    WORST COMPANY TO WORK FOR!!!!!

I been with this company for over seven years now. I thought that working for the top retail company in the world you would have great opportunity’s to grow in the company. Well that is not the case at all…  All the do is screw you over! They say “O your ready to be promoted” and you do all this extra work to get promoted and have other leaders help you promote, and at the end of the day some Business Partner or District Manager has to step in and say no. I guess the new thing for Target in order to promote is green means go! They expect all of our scores and metrics to be green in order to promote. But hey if your an ETL that doesn’t matter its only if your a normal team member. The whole Target saying “Expect More Pay Less” what that really means is that they expect more and pay us employees less!!! If your looking to promote with a company don’t pick Target! You will not get any promotion with this company, they just drag you along and at the end of the day your the one that will be disappointed and screwed.  Overall, don’t work for Target!!!

    Life of a Target Employee

Here I am after reading a shit load of posts about how all these other people hate target and I thought, man I would love to entertain the social media with my story of Tarjay as well.

I started a year ago in July. I really didn’t need a job but my mom kept nagging me to get one. I got hired right away. I was working after 2 weeks. I had an open availability due to summer break therefore I worked whatever the hell they wanted me to work. I wasn’t allowed to work past 9:45 EXACTLY because I was considered a minor. Who the hell gets scheduled to work to 9:45? Just another way for to Target to get around state laws.

    Pizza Slut

So, I was hired recently at a Northeastern store. I applied for a cashier position because I have experience in it and I really do enjoy interacting with people, but apparently Target thought I’d do better working in the Pizza Hut…sorry, FoodAve. That’s fine, a job is a job. Nobody told me the shit, I would have to deal with, though. Let’s make a list, shall we?

1)I just got the fucking job. I don’t know what I’m doing. Trust me, if I had a choice I would not choose to be over here with a bunch of bitchy girls who act like I am committing a cardinal sin by asking for instruction and help. FYI, there is only one team lead and neither of you (especially you Tubby One) are her. Stop talking down to me like I’m fucking stupid. I have a degree. A DEGREE! What have you done with your life besides make PPP’s and suck manager dick for hours?

  • So i got hired back in October-late November cant remember when but it was right around before Christmas time and i was super excited i just got a job after my summer one so i i didn’t have to worry about money for a little while, so i fill out an application online and in store, they chose the in-store one. I go in dressed to impress and shit thinking this is the best thing ever, i interviewed with the LOD and he really liked what i had to say and he liked how much i knew about technology hell, i am pretty much a tech buff i follow pretty much everything, and i am big gamer as well, so immediately i start working in electronics after 3 days on the floor, and i saw the raise in my payment by .50 cents that i liked. So Christmas time rolls around things going good getting used to where everything was and knowing people and ish. Um need i say more for the people who worked at target during seasonal time, its a bitch, 2000 million fucking carts of re-shop that they expect you to finish while they hover over you every 20 minutes to see if anything has changed while you have guest and aisle to zone. So you have to be mr./mrs. impossible. Around that time i wasn’t too annoyed you know i needed the money and ish for gas and going out and new computer parts. I got what i prayed for several days after Christmas/seasonal time was over it slowed down and it went back to normal and nice pace.

    Target is run by morons

This is my first post so I have a lot of steam to let off.

I have worked at Target for almost 7 years and it has gotten worse and worse every single year. This Vibe shit is just some petty attempt to make Target stand out from other retailers. They’re trying to force moments for “guests” (I didn’t invite them) which I think cheapens everything. The same goes for all these stupid team cards that they’ve all but made mandatory. I work logistics and another stupid idea they’ve implemented at my store is a later truck unload. This means the flow team is working out the entire truck when the store is open, and I mean the entire truck. Every piece goes to the floor. The so called idea is for flow team to double as sales floor. Of course when the execs do everything in their power to get the flow team out by 10:30 a.m. ( we open at 8) it kind of defeats the purpose. The pallets and flats the flow team works off of pretty much blocks half the aisles which blocks people from getting to any merchandise.  This also has the added bonus of cutting sales floor people’s hours and fucks them over. Whoever came up with this idea has never worked at or shopped at a Target in his/her life. This cutting payroll because of sales thing is bullshit too. Less payroll means less people to put product out and/or help “guests” find products which means less sales. Its just a cycle of stupidity. The only thing my execs care about is making payroll so they can get their end of year bonus. The one thing that probably would increase sales at my store is a re-model to put in a pharmacy but they won’t do it because our sales are low. Half my job when I’m on the sales floor is to tell people we don’t have a pharmacy. Don’t know how much more of this I can take.

