Every other department got their reviews 2 or 3 weeks ago. But us we barely started getting ours today. I get mine tomorrow and I am not very excited. For what for the change they’ll be giving us? Its all BS, in the end they sit you down tell you, you did okay only to give you pennies. Why is that? oh because your absences that you had good reasons for being absent. Not like some of these kids that call in last minute because they were out drinking the night before. So all the cross training and the staying late or coming in early or coming in on your days off doesnt count for anything? All the hard work doesnt pay off at Target. You can work at this place for a lifetime and they will never be happy with the effort you put in. The etls see you struggling trying to keep up with the work they demand and just look the other way. Instead of them helping you pick clothes off the floor its so much easier to call a team member that was busy putting up stray and telling them to pick it up. And as if its not good enough they make a second round and ask why you still haven’t done it. Just because they have a business degree doesn’t give them a right to look down on us. They can bend down the same way we do and pick that shit off the floor. They can use their damn hands and check out some guests or put up some stray. Really I look forward to the day where I can say fuck you Target and Good Bye! Oh and the fucking Red Cards!

When I got hired I was told that if you available to work from 8am to 12:00am I would get more hours now I realized that is nothing but a god dam fucking lie, phony and fake. During the holiday season I didn’t get home until 1AM and I had to return back to Target at 8AM without enough time to sleep and no time to rest no overtime no benefit. After the holiday the LOD, ETL and TL wrote me up for not following instruction:
I was put on corrective action reports twice in less than 6 months for more lie, phony and fake. It is such a waste of money and time for those LOD ETL keep typing and typing, printing and printing, signing and signing those corrective action reports for more lie, phony, fake and making all those false statement sitting on that comfortable chair, while other TM are breaking their legs and getting backache standing on the selling floor working hard.
The corrective action reports are as follow:

I thought this was only at my store, but after reading a previous post, I think now many targets are doing this. so right now, if you are a cashier and you don’t get a REDCard during your shift, you have to go see the LOD at the end of the day, who basically asks you “What do you think you could have done differently to get a REDCard?” Umm, IDK, you fucking tell me? is it that hard for them to grasp that people just don’t want the damn REDCards? I don’t see the LODs and TLs out there helping the store get them. I’d love for an LOD of a TL to actually stand in front of a register for a whole shift and try to sell at least one REDCard. The best part about the whole situations is that the LODs expect you to figure out how to sell them, instead of them coming up with better ways to push them. I’m sorry, but I do not get paid enough to deal with REDCards. you want to tell me it’s one of my core roles as a cashier? well, news flash buddy: my main core role is vibing with my “guest” so they have a positive experience. how do you think nagging them incessantly about REDCards makes them feel? Is that the image they want associated with Target? W/e, it’s their store, if they want to scare all the customer out of the store, I say fuck it. At least Target isn’t my life’s priority.

The people who never show up, slack off, don’t do their jobs, get to stay and not get a coaching. Those of us that actually DO their job and DO show up? One call off and it’s as if you murdered their child.
There’s a girl that works there that BULLIES her peers, yet they won’t do anything about it! If you have a problem, they just put it on someone else. They lie to cover up their mistakes.
Normally, if you’re a TL and you tell a TM about what you heard in your meeting/stuff nobody else is supposed to know (i.e. coaching) that’s grounds for firing.. Oh, but not here! If I found out somebody told others about a coaching I got, I would most definitely be PISSED.
Cart attendants get nothing. They bust their hineys, and nothing to show for it. Right now, ALL of guest service is looking for other jobs, and half the front lanes. Tired of getting overlooked for a job well done, and getting treated like crap. But apparently WalMart is doing a good job at fixing their management problems. I feel like corporate doesn’t even do anything about your complaints either..
Side note. Does anyone know why a store would constantly be getting visits? 🙂

I have been here for 7 years. SEVEN YEARS! I transferred to this store. Thinking I can better my experience at Target and promote. My first time applying for TL hadn’t even gotten my interview yet, and I was already hearing that someone else had gotten the position. My second time, my HR treated me horribly throughout the entire interview. Making me feel like crap about everything I said. Ever since that interview, she has treated me even more horribly. Recently I had issues with my pay check. My HR told me it was my fault, and gave me attitude and lied that she “can’t do anything about it”. Bull. I’ve had my old HR help me with a problem with a paycheck before. You only get promoted if you’re a favorite of HR. They even made a TL position for HR just so they can promote a favorite. You’re only gold if you get RedCards. The favoritism that goes on in this store is ridiculous. I get all kinds of guests commenting about how great I am. But, I get nothing for it. I had been trying SO hard to promote, but the way they are treating me is awful. I can’t believe these LODs even have a job after being open for 2 years. I dread going into work now. Screw you, Target!

