I have worked for the spot for 2 years now. i am a backroom team member. every day i go to work never call out work hard. but yet the harder i work the less hours i get. target does not like when i stand up for my self and call them out on there bs. they just took away our shift diff for coming in at 4 am. i fight for hours with young punk kids the don’t even like me. i have been almost in two fist fights at my store but i am the one with the problem. one time i stood up for a person and got written up for it. one time i was just minding my biz when someone can up and started with me. target is a greedy. they do not care about your family or you. they think so pizza or food will solve everything. but yet i still have to go. why you ask because life sucks and i don’t quit. i want to get fired. one time the hr asked why do you care so much. i know my answer now. i take pride in any job i go to. i try to make it the best. but target makes it hard when they use the workers like mules. to make it at target you must stand up for your self call corp and tell the how u feel. your store will not like you doing that the but any time i called my write up went away. keep your mouth shut when you are at work look around make notes in your head of other peoples wrongdoings and when they try go get you in trouble throw in in there faces. you must at all time have a ace up your sleeve. so that all i have to save about the red spot. i hate target

I don’t even know where to start. I could go on and on but that would be boring to read. First off, I was hired for seasonal cashier. In January I was told I was I was done because there were no positions available. This was a lie and I called them out on it. After a while of talking to them, they decided to keep me. I now realize that I should have just left. It has only gotten worse. There is nothing I like about the job. From the stuck up managers who are way too young to know what they’re doing, to the annoying GSTLs who NEVER answer any of our calls and constantly bug us about the stupid red cards, to the ridiculous scheduling and pay.
For example, I requested a weekend off. I hadn’t had a weekend off in months and just asked for one.

I retired some years ago from my career but became board. I wanted to get a job for a couple of days per week and a few hours per shift, just to give me a reason to get out of bed before noon. I decided on Target because I have shopped there since I was in my twenties and before they separated from the now defunct Dayton-Hudson Company. I currently work in the backroom of a non super Target and to this date I can’t figure out how this corporation makes money. I could complain about the non functioning equipment, inaccurate (make work) computer pulls and unbelievable short staffing, but I will confine my comments to two areas. First of all the pay scale is ridiculous given the high productivity expectations and intrusive demands on my weekly time. I told my TL that I would never consider working a full time schedule given the poor starting wage and raise schedule. I also proffered that no one with a genuine work ethic would. Today I (with less than one year on) started training a new backroom team member. I am not an “official” training person so no differential pay for me. The kicker is that I am making 8 cents more per hour than the person I am training in. Huh? My store works me 7 1/2 shifts and that means that I am actually being productive for 6 1/2 hours. If they brought me in for a 7 hours shift, Shazaam….6 1/2 hours of productivity. How does that make sense? Why am I still around? Well, I still like Target. I like my TL, STL, LOD’s and etc. The discount ain’t bad and it makes my wife very happy. Also, if I help get new help trained in. Maybe (I hope) they will stick around and I can get back to a smaller schedule. Will it happen? Don’t know and I can always leave.

I’m sure it’s not just my Target that’s clique-y. I’m new but honestly I don’t like it. I’m in Food ave so I work with only 4-5 others and that’s it. I don’t interact with other people. It’s whatever. I don’t know if any of the cashiers even like me ha. I smile but they don’t smile back. Whatever. I just do my job and want to go. Food ave is too hard and too time consuming for me to worry about basic bitches that are cashiers. I honestly think food ave is like an island in Target, isolated from everything. Oh well.

It’s insanely busy in the one I work at. I hate it because I have to close alone and there are always so many customers. This one customer in particular was SO RUDE.She seriously needs to learn respect. Why are the old customers the mean ones? She asked me to pop fresh popcorn even though I told her I’djust done in 10 minutes prior. This bitch seriously. Then today I told her that we were out of cups because we were. I didn’t know that we were able to give smoothie cups in place of water cups since we were out of water cups as a whole. She got mad at me when I said there weren’t any cups. I couldn’t give her a free soda cup. I ended up gviving her a smoothie cup and luckily that was the right thing. Still, she’s a bitch and apparently my co-workers know her too well. Well she probably has a shitty life so too bad for that bitch. Seriously though, you NEED at least TWO people closing food ave, not ONE. There are tons of dishes and one person cannot do that AND handle customers. I wish we closed earlier too. 9 pm is too late, nobody comes in that late. Sometimes I wish could close down for a half hour during the day and just get caught up.

