Well sad to say after years at target I have left the professional way. The coworkers were the best and will miss them and only some of the ETL’s were nice (the ones who helped me). AND NOW ON TO THE RANT! Position: Cashier – Basically gotta stand in one area for like 8 hrs and ask every single guest for that damn REDCARD. Yeah and the GSTL or LOD would hover around and make sure that you are asking every guest every time. If u don’t guess what that is an automatic coaching or possible termination. The huddles are freaking useless because they go over the same things all the time. The goals are unrealistic “guys we gotta make sure the store is green” and get at least 20-25 a day. Guests were ok or just plain rude AF. The ones with no manners who complained about the prices or the coupons. Or my favorite when their credit card gets declined then they have to announce “this is impossible, I KNOW there is ALOT of money on this card”.

(5) I worked at softlines for 1 year in which I got 15 hour weeks ( even though i had full availability) and 30 hours during December. This year my hours declined from 15 to 10 and to 4. I had to beg my ETL for hours, after asking 3 times, i was given 10 hours a week. I found this very insulting to me as i had to come 2 days a week for 4 or 5 hours each day. I felt that my stupid ETL never recognized or awarded my hard work . I never asked for a thank you or a raise, I simply asked for more hours. I’m a college student and I found it impossible to pay for the most basic essentials with $ 120 monthly paychecks.

Yeah right, bitch I only get 4 hour shifts and they want me to zone 3 areas as well as back up cashier, stupid carry outs, customer service, and now zone this stupid clearance that’s going to be cleared out tommorow anyway? Fuck you! I get paid minimum wage hoe might as well bend me over and fuck me in the ass too. Fuck target. That is all.
Likes(58)Dislikes(13) I wrote a post not too long ago about how I was treated at target. I was a flow team member expected to do the job of twelve people, as quickly as possible. I was coached at least three times a week for being “too slow”, and unwilling to run around the isles with hundred pound boxes of furniture on my back. I unloaded the truck, dragged the palates out the the floor, stocked the shelves, put up signs, built full productions, zoned, cleaned, cashiered, and back stocked. All for the same shitty pay. I was never thanked. In fact, doing all of these things at one time was not enough.
Likes(23)Dislikes(7) So I got a new job as a lube tech for clay cooley chrysler but since my uncle got me a job at target I decided I’m gonna help him on Sundays only since the dealership is closed that day. So yeah I get off early Saturday and recently his mom passed away so he’s taking time off to deal with the sadness and plan a service.
Likes(6)Dislikes(3) okay, let me first start off by saying this is bullshit. I work hard lines, Café, cart attendant, bikes, groceries, and electronics. About a week ago I was working hard lines and they called cashiers for back up like they always do. I decided to go up because nobody else was responding. Some old lady came up to my register and she wanted to purchase a seven dollar lamp. As she scrambled through her purse she managed to pull out a $100 bill (the old ones they don’t use anymore). When she handed it to me. It looked and felt so fake in my hands. At this point I didn’t know what to say so I turned around and asked one of the LODs to come to my register for guest assistance. While the LOD was coming over, I pointed the bill into the light to see if there was a security marking on it and there wasn’t. The LOD told the guest/theift that the security Bar could have came off in the washing machine *awkwardly* the lady then rushed out the door quickly. Later that day I got called to the office and was coached because of that.
Likes(32)Dislikes(10) So I was informed that I was fired from target but they were going to keep me on, I was just out of the system. They gave me hours on slips of papers and when I got my paycheck it was only $98 for a 32 hour week at $10.50 an hour. I checked the written schedule they swapped it saying I only worked 12 hours that week. Very unprofessional and very scandalous, would never recommend them to anyone for a job. It’s clear to see why they’re so anti union.
Likes(16)Dislikes(8) So I recently No Called No Showed, and while I do take most of the blame for not printing my schedule out as I normally do (I don’t trust my management not to change my shit without notifying me), I also blame that shitty View My Schedule online. It said “OFF” for the day in which I committed the crime and so I didn’t go in. Come to find out, I did work and the paper schedule reflected that. Fine. That’s cool. But since when did the LODs stop calling you to make sure whether or not you’re coming in? I know it’s my responsibility to show up on time, but I was kinda shocked no one called.

When I first started getting a red card a week when you aren’t a cashier was considered good. Not anymore. I was up at the register last week and the GSTL shuts off my light and says “I don’t hear you asking about red cards.” Its brought up at every goddamn huddle (and boy I could rant about those huddles which are now hour long zone parties). They even had us do mock transactions. At one of those I was told to be a cheerleader. I had to be bouncy and excited and push the greatness that is red cards.

I was in charge of doing all the cardboard,it wouldn’t stop coming that is.(the cardboard) but now I’m ok with it when I first started, but now I enjoyed and love working here at Target. Cause Iam a change person now, I love life.Jesus Christ is in my heart and life it self.
