This is my story as a flow team member at Tarshit. I’m not here to piss all over everything Target because I give credit where credit is due. I also won’t pretend that my experience compares to a lot of posters on this site because I realize many have it far worse than me and I don’t want to trivialize the experiences of others. I’m just bitter because my first job ended up being shit.

[ I originally posted this on a job site for people to see, but I’m putting this here cause it fits]
PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING TO TARGET, FOR THIS POSITION.
Right away, I’m gonna say this is not a woman’s job. I’ve only seen one female do this job and she quit after a couple months.
I’m writing this review not exactly to complain, but to help other people who may be in my position, or may end up in my position in the future.
Let’s start from the beginning, I applied for this position with the typical ‘macho’ mindset. “Backroom Team Member? For $9.50 an hour, all we have to do is stock products and carry boxes around? Not having to deal with the customers? Peace of cake!” I thought this would be fun. Wrong.
For one, $9.50 an hour may sound like a decent amount, considering how most other people working minimum wage jobs are pulling in like $7-$8 an hour, but it really isn’t.

Not long ago passed my first year working for Target so it only seems fitting to give “yearly review” for the company I work for. Hopefully if I write it out here, I won’t fucking complain in store where I know I’m pressing my luck as it is.

Well Canada has just seen the last behind of Tarshit. Thank god that’s over. Ahead of schedule. Tarshit said they would close their doors by the end of May. Left with their tail behind their legs on april 12th.
And the media aren’t giving them a tearful farewell either. They’re listing all the mistakes tarshit did over and over again. Arrogance, etc, even comments from people posting on glassdoor. Too bad they didn’t post comments from here as well.

The “management” at this place had a clue. If they realized that as enjoyable and life affirming working at target was we are actually only there to receive money/a paycheck. If they realized that in fact we are adults who are not motivated by stupid games or food. Amazing how the stock price continues to soar, and there is an endless supply of funds to either change a price for a guest or give them a coupon for some perceived inconveience they have experienced (guess what waiting is part of life) and yet for their team members, their target ambassadors the face of the company the people who directly interact with the guests on a regular basis there is no money for them. Babysitters make more than we do.

I got stonewalled in my first round at discovery with my lawsuit against the Target Pharmacy here in Utah. According to Target’s attorney’s there are no “non-privileged” documents. I’m filing a motion to compel that includes voice recording from Target Customer Service giving me a claim # and at the same time telling me I had been denied my claim. I never made a claim, just a complaint.
I asked for video but I was told there is none but yet somehow I don’t believe them…

I have this one ETL who have a stupid habit of waiting until she see’s me with a guest to hop her little fluffy ass over to my register and proceeds to PRETEND to be helping me bag the customers items and then tries forcing a red card down their damn throat!! And when they decline she says okay and walks away….well bitch wasn’t u just helping me bag well wtf happened??? It’s uncomfortable and makes me look as if I’m not doing my job!! Then there’s this other one who does the same shit!!!! If it’s that damn serious maybe you shouldn’t be a ETL but yet a CASHIER!!

First time posting and let me start off by saying how happy I am to have found the site. I started as a cashier back in October. I was interviewed mid-september when I was given the job on the spot. I loved it at first, target has been one of my favorite stores for the longest time and it still is however I have a newfound outlook on the people who run the store. as soon as I began my cashier position I discovered which GSTL would be my friend and which would be my foe. about4 months into my position I was injured while lifting a pack of water and it ended up pulling my shoulder to the point where I could not cashier anymore.

Yesterday was my one year, no reviews, no feedback, no nothing!! I am operator/ fitting room person and never get much of any direction!

oh man! This place is so mismanged you would almost think it was some kind of joke. Just about everything that is mentioned during the new hire orientation is a lie. My store just hired a GSA with no prior experience.”Reviews” just happened. These people want to act like they are a corporate company fulfilling a mission, they are so far off the mark it’s crazy. You don’t give a person cents as a raise and think you are a reputable business person clearly management has no respect for their workers and that is evident by the lack of a consistant schedule or living wage. Make it right for the guest.., what a total B.S. Statement that is. I must have been a terrible person in a past life and working at target is my punishment.
