    It’s review time!!

    Review time at Target:

“You’re a great asset to the team. You’re never late, always show up for work and always have a great attitude. I love the work you do. So, overall I rated you inconsistently effective.”

  • I work overnights at Target a couple nights a week, due to family issues i’m going through. Anyway, I had been a Flow TM for 6 months and gradually moved to the backroom. Everything about working here sucks, as many of you already know. The pay is horrendous, but marginally better than those that work dayside. When my review came up my raise didn’t amount to much.

    Not Looking Back

Fast, Fun, and Friendly, not true. Part time with full time hours…low wages and a host of bipolar and unfriendly  TLs and LODs (mainly the ETLs and STLs). The teammembers are great, but oh some of those TLs and LODs. Leadership needs to step up their game when it comes to treating workers with respect. They are losing good people and the door will always be revolving as long as negative attitudes and egos are at the forefront.

    The Employee Survey!!

just when you think you’ve heard it all they come out with the employee survey. Holy cow i have never

seen anything so funny in my entire life. Yeah… They want “feedback” so they can make improvements. Seriously these people are so far off the mark where would someone even begin?? Not to mention the fact that most people know not to provide anything remotely honest when asked for feedback because all people want to hear is that things are great! When you don’t pay people a living wage or provide consistent hours nothing else really matters. People work for a paycheck most to pay bills and if they aren’t able to pay basic living expenses don’t expect good morale. Target is a blight on society.

  • HEY EVERYONE WHO HATES TARGETS AND ARE BEING CLOCKED ON HOW MUCH TIME YOU ARE TAKING ON BREAK. YOU DONOT NEED AND ETL OR A TL WATCHING OVER YOU AND ASKING IF YOU STILL ON YOUR BREAK. YOU DO NOT NEED AN ETL GETTING NASTY AND BELOW BECAUSE OF THERE TITLE. WE ARE NOT BELOW THEM GUYS. ITS TIME THAT WE TAKE ACTION IN OUR OWN HANDS. REMEMBER THE VIDEO THEY SHOW TO EVERY TEAM-MEMBER DURING ORIENTATION ABOUT HOW UNIONS ARE BAD. WELL GUESS WHAT FOLKS, UNIONS ARE INFACT GREAT.

    Yet Another Red Card Rant

I’m sure you’re all sick and fucking tired of hearing about that shitty piece of plastic debt by now, but after finding this place I simply HAD to get it off my chest.

  • I’ve been working here for over a year now, and I work a number of positions, including Flow. (The people who come in at 4am to do the freight/truck process and stock the shelves before the store opens. Whilst I have a plethora of unkind truths to share about the Flow team process (Example: Witnessing the Flow TL yell at a Flow TM for being slow, and telling him to keep his personal business at home when his best friend committed suicide less than a day ago.), I will focus on “Day side Backroom”. Specifically, having to pull cavs. (A list of items that need to be taken from the backroom, and pushed onto the floor to keep the floor stocked. To the best of my knowledge, these lists are populated based on what is selling.. in theory. These lists repopulate hourly.)

    Good raise

Sorry to break the bad news, there is tons of bad news at my store still and bullcrap.  However I just got my review and it’s true, all Target team members are getting a $9.00 an hour minimum wage now.  However, if you are already a team member than you will get $9.00 on your review plus what your raise is.  For instance with me I had $8.67, instantly up to $9.00 plus 0.18 cents raise makes me now get $9.18 every hour I work.  I’m glad for it but I still don’t like the job really other than seeing the usual same people everyday.  So rather a bad update like always this is a good one.

  • This is my story as a flow team member at Tarshit. I’m not here to piss all over everything Target because I give credit where credit is due. I also won’t pretend that my experience compares to a lot of posters on this site because I realize many have it far worse than me and I don’t want to trivialize the experiences of others. I’m just bitter because my  first job ended up being shit.

My Target story as a Backroom Team Member

[ I originally posted this on a job site for people to see, but I’m putting this here cause it fits]

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING TO TARGET, FOR THIS POSITION.

Right away, I’m gonna say this is not a woman’s job. I’ve only seen one female do this job and she quit after a couple months.

I’m writing this review not exactly to complain, but to help other people who may be in my position, or may end up in my position in the future.

Let’s start from the beginning, I applied for this position with the typical ‘macho’ mindset. “Backroom Team Member? For $9.50 an hour, all we have to do is stock products and carry boxes around? Not having to deal with the customers? Peace of cake!” I thought this would be fun. Wrong.
For one, $9.50 an hour may sound like a decent amount, considering how most other people working minimum wage jobs are pulling in like $7-$8 an hour, but it really isn’t.