So I’ve been working as a cashier at Target for almost 2 years now and it has increasingly gotten more and more intolerable to work at my location. When I started working at Target they barely cared about their REDCard sales at all. If you got one a week, then great job. With new managers coming in throughout the time, it has gone from just gently nagging us about shoving these REDCards down peoples throats, to forcing us to make every single guest get a STUPID REDCard!! I’ve been “talked” to every day for the past week about making sure that I’m “driving” REDCard sales and that I am “engaging” with the guests. I’m engaging all right, I just don’t want to force these innocent people to give all their money to Target.
It just depends on how horrible these next few days go, but unless they stop telling me to interact with the guests, which I’m already doing perfectly well, then I might be quitting soon.
They love you if you get REDCards, and they completely ignore you if you don’t get any.

This company should be put out of business for all of the ass hole people who work their. I just was hired last month after working for Michaels Arts and Crafts, which honestly wasn’t to bad of a job I just couldn’t deal with the 12 hours a week. I needed more so I started to apply for different jobs. Was hired for target and everyone acted so lovely at first, I eventually met my LOD for Hardlines, and he was nice, but also the worst! He non stop hit on me every time we would get alone he would make comments on me being pretty and such and I’m thinking you shouldn’t be doing this, even as friendly as it is. It’s not appropriate for a work place, so I always felt extremely uncomfortable. So back to my story. I ended up calling out three times and being fired. Need I remind you all be for the No Call No Show. I had to attend a funeral and knew no one to cover my shift so even when I asked around it was like oh i work that day or oh im to busy. So I had to call out for it because that is not something I was going to miss, and coincidentally I had an emergency and someone was in the hospital had to call out for that as well, along with my 101 degree fever a week or two before. The worst thing about it. I asked the Assistant Store Manager the last time before i even hesitated to call if I NEEDED to come in, before she fired me! It was the worst excuse of a job. I held back my anger and walked out politely. After my hardlines manager basically demanded my name tag and stupid discount back. I mean really. 10 percent doesn’t do much anyways.

I finally am out of there! 2 years in that hell hole was enough… I will try to just highlight the major reasons I absolutely hate that place.
After 3 months of working cashier, they asked me to apply for the softlines brand position that was open. Let me warn anyone who is thinking about this…do not, I repeat DO NOT! apply for Brand… To break down brand, you do the TL’s job in SL, while they sit upstairs and gossip about you behind your back and you only make a quarter more than base pay. So fast forward a few months I’m balancing college and work, but my quadriplegic father gets extremely sick. The day after my family and I had a meeting with the doctors on whether or not to end life-support my ETL and TL call me into the office and put me on CA, my ETL tells me that I am not committed enough to brand because I had missed too many shifts to see my dying father… I then asked to step down from brand because the stress of college, work, and my dad was just too much, and I was promptly told that I could only either transfer stores or be promoted. So being stupid and at the end of my rope I quit school so I wouldn’t lose my job, again I was young and stupid.

So I started in November of last year as a seasonal person and when the season was over I got handed the paper that said such n such of a date was my last day. Which I was pretty ok with not coming back at that point I thought well its not my loss so I will just stick it out until then. I did stick it out and it was about three days until my last day and my TL gave me a call and said well we decided to keep you some hours just open up and we chose you! I wanted to cry but not for joy at all. I was like well shit I need a job for rent and bills and that sort of thing so I was like …. sure I’ll stay (already knowing how much I was going to hate it)
So that TL was on and off for our store to train to be a LOD at another store so she could move up at a totally different store. This one particular TM in the area I worked in which was softlines, was training to be a TL. I asked where is she going to be a TL because someone told me that you cannot be a TL over the area you were in before because then everyone you worked with would look at you like you are still the same with no power over them, basically they wouldn’t respect you at all, which I could see that. Well as time went on the TL we had moved on a month before her date for the new store and the girl training for TL got her spot. (So I guess what I said before is not true, about being over a different area that is, the respect thing is though).
