Target Sucks - We Hate Target and We Know We're Not Alone.

Are team members forced to work or prohibited from requesting Thanksgiving or Black Friday off?
There is no corporate policy mandating that people have to work on Thanksgiving or Black Friday and our staffing needs vary from store to store. Across the company, about one-third of Target’s store team members are scheduled to work on Thanksgiving and less than two-thirds of our team members are scheduled to work on Friday. Team member preferences were considered when creating the schedules and our store leadership teams are continuing to have conversations with their team members to address any concerns.

I think there should be a correction…YES Team Members are told they have to work Thanksgiving…they are not given a choice or asked to work.

The customer is usually NEVER right.

I’ve been at Target for a little over a month and I’ve come to realize that the customer is never right. Yesterday i had some bitch come to my line and be a huge ice queen. She didn’t even acknowledge my friendly greeting. When I was done packing her shit she made a face and complained about how heavy it was when it wasn’t. She had me rebag it and was smirking the whole time. I wanted to wipe that smirk off her stupid face. I didn’t even say goodbye when she left. Stupid bitch. If I had been in line instead of working I’d have given that bitch a piece of my mind. Even the customer behind her said she was a huge bitch!

  • So I started out at one store as a flow team member and I was really happy and very proficient at my job. My HR and STL thought I would be a good fit for a TL so I agreed and they set me up for the interviews, however they didn’t have any openings at my store so my interviews were with another store. I happen to live in between the two stores so at the time distance was not really an option. So I went and interviewed and did extremely well on all the interviews and they offered me the job.

I just happen to start the week before Christmas as the Consumables Team Lead and it was two weeks prior to our PFresh remodel. Oh and not to mention they hadn’t had a CTL for like 2 months or so. So first order of business was to get my department on track with all the stupid suspect date audits and then to see whats going on with the remodel. Well everything seemed to be going well and then I started back to school in January and everything just started going down hill from then on. My ETL complained because I was in School and had limited availability but yet other TL’s and TM’s were in school and never heard the ETL’s bitch because of that. I was under the impression that Target wanted you to go to school and better your self. So I got through that semester with no problem and then they wanted me to change up my school schedule so I would have different availability for closing shifts. So I changed it up. Oh and I decided to change departments on my own because the CTL job was just to stressful for me and I got looked down on for stepping up and asking for help and to change areas.

  • I TRULY,TRULY ,HATE TARGET WITH EVERY BEING IN MY FIBER..I have worked for those selfish, blood sucking leaches for 5 long ass years and let me tell you it takes a strong stomach to digest the bullshit I have endured over the years. SHORT summary working their, your bound to commit yourself in the asylum. OK 1st yr coworker are banging the ETLs in the electronics room. Coworkers have sex in the dirty ass, smelly roach infested staircase. Yr 2 Short pay, long hours and no type of care for employees what’s so ever. 3 ye got prgenant lost it due to stress from work, being told to carry baby wipes off palettes while pregnant anyway. One of my door key holders only teamleads says to me after I loose my 2nd child due from stress and overwork from this hellover job, how many more babies can I loose..Really are you freaking kidding me? NO WAIT THERES MORE, so I report to my HR like any sane, disrespected, employee and you know they did, NOTHING…During my harsh times a couple of death in the family, I was told to try to over look my pain for the sake of the company on a no truck, just pull night.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Well, I just quit Target and I already feel better. I was plagued by incompotent, irrational managers. They always complained and corrected everyone around them even though they, themselves never obeyed the rules that they so righteously enforced. It amazed me that these people who have to have a college degree to be an ETL are this stupid. Example: I showed up to work one Sunday morning to set up the new ad. It was 6 am and the team was ready to go…except the ETL’s that were supposed to be there. I got the team started and found out that the ad wasn’t even finished being scanned in. Arrgh! I proceeded to finish scanning while the team put up what was ready. At 6:30am the ETL’s stroll in. They didn’t even ask what was going on or offer to help. They then took an hour lunch at 10 am and the ad wasn’t even done yet. That Monday I told the STL what had happened and she did nothing about it. Some nerve! The next week I get pulled into the office for being “grumpy” at work. WTF! In any other job when someone is grumpy you leave them alone and chalk it up to a bad day, not pull them into the office and piss them off more! They give more consideration to the employees there and hardly any to the lower managers. Employees can complain about a manager and the ETL’s and STL will crucify the lower manager. In other jobs when a manager gets on your case you do your fucking job, not run to a higher manager and complain. Target is backwards. Employees have the power and lower management gets crapped on. That’s why I had enough and quit 20 minutes before my shift started. BEST DAY EVER!!

