I have always considered myself a sincere person, a noble person, a kind person and a real person.
I have worked for target for about 6 years. I started at a young age, and consider the place to be a part of my upbringing. There were both pleasant and unpleasant experiences, but recently I find myself in a dilemma but first let me explain to you my target history.
I started as a cashier and slowly moved my way up to guest service and GSA. After my third year of working there I realized that my hard work wouldn’t get me anywhere, and the workers that they like and dislike are the workers that they decide to either terminate or promote, regardless of their work ethics and accomplishments. When I demoted myself from being a GSA (because I found that doing a TL’s job for 50 cents wasn’t worth the stress) and because I hope that target wouldn’t be my career( I was continuing in school) and because some of their managing methods also. After this I became a cashier, I told my HR ETL that I no longer wanted to cover for GSA/GSTL and no longer wanted to be at the service desk and cover breaks. I wanted to be a simple cashier. She agreed to my demands and everything was back to normal. After a year had past and target and its’ unorganized ways, I did warm up to the idea of covering for GSA/GSTL, Service desk, Food Avenue, Starbucks and along with helping the floor out when needed, helping the GSTLs fix the registers and kiosks along with other duties that no one wanted to do like help the cart attendant with spills, pukes, and stool.

So I’ve only been working at Target for a week but I can already tell that this job is going to be a complete shit show in which I either end up fired or going insane and burning the entire place to the ground. I started working there because I graduated from college last May. I’m planning on going back to school for a graduate degree in the fall but until then I need something to pay the student loans sooo… hello there crap minimum wage job I thought I was done with this bullshit when I quit Pizza Hut after graduating from high school. But as a side note I honestly have to say that working for my alcoholic boss and with my constantly high coworkers at Pizza Hut for $7.25 an hour was way better than the soul sucking back stabbing jack ass team leaders at Target.
So I do my orientation where of course everything is sunshine and daisies we love you, you’re special because we chose you from hundreds of applicants, you’ll just love Target idiocy. Although I have to say that the poorly veiled anti-union video tipped me off to the fact that their fairytale land of rainbow sprinkles was probably complete donkey shit. But whatever, I needed the money and it isn’t like this is supposed to be the rest of my life. Anyway I show up to work the first day I’m scheduled for training. I get there and the shift manager is looking at me like what the hell are you doing here? Um… well you scheduled me for training on cashier. Remember? So she sends me off to stand at some register where I’m left for like half an hour having to explain to all the customers who show up that no I’m not open and actually I have no fucking clue how to even ring them out sorry so much for the inconvenience. Finally the training manager comes striding up except she’s not actually looking at me as she says hello she’s staring at the guy in the register next to mine. So of course I don’t respond thinking she’s not talking to me because you know, regular people actually look at the person they’re introducing themselves to. Except then she says it again louder now sounding completely offended and like I’m some kind of idiot. So I now I of course feel like a complete moron and like I’ve already gotten off on the wrong foot and naturally get a little flustered and awkward. This BITCH then has the nerve to look at me dead in the face and ask me if I’m feeling all right today. Um well I was fine until I got here so I guess it must be this place you ASSHOLE.

When I first started working for Target I was sort of happy and glad to have a job with people. What the fuck was wrong with me. I have been with this shameful company with dishonest practices for 4.5 years. I have been harassed, bullied, stalked, belittled, and treated like straight up shit for trying to do whats right and fair. My STL is a bitch and she needs to work around the store more to burn off some extra hundred pounds or more. The ETL-LOG is a cunt for the most part who tries to sleep with team members and gossip about others just to start shit. She also is a back stabbing lying fuck tard who will actively insult someone for trying to be nice. ETL-HR is a waste of “resources” because he has never worked HR before and won’t grow a set to help out the “team”. ETL-Hardlines is fresh out of college, which his father is an STL so go figure he got the job, wants to fuck all the slutty girls but wants they bring him drama he tells them to get back to work and that he is busy.

Straight from Target’s website
http://abullseyeview.com/target-talk…-black-friday/
Are team members forced to work or prohibited from requesting Thanksgiving or Black Friday off?
There is no corporate policy mandating that people have to work on Thanksgiving or Black Friday and our staffing needs vary from store to store. Across the company, about one-third of Target’s store team members are scheduled to work on Thanksgiving and less than two-thirds of our team members are scheduled to work on Friday. Team member preferences were considered when creating the schedules and our store leadership teams are continuing to have conversations with their team members to address any concerns.
I think there should be a correction…YES Team Members are told they have to work Thanksgiving…they are not given a choice or asked to work.

I’ve been at Target for a little over a month and I’ve come to realize that the customer is never right. Yesterday i had some bitch come to my line and be a huge ice queen. She didn’t even acknowledge my friendly greeting. When I was done packing her shit she made a face and complained about how heavy it was when it wasn’t. She had me rebag it and was smirking the whole time. I wanted to wipe that smirk off her stupid face. I didn’t even say goodbye when she left. Stupid bitch. If I had been in line instead of working I’d have given that bitch a piece of my mind. Even the customer behind her said she was a huge bitch!

