I’ve been working at the same store now for almost 3 years in the Gorcery Dept.(Super Target) and I have to say I have seen so much nonsense that I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll just paint with broad strokes for now. Warning, rant incoming.

(20) I started working overnights doing back stock at a NYC target recently, and I already hate it.
The TLs don’t really give you any direction. I’ve been relying on coworkers for most of my knowledge. Luckily most of them have been nice. My issue is with the work load.
Likes(8)Dislikes(5) SO I LEFT THE BACKROOM AT THE SAME TIME AS MY STORE MANAGER, WITH BOXES IN MY HAND (3-4 not that it matters) I started stocking an incap. Also take this into consideration I’ve been here a year or so I’m constantly on my knees in a cooler and it just is no good on the body on top of that I unload every truck.

When I go to Google it, people say it’s a debt collector from a AMO 3rd party for not paying you’re target red card! The voice message mentioned my name and everything! I don’t have a target credit card! I have the debit card but that’s it. Anyone else have this happen?

I am originally from Iowa but I have an aunt who lives in Madison, and I needed the extra money for college so I moved to Madison for the summer. I was hired on the spot during my interview to work in the Cafe, due to my food retail experience in working in campus dining. Things didn’t go so well from the start when I barely got a few days of training.

Anyways, I work flow team and I have never felt so under-appreciated in my whole life. (Sidenote, I did say work because sadly at the moment I am still employed with Target, but only for another 9 days) Being on flow team presents an unrealistic work load for the amount of people and time that we get.
Likes(17)Dislikes(1) I have read a whole lot of post describing Leadership stating that you have to get a certain amount of redcards a day. This is a load of shit. I don’t have a handbook to reference but I think I remember it saying that you only have to mention it during your transactions with the guest, or promote it. Doesn’t say shit about getting a certain amount. They are hiring you as cashiers not a sales person.

First, I should note as to why I started working for Target: up until recently, I was happily employed at a company which paid me $12 an hour. At the time, being that I had a stable, decent-paying job, I purchased a new car, a 2007 Jeep, since not only was my then-car more than 20-years-old and failing, but also being that my job was more than 30 miles from my home. In addition to that bill, I had a hospital bill relating to my first job. In short, I was (am) knee-deep in debt.
