So I worked for target in a hardlines position for a good 3 months only to be fired two days before my ninety days was up. While California is an at will employment state they don’t need a reason. They need even less while in your ninety days. From day one my boss had a vendetta against me. She consistently gave me three departments to cover usually toys hba and sporting goods. Toward the end of my shift she would bring everyone over to point of things I did wrong and have everyone fix my horrible zone. When she fired me i asked for a reason why and she gave me the arbitrary reason of “I just feel like this job isn’t a good fit for you.” later do I find out that my executive team lead didn’t even know she wanted to fire me and that HR said if she wanted me gone she would have to be the one to do it.

(23) I just love how Target dares to have an ad advertising Thanksgiving while they are pretty much killing Thanksgiving. This ad in particular has kids pulling a giant golden turkey bone. It’s an old thanksgiving tradition, well not normally a golden or oversized one. I’m surprised since retailers like Target have forced some people to do away with Thanksgiving traditions and follow what is now “Black Thursday” traditions. Thanksgiving is as dead as a turkey.

People get taken away from family just for assholes who want 5 bucks off a flat screen. People have died at Black Friday from being trampled peoples bones have been broken. My manager 8 years ago got knocked over and he’s a tall guy. He dislocated his knee and couldn’t work for 8 months. And why? Because of assholes who want 4 bucks off of tampons. The thought of Black Friday makes me so angry. I thought about this in the comfort of my room for an hour. I hate the thought of Black Friday. When I leave target I will never attend a Black Friday for any reason. Guest are fuckin annoying enough but when you pull me away from my family when you pull hardworkers away from there kids. I just can’t stand the thought. I straight up told my team lead etl and manager “schedule me on Black Friday period and I will call in” they didn’t listen and well if they fire me that’s there problem. Likes(38)Dislikes(3) I usually go to high end stores to shop even though I like Targets merchandise because of all the horror stories about how they treat employees. I witnessed this today in a CT store. I will not be more specific because I don’t want the employee to get in trouble for venting. First of all, as I was checking out, the cashier was rudely interrupted by the management staff. They told him “he was in trouble for calling in to say he’d be 15 min late.” In WHAT world do you get in trouble for calling in LATE one time. This is horrific. Secondly, he should have been spoken to in private. He told me he was not aware the rules had changed & that he would be in trouble for that. He told me “he wished he was dead since he got laid off in the recession and had to work at Target, & told me of some of the “rules,” that seemed more like slave labor mandates instead of “rules.”

I get so frustrated because I have no idea why they do it and why they make it so obvious. I have never stolen anything in my life outside of a piece of gum off my cousin’s dresser when I was 5. I spend my money where I’m appreciated.
Likes(5)Dislikes(8) So I didn’t work at target, HOWEVER, I wasted almost 7 hours out of my day at one of their interviews and was mislead and LIED TO by 3 different employees about being hired, and I’ve absolutely had it. So here’s the deal:
I need a job, saw Target was hiring, and applied. Got called in for an interview. I did one interview, was asked to sit and wait for a second one (along with about 50 other people, mind you.) I said fine. So 45 minutes passed, and I’m still waiting for the 2nd interview. Pissed, I finally ask someone, who says “oh, they’ll be right with you.” BS. I waited yet another HOUR, and finally some super snotty lady took me back.

Anyway, she said she was glad that we only sell them for $5 and that t Tarshit sells the exact same product for $20. I told her that the next time she goes to Tarshit to price match everything and that they won’t deny that shit. She said she didn’t know of a store that would do that and that she’d do that next time she went to Tarshit. This is what you get fucken Tarshit!!! Fuck you and the LODs and everyone that thinks they’re above it all bitches!!!!

However, I extra hate extra bitchy guests who think they are right. Don’t tell me the guest is always right, because trust me, this bitch was fifty shades of fucked up.

A junior employee decided this was the time to insist that the customers move out of his way so he could push about 30 carts from the front to the back of the store.
I left without my groceries, leaving the cart at the Guest Service desk with a curt explanation, and called the store when I got home.
Likes(14)Dislikes(21) Target DC hires temps to work seasonal and holidays and pays them $12.00 hr. They can’t get anyone stupid enough to work seasonal fulfillment @ Fridley or Woodbury DC for $15.50 hr. I’ve seen the temps steal stuff and get busted for hiding merchandise around the building.
