Absolutely nothing!!! Although, our favorite game to play was to see how much meaningless recognition we could give to prolong huddles. Sometimes, on a Friday, we could get a 30 minute huddle going. All by giving pointless recognition!

(9) Ok iv been working for target for about 3 years already and really want to give out a story about this shithole. So around thanksgiving I was hired as a season produce team member this is my second job but first in retail. After all the interviews and policy I understand hey this might turn out good. Later work in produce suck, first team lead knew her stuff give her props for knowing her stuff. For about 3-4 months it was a roller coaster it was Thanksgiving week and didn’t know what I was walking into soo no big deal that’s just work moving on, but wait I was never able to complete my cashier training?
Likes(22)Dislikes(9) I applied for a customer service position with target, once I got the job I was told during orientation I was actually in the grocery department, It didn’t really bother me because I knew I could possibly work my way to a different position. What I wasn’t told was I was actually the “grocery specialist” and that came with a lot of hours and responsibilities., 28 aisles all to myself. First off, I wasn’t trained or even shown how to use equipment, I was thrown with another employee and told to “shadow” them which I found was to be very annoying to the other employee.

The SGL still has his job and no one in the building respects him now doesn’t matter he is still there and walks like he owns the place. He is close to the GM so it wasn’t a shocker he is still at work. Everyone knows about it and we are wondering what the heck is our management doing. The GL he had sex with has been with other guys in the building and she is married. She doesn’t try to even hide she is out messing around with coworkers. I am hoping to get another job and get out of this place but for now I am stuck. It is hard to trust staff when they are all so close to each other and seem to be in inappropriate relationships. A married male SGL who just moved to the building over the summer is really nice but he is very close to a single female SGL who is also somewhat new to the building. I never see his wife when I have been off work and saw him at lunch twice he was with this female SGL. They always look very close and more like a couple than coworkers. Even after work I have seen him with her at a local spot near the distribution center. Out on a Saturday I have seen him with her the dumpy wife is nearby but he is always close by the female SGL. I hope his wife figures things out and I hope I can get out of this place soon.
Likes(31)Dislikes(7) I was brought on as a Cart Attendant (didnt apply for that position, and had plenty of experience in the food industry). As much as I thought I would hate the job, I actually started to enjoy not having to deal with my GSTL all the time. I was hired around Christmas time as a seasonal worker, so bear this in mind. During the days leading up to Christmas, I picked up a few cashier shifts. During these shifts, without trying to sell them, people were coming to me asking about the RedCard. Well, during those Christmas shifts I managed to get a very high score for those stupid cards. They decided that, without informing me, I was now going to be a cashier. When I found out that I was no longer going to work Cart Attendant, they simply told me “We feel you excel as a Cashier a bit more than cart attendant.” I dont ask the “guests” if they want the card, so my score has since plummeted. I get brought into the office every week to be coached on how to “help the guest save 5%”. Im always told I dont smile or appear happy on the lanes. Well no shit! Im suffering here! I want to be outside getting carts or doing literally anything else in the store.

Not one at our store is approachable or friendly, most of them talk to guests like they just learned English that morning, and they all spend most of their shifts checking their phones and hanging out at Starbucks or in HR – in my store, anyway. So please, how do they get these jobs?
Honestly, there are so many things about this place that I don’t get.
I fail to understand why we need to be friendly when the ETLs walk around with permanent scowls on their bitchy faces. I fail to understand why they have written up several staff members for checking their phones while they do the same thing when they think no one is looking. (Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think TMs should have their phones on the floor…but neither should the ETLs!) I fail to understand why some jobs don’t get posted; instead, friends of TLs simply get promoted. I fail to understand why we are lied to when people “leave”.
Anyone have any answers for me?

No matter how many times I remind Target, they always think it’s ok to schedule me to work during school hours, and this time, it’s during the week of Final Exams. Now I have to miss two work days because of they won’t listen to me and ignore what I message them through MAX Self-Service, so this week, I only have one workday. Our cash registers STILL aren’t updated and fixed. They still lag, freeze, and reboot at the worst of times. The GSTL’s take forever just to get me more change. They told the cashiers not to put on our lane blinkers, and to instead press the Help button and select “Get GSA/GSTL”.

However I still have all the funny memories.. the GSTL not letting me go to spend time with my dying grandmother, the LOD telling me I can’t go to her funeral without having it held against me, the butthurt customers raging at me for trying to sell them REDCards, the “cleaning up” Dollar Spot by just tossing shit on the shelves. Ohh Target, how I hate you.
Likes(47)Dislikes(8) I got a review, it was ok, surprising as we usually have always done reviews in May at my store but not this year. I got a 13 cent raise. They said I’m good at helping guests and staying working and being on time and telling about stock reported from guests and other issues. They said I’m not good at selling off a good vibe like selling the red card and all the application and savings stuff to people. Oh and now, we have to accept expired coupons, what? Really? Target now supports thieves, crime, and steeling. She said if a guests complains that some items are suppose to get a $5 dollar card, just give it to them, if a guests thinks something is cheaper, just change it. WTF? Seriously? I’m not for the business of Target, but what Target is doing is pure crime, theft, and allowing people to literally steel and have free money. 13 cents though, nothing much. I hate the job, but really this is the highest pay I have ever gotten in my life. $8.67 an hour is the most I’ve ever gotten. I’m planning to quit as soon as I find another job though because people are the ones who really piss me off with there freeloading gimme gimme free stuff minds at my store.

if you remember, I was fired because I was wrongfully accused for calling a customer a bitch. What I didn’t tell you about this 8 month hell was that I tried to get the job for three years living a block away from the damn store!!
So I’m fired and out of a job. The next day, I was asking around for a job application but really just want to focus on school if I can’t get anything. I go to foot locker to just to ask about the job and new shoes. You wanna know who long it took to get the job??? TWO WEEKS!!!! Target: 3 years. The best part about foot locker: fast, fun, and friendly actually means something and I get to be myself and get complimented instead of trying to emulate someone only to be complained. The best news is that an old coworker is finally going to put in his resignation papers. This target done fucked up big time because four really good people have left and the fifth one is about to be out the door.
