    5 minute rule???

I started at target last year for seasonal and worked my ass off so I wouldn’t have to look for another job come new years. Couple weeks ago I am told they are keeping me on as a permanent team member. Two days ago I call in because I’m spending all morning in the hospital for coughing blood the previous night. Today I call in because I’m having troubles breathing to tell them I will be late 10 minutes. Next thing I know I come in and they say they have to let me go because of the 5 minute rule?! The freak is that? I’ve never had any disciplinary actions against me, no complaints, nothing. I get that store at least 5 red cards a day! And all of a sudden my attendance is bad because I’ve been late 20 percent of the time because even if I clock in 5 minutes that’s counted as late and a point against me??? I call bullshit and I’m sure something’s going on. I’ve only called out one time since I’ve worked there. And all of a sudden this?

    Okay so

of course I loved my job at first but now I’m just over it. I’m over rude people, red cards, and are you open? When your light is clearly on but when your light is off rude fucks just walk right on in… Honestly on this site I’ve noticed yall seem to pick on each other cause of the positions but I’ve worked flow, toys, electronics, hardlines, and cashier. Guess what?! We all have it hard one way or another! From cashiers getting chewed out for not getting red cards to hardlines not finishing baskets of stray fast enough. Target sucks okay bye

    Stressed and Tired PA

I really need to vent or I’m going to go insane. I’ve worked for Target for a little over 3 years. I started out in a seasonal salesfloor position and have slowly been taking on more responsibility over the years. I became a team trainer, learned the ropes at guest service(showed up to work with an injured foot and could only stand, so I learned), worked for a bit in electronics without being officially cross trained, and eventually made my way to the PFresh team. I was forced into the department so they could fire a girl that was working over there. No one ever told me that specifically, but I’m not dumb. It’s easier to hire a new TM for the salfesfloor an move one of the hardest workers in the store to a struggling department. The old perishable assistant at my store really sucked. He never got anything done, and the tasks that did get done were always half-assed. I practically was doing his job for him. He quit last summer, and it was only natural that I take over the department. Our market team is small. It was only myself and another guy in the department, but I figured out a way to make things work. Within the first month of taking over Pfresh/Market, we saw sales increase and our our department scores sky rocketed. I was really zealous about the fresh start. I reorganized and cleaned our work center from top to bottom, total overhaul. I won’t take complete credit. The other guy, my right hand man, was such a big support and helped me out so much. I don’t think there is a way to thank him enough. Things were on track and looking good anyway. It was an exciting time to be working at Target.

    Fired after 5 1/2 years

fired after 5 1/2 years for not getting one pull done my douche bag team lead who barely ever leaves the office said I wasn’t working hard enough I was busy all day with customers and then when he comes back and says why isn’t this done I said I was busy and I did five of them already I just wasn’t capable of doing that last one and I asked for help but was turned down and then he piled more workand expected me to get it all done in 30 minutes when it would’ve taken anybody else in one hour I mean that’s not the only thing wrong with that place we had rats in the back room and when I tell the LOD they just ignored me so I hate target I will never shop there again and and never to tell anybody to go to target

  • I have worked for target for about 2 1/2 years… I became disillusioned with the place after about 6 months, got grumpy, bitched a bit here and there but just brushed that place off of me when I walked out the door…

I will say that I am rather fortunate by ways of the ETL’s in my store… Yeah target doesn’t train any one for shit and you basically are left to crash and burn but I did and still do have some cool managers that are more than willing to help out… The pay blows for the work I am expected to do all day and that’s shitty but i can pay my bills right now so I guess that’s all that matters…

  • Where the fuck do I begin? Maybe I’ll start with my worthless ass Team leads who seem to always forget what they told you to do 3 minutes ago? Nah because 2 out of the 6 of them were cool. Maybe I’ll start with my Snitch ass coworkers who loaf all fucking day causing a back jam in work? Nah that’s too easy.. How bout I start with the bullshit reason I got let go? Yeah I’ll start there… Perfect. Grab your Popcorn and juju beez and large beverage for this one.. Little over 3 months ago 2 co workers of mines named Renell 25 and ex-con Terrence 47 (who loves to tell everybody he did 8 years) got into a shouting match almost coming to blows. After a 2 week investigation the 2 workers are back on schedule with a final warning I guess..

    Oh Target…

So I started working for target in July 2014. So it’s been about 6 months? Or 5? I don’t know and I don’t care.

You know, I went through this stage where when I first started as a cashier, I loved it. I thought “man, maybe I can move up and stay here for a bit.” Then the next stage was me being depressed  because I’ve given up a lot of things because of working here. Then when I was trained in Guest Services I again thought it wasnt so bad. And I accepted that it’s life. Now, I’m in the stage where I hate work and I’d rather hang by my toes rather than go into target. And I’ve been feeling this way for the longest. I’m thinking of quitting but I have bills to pay and I kinda live in buttfuck nowhere. So it’s hard. I’m trying to make it to a year. But that shit is hard. You know, it really isn’t about the “guests” that piss me off because I could really care less about them if they’re assholes. My concern is the  fact that management sucks. lODs are ridiculously full of themselves and my store manager is an asshole as well. I’m just not sure what to do. I’m just looking for some people that understand.

    Final Days of Tarshit

Let me just start by saying if you read my earlier posts on this site, I really didn’t hate any higher ups. In fact, I looked up to them and one day wanted to be them. When I first read this site,  I couldn’t imagine how any managers or workers could be so awful to all of you. And I’m so sorry for doubting you guys. Today I think is the day I’m job hunting. It’s been a long seven months and I’ve watched my brand new target go from something I was so proud to be a part of to something only nightmares could conjur up. Over the past few months, my STL has become a prick. Honestly, I feel like everyone higher up actually. But the funny thing is, they’re only pricks to MY team. I don’t get why instocks has to be the bitch of the store and take on the workload of so many teams, but we do. And of course they’ll be the hardest on the trainer right? Guess who that would be. Me. When the TL isn’t around, ohhhhh they come to me.

    Are you serious target???

Got hired as a seasonal worker. Worked a mix of things. Eventually wound up in electronics because I’m knowledgeable in the area. I did pretty well and they told me I did. They asked me to stay after most of the seasonal workers got cut. I agreed and they kept me in electronics. I had a shift the next day where I just did pulls. I did a ridiculous amount of them and worked my ass off. However, the next day, the LOD called me in and said that my warranties in electronics were in the red. LIKE THAT WAS MY FUCKING PROBLEM. LIKE I RAN ELECTRONICS OR SOME SHIT. Anyways, she told me that if I didnt step it up tomorrow, they are going to remove me from electronics because I dont want to sell their shitty warranty to people. EVERY FUCKING NIGHT FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS, they have put me in electronics BY MY FUCKING SELF with no mid!

    Those coupons

So my Target, which shall remain locationless and not in Charlotte, NC, is one of the worst for AP and theft. The AP people are good, the community is sh!t. My gripe is with the couponers that fraud the store out of thousands of dollars every day, and the managers do zero (0) about it. I’m a seasonal, started in mid-Nov. I was a victim of a BJ’s coupon (a COSTCO like membership store) where the person was buying large amounts of mucinex and basically getting them free because the coupons were for $10 off and Target sells the mucinex for 9.79. You can only use the coupons at the BJs store. I was ashamed of myself after I took a second look at the coupons later and realized I had been had. Manager did and said nothing about it other than maybe next time.
