    Put your input

Ive been working at target since July. I’ve only called out if i was feeling sick. I broke my toe one Friday night, called the next morning telling them I cant work. The LOD who picked up did not believe me one Bit. To that I had to go to the doctors and bring in a note To excuse me from work. I’m a very hard worker there, even though I’m a cashier. My speed score is always 90% and my red cards are acceptable. During my 90 day review I got great comments . But I feel like target is fucken Taking advantage of me. when I take weekends off , which isn’t a lot but I need a break from them. I get called unreliable. UnfckenrelIable! This store doesn’t even know how to say my name. Neither do they ask how to say it.  my TL always tells me to be globe , how am I suppose to talk to anyone if I get in trouble for speaking to coworkers cause I’m not “working”.  this past Saturday , I had a sinus infection and felt like I was going to past out at work. I told my TL he told me find a manger so I did. went to the back room another worker told them over the radio . Apparently he cleared it for me to go home. Nobody told me anything . I went to find someone to cover my shift. Two mangers saw me I spoke to them. They had the nerve to tell me to go back on register regardless of how I feeling. ARE YOU FUCKEN SERIOUS. they weren’t even listening or bothering to pay attention to a word I said . took me an hr to  finally get my hr’s attention . I told him how I felt about being a cashier . About how the store doesn’t know how to say my name and how I hate being there. He listened and told me he okay it for me for leave an hr ago. I fucken hate target. I’m debating if I should put my two weeks in. I have so many other stories. I fucken hate this place but it’s a job.  But I’m only 18 I shouldn’t feel depress about working or be taken advantage of .

  • GSA is not really the greatest position at the store I work in but I’m not gonna complain too much because it can always be worst. I hate “pushing” cashiers and “pushing” guests to apply for red cards.  The store has had the highest turnover (including management) i’ve ever seen since I started a few years ago. I’m pretty sure the management is looking to drop me after fourth quarter…so i’m kinda wondering if having a Psyche BA and GSA experience counts for anything, in regards to to looking for a new job. I am now mentally exhausted and I don’t think I can give my full effort to this company any longer. I’m tired of being disrespect by cashiers, guests, and team leads/ETLs. I’m tired of disrespecting cashiers, ‘guests, and team leads/ETLs. The only reason I’m still there is because I don’t wanna screw over the team before Black Thursday (i mean Friday) and the holiday rush. I’m just curious as if I can count being a GSA as management/supervisor experience. Thanks in advance for any advice. Love live life.

  • I have been working for target for almost 3 Years. I started out in flow, moved to backroom, and for the last year and a 1/2 I’ve been working under the title of Space Management. For the entire duration of my time at Target I have worked tirelessly to show my bosses and peers that I’m ready for more responsibility ( hence the reason I’ve been moved drastically to better positions in rapid succession). I’ve put in for three open management positions and all three times I was not even interviewed.

Working as cashier for Holiday season

I’m fairly new to the cash register… The holidays are coming up and I really need some advice on what it’s like to work as a cashier during the holidays. I know it’s going to be super crowded.Does that mean that time will go by fast since everyone is going to be at the registers? How many cashiers do they hire? Also, I’m scared that my conversions are going to go down cause I know the computer is going to prompt us like crazy…also the rude guests? How do I deal with them?

Just any advice you all can offer to me to make sure I don’t blow it?

    Thanks!

Got fired because of an accidental no-call no-show

I worked for flow.  2 weeks ago, I misread my schedule due to mixing up the weeks, and I thought I was off on a Saturday.  As a direct result, I did not show up, nor did I call in because I thought I was off.  The next morning on Sunday, I was talked to by an LOD.  He told me I would be given a warning and not to do it again.  End of story, right?  WRONG.  2 weeks later (today), I go into work and called back into an office room by the ETL and terminated because of the no-call, no-show.

  • My 90 day eval is coming up next week I’m so nervous. I dealt with a rude customer a while ago which really upset me and they knew that…afraid they won’t wanna keep me around.I’m a cashier and I’ve managed to get 5 red cards in the course of 3 months. I’m not exactly sure what my conversion is. Anyways, what do I expect at a 90 day evaluation? I’m so nervous! I really wanna be cross trained! How can I achieve that?!

    Suspicions at Target

Target is one of the strangest working environment I have even worked at. I am going to write about my observations while I was working at Target.

    Management sucks

So not all of the LODs and TLs are bad at my store. But the bad seeds overshadow the good anyday. This new idiot front lanes LOD has made a BS rule that we are no longer allowed to enjoy our break or lunch in the Food Ave sitting area. Why? According to her, it looks bad for the team members to be taking up all the seats (though there are MAYBE 4-5 team members sitting there at any given time, leaving plenty of open seats) and if a guest asks us a question while on our 30 we would technically be working off tge clock by answering them. I have never in the two years I’ve been there been asked a question while eating on my break  Guests don’t walk in and think “Let me walk to the cafe to ask where toilet paper is!!” No, they go to Guest Services. Dumb pregnant LOD just wants to feel high and mighty. Can’t wait until she pops out her baby and is on leave for 2+ months.

  • So a week ago i was playing basketball at my local gym. I injured myself on this one play and my heel hurt. I went to the doctor and found out i had inflamed the bottom of my achilles tendon. I got a note from my doctor for work, and i thought i was exempt, and had all the time i needed to recover. I went in to target and gave my note to my hr team lead. I had already spoken to my supervising tl, and i thought all was well.

a week later i felt well enough to come back to work and i had recovered. I walk into target and go up to the hr team member and say that i can come back and work now. She says to talk to our Stl who does nothing but stay in her office all day and paint her nails or some shit like that. She says that i had 3 no-call no-shows over that period which i was injured and had a note for it. She then goes on to tell me that i am terminated.
