Target in Kemah, Texas
So I’ve been with target for 2 months now, and this is what I’ve gotten so far. I work as cart attendant and rarely as cashier. I love being outside doing carts(if it wasn’t so hot out). But every time i get one side caught up and the other side is completely empty, our LOD asks me to cover a couple of breaks. So when i’m done with that and i go back out to do carts, 5 minutes into it, i get a call on the walkie saying “cart attendant, we have no carts on blue side”. and I can’t say anything back to them except “that’s clear”. It’s like they’re completely oblivious as to why they have none. That, and now they have me come in from 1-5pm almost everyday except Sunday(i close), so from 8am-1pm no one is getting carts. SO when i come in, we have none and i get a “talking to” that i need to start hustling to get the carts in.
My two supervisors, who are the worst people ever, can never be found on the front lanes like they have to be. and they had a meeting with our STL(awesome guy) about something and according to the other gstl(awesome guy too), my supervisors tried to throw him under the bus saying how he’s the one who no one can ever find not them. but yet when i ask him for change, i get in in 5 min. when i ask my supervisors, it takes them 1-2 hours. I really hope my supervisors get fired or transferred soon. Because i love the other members there except those two.
Since it’s summer, we’re starting to get new people. mainly more cashiers. well we got this one 19 year old few weeks back and they had him down for cashier and carts. Well one day he was cashier and the great gstl told me just help him bag and try to help him out. so i was like “sure no problem. i can do that.” so i go over and help him out for about 30 mins. He was good on register, only thing i had to help with is the codes for produce. when my supervisor saw me helping she said “when he is done with that guest, i need to speak to you.” so we got done and i went to see what she wanted. she told me “i don’t want you helping him out because you’re no experienced enough yet. so just hop on a register.” I didn’t say anything but i was like the only reason I’m not experienced enough is because ya’ll don’t train anyone around here. you give us a book, fake credit/debit cards and checks with a few items and tell us to scan, and then you leave us and say when you’re done, go shadow someone. One of the things that pisses me off doing cashier at target are those damn red cards! They get on to us if we can’t get any. it’s because no one wants any! and they tell us just keep telling the guest about the program. so I’m basically to keep talking about it until i get punched or yelled at. fuck that! and i always tell my guests that we receive little to no training on cashier.
Now, starting July 1st as cart attendant, not only do we get the bottle recycling(which never has a bag-.-) we also have to get all the trash from the cans outside to the ones inside……. Don’t know why, i was just told that. Oh, and since my target is in the rich area, we get treated as if we are stupid, low level society, and not able to do anything with our lives..
So i’ll say this as my final thought. FUCK the customers. FUCK my supervisors. FUCK my job and target. and FUCK Red Cards!!

As cart attendant i have to throw away all the expired food after inventory. so few days ago i get called up to gs to do that. i looked and saw food(box/cans) that have been expired for 3+ months. also one that was 2 years old before. found out that target just shoves the old stuff in the back behind the fresh ones. that's just fucking nasty.
Technically people are supposed to be FIFO'ing (first in, first out), but I know at my store only a few people actually do it. Flow actually found some juiceboxes covered in mold today, which was gross, but the E/TLs didn't seem too worried that it had been sitting out on the shelf for however long.
Target doesn't seem to be too aware about food safety rules in general, though.
