Job Phone Interview, Where art Thou?

So Last Monday I got a call from a woman at Target stating they want to set up a phone interview for Wednesday at 5pm. I told her that it would be fine and thanked her. I been unemployed for almost 4 months now and had little success with getting interviews, so I was fine with a phone interview.

I really liked working at Target but…

REDcards. I really like working retail, as weird and stupid as that sounds. I love helping people even with the tiniest things because that’s just something that gives me a lot of fulfillment, I work hardlines most of the time and I love being able to help a guest find something they need and hearing them appreciate it makes me so happy that I can buzz the rest of my shift away.

  • First post on the board and I cant wait to share my experience as a cashier. I was hired for pricing with the understanding i would not have to do anything else. After being hired, they said that cross training is necessary and I will have to be trained as a cashier for backup only. I actually believed it so I trained with a trainer and that was that. Trained for a day and was certified. After about a month, I was scheduled for cashier in a 4 hour shift.

    Leaving this shithole

It’s pretty fucked up for me to say this, but even though I’ve only been with Target for a little over a year and a half, I’m completely fed up with this bullshit. Red cards are literally all that matters at my store. Literally.
It doesn’t matter how hard of a worker you are, or how many tasks you can accomplish in your down time, or even how “Fast, fun, and friendly” you are. At the end of the day, if you’re not slapping out those goddamn credit cards like candy, you’re not good enough for them.

    FUCK YOU, STL.

My STL is literally the largiest, scummiest, douchiest piece of shit I have ever fucking met. He annoys the literal shit out of everyone for REDcards and doesn’t realize it isn’t fucking easy to get them.

  • My name is Not Important. What is important is what I’m going to rant about. I just fucking hate Target, and the Managers feasting off their Red Cards. Those two months have been an example of hell and I’ve always wanted to give a manager there the bird. This is the time for ranting, and there is nothing Target can do for redemption. And I have many bad things about the red card. It is time for me to rant and it is time for for you to read. My anti-Target crusade begins here.

    REDcards are killing me

I hate REDcards with every fiber of my being. I started working here just about a month and a half ago, which i know isn’t super long, but I’m dying here. I love working at target honestly, I love the customers and everyone I work with. What I don’t love? The goddamn motherfuckin REDcards.

  • I’ve been working as Plano TM for 14 years. Two things keep me here : I love what I’m doing and need medical insurance. Not the lazy ETL’s , HR who cannot answer ANY questions (“here is the number for TMSC”) or STL who behaves like 13 year old (“we do not have the crayons in stock, but we can ship them to your house”).

Red Cards can kiss my hairy ***

So, I’ve been working at Target for about 10 months now and have to say it has been a roller coaster of emotions. Sometimes I love working there, sometimes I want to mow down everyone with an AK-47. It’s a bitter-sweet job to say the least. I will say however, that I’m EXTREMELY lucky that I didn’t apply for a cashier position because of what I’m about to tell you.