    Sorry this is so long…

Sadly I’m even leaving things out…

I’ve been a flow team member for almost 4 years over 2 stores. During the 4th quarter of 2012, I took a 6-week leave of absence because I literally couldn’t take it anymore. If you have a strong work ethic and attention to detail you’ll lose your mind working here.

I was, what I like to call “cart bitch.” I had to process repacks from the truck and push all of the carts by myself. It’s generally impossible to do this all by yourself and at the end of the day when you have carts left over, they give you shit about it. They ask you to stay late EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. like you have nothing better to do than listen to them whine about things not being done for another two hours. SCHEDULE US when you need us. Don’t get mad when no one stays late.

    Fuck Everything About Working Here

I was hired as a PA at Target in a little shit hole of a town in the southeast. When I was hired, I mentioned that my hours were CRITICAL as I was trying to pay my way through life. HR told me not to worry, I was on a higher pay scale and my hours would never be a problem. That’s when they began to fuck me over.

3 weeks later I was finally called to orientation. To this day I think it’s fucking bullshit that you have to wait nearly a month after getting a job offer to start working at Target just so they can save some hours and time by having a bunch of people train all at once.

For the first 2 weeks I got fuck all when it came to my hours. I wasn’t paid until my 5th week of starting the whole application process. I was broke and literally starving most days because Target doesn’t recognize that people might apply to work for them because – I dunno, they need money?

    CASHIER TROUBLES

This is my first post. I have read a ton of these but didn’t think I would end up writing one so here it goes…

I am a cashier team member. I have been with target since Nov. during Hurricane Sandy. I was seasonal at the time and was offered to stay at the end of the holidays.  During my seasonal time I was cross trained for Guest Service and covering GSA breaks within a month of being there. Then a position opened up for GSA.  I applied knowing I was a very strong candidate, I knew this because the ETLs and STLs had told me so and had asked me to apply. So in March I applied.. I had my first interview which went great and then my second interview came along and I pretty much nailed that one too. I was certain that I was going to get the position. I am a hard worker, I put in extra hours, came on my days off, worked holidays even though I have to young children, and got along with everyone at the store.

Come to find out I didn’t get the position.. The reason being “not enough experience on the front end” WHAT THE HELL? You people ask me to apply for it. I am fully trained for it and know how to do the position and you give it to a girl on the sales floor, who barely knows how to use the registers? She knows nothing about Guest Service and every time she is up there she asks me how to do something. I simply tell her to ask the LOD because I don’t want to answer her questions. She hasn’t even been scheduled for a GSA shift yet.

    Now it gets interesting….

  • so im a tps at a target in the south and today something idiotic happened. I had seen a lady with 2000 dollars of cleaning supplies and hba items in her cart and she had 300 coupons, so when my shift ended and i saw her checking out i sat down against the wall at the end of her lane and watched to see how muhc money she would get off with all of her coupons. turns out the gstl was rejecting her coupons because she was using them wrong and the lady got mad and started yelling. i hadnt removed my name tag yet so when she yelled at the LOD and complained she said that i was scrutinizing and harassing her, only because i was security and i was sitting down. The LOD, who at this point was mad because she got yelled at, asked me if i was off the clock when that happened. I of course told her yes, and the LOD said thats unacceptable and “we will be having a talk” which constitutes a write up/counseling. Because she said “i was sitting there observing so i was working off the clock”. I am a top performer at my store and in 8 months on the sales floor was over my own department before i went to tps, so i have never gotten in trouble and am always on time, And just because one guest, who was commiting fraud btw i might add, complains and yells, the LOD is going to counsel me to take out her frustration. Because i was “working off the clock”, a.k.a sitting on my ass apparently. Even thought i never spoke a word to the guest, or had anything to do with the transaction. but oh well, i guess thats target. A criminal complains to them so they penalize their employees.
