It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. I’ve calmed down quite a bit (regarding Target; I have a calm disposition), and I think that I’m finally growing numb to Target’s shenanigans. It’s taken almost 5 years with 2 stints at 2 different stores, but it’s finally happening.
I’m not totally numb though!

Honestly, when I first joined Target…I loved my job.
The people were nice (at first glance), we had a great team, and great management that would actually make it fun to get redcards. Then it all crumbled.
Somewhere down the line, our store went to sh*t. And it hasn’t come back since.
I started off (as many do), as a cashier. Then, with the help of management, I worked my way up to photo – and then finally GSA. That’s when I began to hate my job.

Many are mislead by the sophisticated marketing strategy that Target puts forth, but the reality is that Walmart treats their employees better. When we think of Walmart a lot of times we think of the elderly greeter at the door or the disabled sales associate working on the floor. The reason you wouldn’t see this at Target is because productivity is the key success driver!

1. Lazy people who do nothing but stand around, chat, play with their cell phones, take leisurely walks around the store, drink coffee, and take extra long breaks. They do all of that, that is if they even bother to show up at all, and NOTHING is ever done or said to them.

I work at a newer target that recently opened. When our target opened we had tons of hours to give out. Working in electronics, I honestly did not mind it at all. I was working 40 hours a week for about two months…. After about two months, everything started to settle in and I guess we were like any other target. I’m sure that most of you know what AAR is, (accessory attachment rate), and how we are rated and how we are always competing for #1 in the district.

I was working last week in softlines. I blazed through the first three of my four sections leaving only shoes (which I had zoned first but hey there was a sale) . One of my fellow team members came up with a huge cart she was told by our LOD to sort. With two and a half hours left I decided to help her sort the heaping cart so that she could get back to her area which was really a mess.

So our normal manager is out with a shoulder surgery and he’s been out for 3 months. I don’t care what anyone says he is a damn good manager and deserves to work in a better place to target. Even though I get mad at him he does just sit in his office he actually helps out on the floor. He worked his way up from cart attendant to manager.

I’ve been reading topics here for quite some time now, and now I feel I want to express myself as well.
Note I’M only 17 and the other cart attendants are 16 and 17. Other nights they have past cart attendants closing.
I’ve been at Super Target since October as a cart attendant and USED to cashier, but haven’t been scheduled at it in months.

I have been at Target for a year now. I was hired on for the flow team. At first, I didn’t mind it one bit. I actually enjoyed coming in everyday for a while. I always worked the floor with everyone until one day about a month in, the team lead decided she wanted to train me for the softlines unload. At first I was like, okay this won’t be so bad. Boy was I ever wrong. Right away I had issues with two of the ladies that worked softlines. They were always disagreeing with each other, starting fights and trying to pull me into it. What made it worse is that right about this time was when we started to get the back-to-school clothes in, and the trucks were 1200+, which is pretty big for our small store.
