I’m hoping that by writing this it will calm me down
I have worked for target for about 2 1/2 years… I became disillusioned with the place after about 6 months, got grumpy, bitched a bit here and there but just brushed that place off of me when I walked out the door…
I will say that I am rather fortunate by ways of the ETL’s in my store… Yeah target doesn’t train any one for shit and you basically are left to crash and burn but I did and still do have some cool managers that are more than willing to help out… The pay blows for the work I am expected to do all day and that’s shitty but i can pay my bills right now so I guess that’s all that matters…
My store has a faster turn over rate than a fast food restaurant… I swear every time I come in its like I know people less and less… Not to mention I have gone through 7 ETL’s in the two years I’ve been there… Really good people too… I’m glad they escaped…
You’re probably wondering why I’m even posting to begin with… Here’s why…My STL put his two weeks in before Christmas and left… He was a nice guy, Not really STL material tbh but he tried his damnedest and did a decent job… He got shit on by the dick head district manager a lot and he finally said fuck it and found a much better job… I was sad to see him go but happy he was escaping…
It took me about 2 weeks to finally meet this new STL and prior to meeting him I heard nothing but negative things from every one… I would remind them that he was probably trying to make a name for himself and it’s actually his job to come in here and change shit whether you like it or not… So he’s really not an asshole he’s just doing his job… Then….I met him…
He came into my department (I work in grocery) and introduced himself and shook my hand… Then proceeded to tell me how to do my job… Told me that I basically need to power zone my entire department every single day… I told him that that’s a great idea but it’s not going to happen because A. It’s unrealistic and nothing will get accomplished considering we are short staffed and B. It’s really going to fuck with flow teams ability to rotate thus causing their job to be twice as long than it can be…