I was never formally trained in ANYTHING. They just kind of ran through the basics and sent me on my way… I am grateful that there were some experienced transfers that knew how to use a PDA and were actually willing to take the time to show me how things worked.
I worked for target from2007.I started as deli helper ,my team lead was Betty although my application was for cashier but HR said we can not give you cashier but we have opening in deli department , I did not mind because I need job, I worked for deli and I heard a lot of complains about Betty .she was not doing any thing beside talking and sitting at Starbucks and chatting for long time with her friends.and it was only one person working with her and that person should do every thing while she was eating and drinking coffee.i when I have line I asked her to help at the bakery me . she always say ,this not my business.
I did not complain .she start taking advantage of me she was screaming at me and making fun of me in front her friends I tried to stay away .and then after 6 month they transferred her friend Briana from bakery to deli because she was too lazy at bakery .then Briana started to bring her gifts and buy her lunch so she can give her more hours and( Gloria)too started doing same thing to get more hours .and know we have three lazies and less hours for me and she was bad with me she did not let me take lunch on time and she was making fun of my accents and why I am so quiet and why my kids do not talk to her when they are with me shopping at target . I told her I am like this and my kids are also quiet . one day I told Betty I want to have one Saturday off ,she said why? I told her I want to take my kids to zoo , her answer was “do you want to visit your family?” in front of Gloria, a team member of deli.

I was a former employee at the Gastonia, N.C store location, I helped open the new store back in Sept 2011, this company just sucks in general. If your thinking about working for this company I advise you to pass on. My very first day consisted of almost a 12 hr shift,I was luckily chosen (sarcasm) for the Flow Team, and I was under the impression that we worked until we got done and being a new hire didn’t wanna jeopardize my job. this continued for another week. For weeks the management told us that we worked until we were done stocking the floor from the entire truck. Most days we worked from 4am until 2 or 3 pm. It wasn’t til about a month after the store opened that we started getting out at 11 am. Being on the Flow Team consists of being treated like low life scum, its almost slave labor for the small amount that they paid.they started me out at 7.75 an hour even with past retail experience. Everyone in the store hates the flow team,we got blamed for everything, even though we were the hardest workers there we still got treated like scum. all the while we were busting our ass, the sales floor associates would get to walk around, conversate and just bullshit while we were hard at work. We weren’t even really allowed to talk to each other. The team leaders were constantly on our ass about hurrying up, we only got one break through our entire shift which was either a lunch or a break, depending on how long they were wanting to keep us for the day while every other non flow team employee got two breaks and a lunch no matter what there hours were. also being a Pfresh store we had food trucks arrive the same day as the regular truck, so we would be stuck doing two trucks on Wednesdays and Fridays. By the time your shift is over you are physically and mentally exhausted, not even looking forward to having to come back to that shithole. Just trust me you do not want to work for Target, especially on the Flow Team, everybody will hate you just because you work on the flow team. Target doesn’t give two shits about their employees,I found this out after 6 month reviews employees were only getting .06 to .08 cent raises, what an insult. As hard as the flow team works they should be making double what the managers make because they don’t seem to know what the fuck they are doing. Fuck Target, I’m glad they fired me,I wanted out of there so bad I was literally telling them to fire me. This place will honestly bring you down into a depression if you let it. Don’t work for this shitty company and don’t give money to this corrupt company. I hope Target crumbles, they definitely deserve it.

I am the person left cripple by Target! I have posted before. For anyone with union interest I am willing to talk to anyone as to how a union rep could have saved my leg, and stopped my lifetime of pain caused by Target. I have won in court, won on all 3 of their appeals; yet still they have paid nothing. They admitted liability twice too. It will always amaze me on how much Target has spent fighting me at every turn. YET they have not given a dollar for a Tylenol to help me with my pain. A company without conscience. Evil to the core. I have given my whole being to one saving grace. I CAN cost them even more. I can pull from their precious bottom line. If you have any REAL OSHA complaints, contact me. I will help, or stand in for you to report them. I have costs them fines before. You can file with complete anonymity! For every specialist that they send me to; trying to disprove my doctors; I cost them. All the attorney fees and professional testimony; I cost them. I have gotten with EEOC, they have filed a case too. More money lost by Target. All I ask is Target make human, compassionate choices in regards to their employees. If they chose the bottom line as their most important asset; I chose their bottom line as my most obvious target. (NO pun intended.)
People Target answer to: Food and drug administration; OSHA; EEOC; state laws, and it’s employees……………….if we unite! I am there for you. Contact me on how to pursue work comp claims. What to expect, and how to win! TRCrackers@msn.com………….put Target in your headline!
