    Black Friday Survival Guide

Hey Target friends. Now that it’s November, it’s time to prepare for Black Friday. What would you add to a survival guide? I’ll start:

    • Avoid Karens At All Costs
      • There are 6 words that haunt employees’ dreams every night: “can I speak to a manager?” On Black Friday, there’s no time for that. Keep your distance from all “Karens,” along with soccer moms. This is their one opportunity to make the holidays perfect and “YOU’RE NOT GOING TO RUIN IT, PUNK.”
    • Buy A Riot Shield
      • Riot shields are long enough to cover an average-sized person from the top of the head to the knees. They are typically used in riot control, which is what you may be dealing with this Black Friday. Protect yourself from the mob, and equip yourself with a riot shield.

  • i still havent been trained to work guest service despite working as a “checkout advocate” (eye roll) for a year.  they keep training people for guest service on their first or second day, though!  the GSTL will give me the keys/leave me in charge to go on their lunch and i dont even know how to do guest service. one of my GSTLs said like 6 months ago that she thinks i would be good for it and ive been asking periodically to be trained there but it still hasnt happened.

    10 Years of Target Hate

Target sucks. FUCK them. But happy anniversary to this website! 10 years now we’ve been hating on the big box of doom. Reading the stories on this site, and how common the bullshit is, amazes me that those cunts are still in business.

    Hey Tarshit, Fuck You!

  • This is a story someone told me, and I will paraphrase from his point of view:

I worked at Target for less than three months to stock, and they let me go for being too slow. It honestly amazed me how back stabby the employees there were, even making things up. I would get yelled at for not doing things — even though those things were not assigned to me.

    Target: slow, fucked, and unfriendly

Alright, so here’s the gig. I was hired back in July at a store in Aurora Colorado and I gotta say: FUCK THIS GOD DAMN JOB.

I was hired for full time in tech, and at first I was excited, but by the second week, I had aged 3-5 years, easily. My experience has been nothing but a collection of passive aggressive half wits who are in charge of the store, or their respective departments. The girl who is in charge of soft-lines and tech is almost NEVER to be seen. Even though on my first day she told me she would be there to assist me with tune in on Mondays. One of the biggest wastes of time, by the way.

    Target is ungrateful :)

I’m 19, from WNY and I work at one of the targets in the area. Not only do they pile tasks on top of tasks I never get a thank you for all the shit I do. I can knock out a flat and three U boats, zone and do reshop and I never get a thank you. Never, people at my location call off multiple times a week and I’ve called off three times this month. I suffer from bipolar disorder and anxiety and I’ve been super sick with the flu.

    Being a SETL is worse

Through all the shit I had to deal with at my target location, I was only there for about 3 months ( my 90 days), and let me tell you being a manger SUCKS. We were responsible for literally everything in front end. I had no access to Cash Office so on the days when I was alone I was left with no extra money for the front of store, and a lot of angry guests due to me having to close down registers.

A couple of months feels like eternity

Been employed with Target for a couple of months, and it’s honestly become a chore already. I don’t mind the hard work, but the pay should be higher to match the amount of the work they expect us to have done. The whole “Dedicated Business Owner” mantra should be reflected in the hourly wage as well. Their expectations are way too high, and the leaders believe in criticism over motivation.

  • About to hit a month of being brought on and already feel like I’ve been at this job for a decade. I can’t believe I ever thought this company was any good; their at Wizard of Oz level with making  the general public believe their honest and wholesome.

I was actually  excited to start work. I thought that for once I was going to be at a job that I enjoyed and how awesome it was going to be able to save money and pay down my debt, go back to school.

I am not a naive person, I consider myself a realist. But I was still smacked upside the head  with the level of fuckery at this job. I’ve worked retail for almost 15 years. I been in some real hell holes and again was taken aback.