Such a fuuuuuuuunnnn place to work.

I love my job. I love that I work with the laziest dumbest fucking fuckheads on the planet. But enough about the team leads and LOD’s. I love that there are many times when I come in a whole 2 to 3 hours before certain team members or team leads but since they like to kiss ass, they get their breaks and lunches before I do. I love the rude, ugly, fat, stupid fuckhead guests who constantly argue with me because they are all rocket scientists and know my companies policies on certain things a lot better than I do. I mean, after all, they are all welfare recipients, so obviously they are the authorities and the poster boys and girls for what a genius looks like..

    Treated VERY Unfairly

I worked for Target over a year ago ,but I am still completely disgusted by the was I was treated. I hired into a store as a Senior Team Lead over Softlines and I didn’t really have any issues while I was there. Unfortunately, that store closed 3 months after I hired in, so I had to either take a buy out package or transfer. I ended up transferring to another store closer to home, and that was the BIGGEST mistake of my life. Before my transfer went through, the management at the new store wouldn’t even tell me what depertment I would be overseeing- it was some BIG secret… My first day working at the new store, I knew that I was going to be miserable… All of the ETL’s acted like snotty high school kids. If you did’t “fit in”, they would talk about you behind your back and make your life miserable- I witnessed them talking badly about another member of management on my first day there.

After I was there for about a week, they decided to put me in charge of Presentation. I had never done anything in presentation on a large sccale before, but they expected me to perform my job like a seasoned manager.  My ETL would constantly get on me about my team’s performance, but I had no idea what it was they were supposed to be doing!

    Oh Target, you’ll never change

I’ve been working at a target in califronia the past couple months. And it’s amazing how one night I can really like it, and feel very confindent and the next night feel like i’m going to be fired the next day i show up for work. I work in both softlines and hardlines and like both just the same.

Besides pretty much doing the impossible every night, you know zoning not only your area but someone elses because of all the callouts that happen on any given night it’s daunting. Not just that but just the little rules around the store.

I think this will just be a general rant but geez does this place need to change a few things.

    Awesome quitting stories

So granted we all hate Target (why else would we even be here) but anyone have any good quitting stories that they did or they witnessed, or hell lets throw in feasible what ifs.

I suppose I should go first so I was playing around one day with the Idea of getting Tattooed on my ass the following “Target can suck my (arrow points to my chocolate starfish)” and pretty much would go around my executives “office” (more like a closet) saying “Fuck you I quit, I hate this place so much I permanently marked my body with a message to you all” and then proceed to drop trow and moon the dumb bitch. I never did it of course but man that would have been funny.

Another Idea that came to me was gathering up all the PDA’s and crushing them in the baler and just walking out.

That’s all I feel like typing for now come one someone else indulge us with some humorous stories.

    Treated Unfairly

So I used to work at Target (2008-2010). I was hired as seasonal and loved my job. I moved overnight to get a full time position on the planogram team. There was 7 (including my team lead) of us on this team and thank goodness we were not an overnight store because than we would get nothing done. Out of the 6 (I took myself out of the count here), 2 of them right away hated me for talking to someone who was in high school. Really??
