I remember the first time I worked at Target. I always worked hard and strived to be the “the can do everything girl” I enjoyed helping everyone out / assisting etc. Target back then in 2006 wasn’t as atrocious and horrid as it is today. We actually were a team/ we would get everything done and we’d help one another until, the tides changed in the corporate tower.

I’ve been reading topics here for quite some time now, and now I feel I want to express myself as well.
Note I’M only 17 and the other cart attendants are 16 and 17. Other nights they have past cart attendants closing.
I’ve been at Super Target since October as a cart attendant and USED to cashier, but haven’t been scheduled at it in months.

I just found this website today after coming home from work… let’s guess… target. Anyways it’s awesome to hear your stories and everything although I have noticed how very different the target I work at is a bit different. I would start of by saying, hell the fuck yeah I hate working at target. What department am I in you may ask? SOFTLINES. Yes softlines, *sigh* I would start off by also saying that I hate guests, mostly the old bitchy know it all people.

Let me start off by saying that my store decided to drastically reduce the amount of hours given to the assets protection team at my store. We usually dont get anyone in until 2 and sometimes they leave long before closing. Now, onto my story. This morning began like any other. I waited an exceptionally long time to be let in, and ridiculously long for my keys. Both thanks to my least favorite LOD at my store. But fine, I had my morning coffee, I shall persevere.

HEY EVERYONE WHO HATES TARGETS AND ARE BEING CLOCKED ON HOW MUCH TIME YOU ARE TAKING ON BREAK. YOU DONOT NEED AND ETL OR A TL WATCHING OVER YOU AND ASKING IF YOU STILL ON YOUR BREAK. YOU DO NOT NEED AN ETL GETTING NASTY AND BELOW BECAUSE OF THERE TITLE. WE ARE NOT BELOW THEM GUYS. ITS TIME THAT WE TAKE ACTION IN OUR OWN HANDS. REMEMBER THE VIDEO THEY SHOW TO EVERY TEAM-MEMBER DURING ORIENTATION ABOUT HOW UNIONS ARE BAD. WELL GUESS WHAT FOLKS, UNIONS ARE INFACT GREAT.

I got stonewalled in my first round at discovery with my lawsuit against the Target Pharmacy here in Utah. According to Target’s attorney’s there are no “non-privileged” documents. I’m filing a motion to compel that includes voice recording from Target Customer Service giving me a claim # and at the same time telling me I had been denied my claim. I never made a claim, just a complaint.
I asked for video but I was told there is none but yet somehow I don’t believe them…

I have this one ETL who have a stupid habit of waiting until she see’s me with a guest to hop her little fluffy ass over to my register and proceeds to PRETEND to be helping me bag the customers items and then tries forcing a red card down their damn throat!! And when they decline she says okay and walks away….well bitch wasn’t u just helping me bag well wtf happened??? It’s uncomfortable and makes me look as if I’m not doing my job!! Then there’s this other one who does the same shit!!!! If it’s that damn serious maybe you shouldn’t be a ETL but yet a CASHIER!!

I worked at softlines for 1 year in which I got 15 hour weeks ( even though i had full availability) and 30 hours during December. This year my hours declined from 15 to 10 and to 4. I had to beg my ETL for hours, after asking 3 times, i was given 10 hours a week. I found this very insulting to me as i had to come 2 days a week for 4 or 5 hours each day. I felt that my stupid ETL never recognized or awarded my hard work . I never asked for a thank you or a raise, I simply asked for more hours. I’m a college student and I found it impossible to pay for the most basic essentials with $ 120 monthly paychecks.

okay, let me first start off by saying this is bullshit. I work hard lines, Café, cart attendant, bikes, groceries, and electronics. About a week ago I was working hard lines and they called cashiers for back up like they always do. I decided to go up because nobody else was responding. Some old lady came up to my register and she wanted to purchase a seven dollar lamp. As she scrambled through her purse she managed to pull out a $100 bill (the old ones they don’t use anymore). When she handed it to me. It looked and felt so fake in my hands. At this point I didn’t know what to say so I turned around and asked one of the LODs to come to my register for guest assistance. While the LOD was coming over, I pointed the bill into the light to see if there was a security marking on it and there wasn’t. The LOD told the guest/theift that the security Bar could have came off in the washing machine *awkwardly* the lady then rushed out the door quickly. Later that day I got called to the office and was coached because of that.