So I started out at one store as a flow team member and I was really happy and very proficient at my job. My HR and STL thought I would be a good fit for a TL so I agreed and they set me up for the interviews, however they didn’t have any openings at my store so my interviews were with another store. I happen to live in between the two stores so at the time distance was not really an option. So I went and interviewed and did extremely well on all the interviews and they offered me the job.
I just happen to start the week before Christmas as the Consumables Team Lead and it was two weeks prior to our PFresh remodel. Oh and not to mention they hadn’t had a CTL for like 2 months or so. So first order of business was to get my department on track with all the stupid suspect date audits and then to see whats going on with the remodel. Well everything seemed to be going well and then I started back to school in January and everything just started going down hill from then on. My ETL complained because I was in School and had limited availability but yet other TL’s and TM’s were in school and never heard the ETL’s bitch because of that. I was under the impression that Target wanted you to go to school and better your self. So I got through that semester with no problem and then they wanted me to change up my school schedule so I would have different availability for closing shifts. So I changed it up. Oh and I decided to change departments on my own because the CTL job was just to stressful for me and I got looked down on for stepping up and asking for help and to change areas.

Everyone by now is well-aware that Target is opening its Gates To Hell, a.k.a. “Its Front Doors” at 9:00 p.m. sharp on Thanksgiving. This, of course, sucks a lot of balls for a hell of a lot of people, for a myriad of reasons. Not just the employees suffer here; the family members of the employees suffer as well, missing out on valuable, quality time with their loved ones who are forced at the tip of the corporate sword to walk the plank into the unknown that is “Black Thursday”.
I’ve seen petitions circling around, asking Target’s CEO and Head-Asshole, Gregg W. Steinhafel to decide against the decision to open on Thanksgiving Day. The petitions are useless, as this jackass doesn’t really have an empathetic bone in his body, and only gets hard when he sees dollar bills; which is why his wife is forced to wear lingerie that has money printed on it—that was, of course, sewn together by a sad, sad, lonely Chinese child. This man is a money hungry dickwad. In 2011, his total calculated compensation (the salary he’s earned thus far, and no doubt requested in all-ones so that he could roll around in it naked) was $19,707,107.

I TRULY,TRULY ,HATE TARGET WITH EVERY BEING IN MY FIBER..I have worked for those selfish, blood sucking leaches for 5 long ass years and let me tell you it takes a strong stomach to digest the bullshit I have endured over the years. SHORT summary working their, your bound to commit yourself in the asylum. OK 1st yr coworker are banging the ETLs in the electronics room. Coworkers have sex in the dirty ass, smelly roach infested staircase. Yr 2 Short pay, long hours and no type of care for employees what’s so ever. 3 ye got prgenant lost it due to stress from work, being told to carry baby wipes off palettes while pregnant anyway. One of my door key holders only teamleads says to me after I loose my 2nd child due from stress and overwork from this hellover job, how many more babies can I loose..Really are you freaking kidding me? NO WAIT THERES MORE, so I report to my HR like any sane, disrespected, employee and you know they did, NOTHING…During my harsh times a couple of death in the family, I was told to try to over look my pain for the sake of the company on a no truck, just pull night.

WTF Has anyone seen Target’s Black Friday commercials. Two women texting each other and a man and female standing over them singing the texts out loud. Who’s the fucking moron that came up with that? I vowed to spend the absolute minimum there. I would say none but shit happens and I’m locked in so yeah the bare minimum just because I hate Target and their commercials are r******d.

Well, I just quit Target and I already feel better. I was plagued by incompotent, irrational managers. They always complained and corrected everyone around them even though they, themselves never obeyed the rules that they so righteously enforced. It amazed me that these people who have to have a college degree to be an ETL are this stupid. Example: I showed up to work one Sunday morning to set up the new ad. It was 6 am and the team was ready to go…except the ETL’s that were supposed to be there. I got the team started and found out that the ad wasn’t even finished being scanned in. Arrgh! I proceeded to finish scanning while the team put up what was ready. At 6:30am the ETL’s stroll in. They didn’t even ask what was going on or offer to help. They then took an hour lunch at 10 am and the ad wasn’t even done yet. That Monday I told the STL what had happened and she did nothing about it. Some nerve! The next week I get pulled into the office for being “grumpy” at work. WTF! In any other job when someone is grumpy you leave them alone and chalk it up to a bad day, not pull them into the office and piss them off more! They give more consideration to the employees there and hardly any to the lower managers. Employees can complain about a manager and the ETL’s and STL will crucify the lower manager. In other jobs when a manager gets on your case you do your fucking job, not run to a higher manager and complain. Target is backwards. Employees have the power and lower management gets crapped on. That’s why I had enough and quit 20 minutes before my shift started. BEST DAY EVER!!
