in the past few days, and the breaks I do have are two hours later than they should be. I know LODs can be busy, but how hard is it to glance at the clipboard and walk up to a cashier to say it is time for their break? Or if they cannot go to the cashier, they can ask another employee to tell the cashier for them.

I am so sick of people pointing the finger at Target because of the data breach. Target did not do it; a group of criminals hacked the system and leaked the information. It was also not the only store that this happened to. It happened to Neiman and Marcus as well.
I am sick of people coming to me at guest services and being like ‘”because YOU GUYS stole my identity” and pointing their finger at me. No we didn’t. And don’t tell me you understand that when I tell you “It wasn’t the store, it was a group of criminals that hacked the system” because if you did you would not get up in my face and say YOU GUYS because you would understand that we didn’t exactly jump for joy when we found out this happened because we knew we would get blamed for it. We just work for the stores and for the record, employees were also affected. Target takes security very seriously and is doing everything they can to fix this. Blaming the stores for this is ignorant so just stop. For fucks sake.
