I am so done with this shit

So I’ve been working at Target for the past 8 months. Through this time I think I’ve been a pretty good employee, and I’m in school so I only take about 20 hours a week. Then one week recently I was given a pretty big task for my section, which was to remove all the out of season shoes, and because they just let the end of life shoes pile up over the previous three months I had to end up clearing over 700 pairs of shoes. While doing this my boss had the gall to claim I wasn’t working hard enough and threatened to cut my hours. I responded by telling him I was actually working really fast and just left it at that. Next week I find I’ve been cut to four hours, as well as the week after that. I was pretty pissed off by this so I talk to him about it and he claims he doesn’t know anything.

  • I know that there are  cameras where the tables are to eat lunch, and I know there’s one where the lockers are to put our belongings in, but, are there hidden cameras in the break room and if so, where??

  • I am a university educator with 30 years on the job. I retired a few years ago. My wife and I have enjoyed shopping at Target for many years. After watching TV shows like “Undercover Boss” I wondered what it would be like to work at Target.  They seem to portray an image of fast, friendly, uplifting team atmosphere.  Newly retired and semi-bored with time on my hands I decided to give it a try.  It was just before Thanksgiving I applied for a seasonal position on the sales floor. Being an older worker with a pleasant personality I was interviewed by two people and offered a seasonal position starting at $8 an hour. The people seemed friendly and we had our orientation meeting explaining policies and work rules. The personnel manager played a DVD for the group which explained the evils of unionization and the need to resist any attempts from individuals attempting to organize employees. I found the video somewhat humorous and a curiously paranoid presentation from the employer. I worked very hard thru the holidays and after New Year’s was offered continuing work part-time on the sales floor which I accepted. Working at Target was a real eye opener for me. Retail is very hard work and working at Target isn’t easy. Are employees treated well? In my experience, no. After one year I received a 9 cent per hour raise. I was never late or called in sick and was turned down several times for a day off with several weeks notice. I’ve read posts on this site about abusive and lazy managers and workers abused by them. My store had a number of these characters whom I would have fired on the spot if I had the authority. When doing pulls one evening, one of these “managers” told me to take only the biggest carts and leave the small ones for him.

    RANDOM!

How many store closings will be announced nationwide before 2014 ends?

How many more voluntary resignations at the corporate level before 2014 ends?

How many more law suits before 2014 ends?

How many more team members will quit when they get their shitty reviews and lousy raises if any at all?

How long before Target’s systems gets breached again? They didn’t care about guests information being stolen in the first place did they now?

When will Target stop hiring lazy ass sit in the office overpaid store team leaders?

When will Target understand that in order to have green service scores they will have to have enough bodies in the building first to help guests?

Anyone notice a longer wait time now for calls to refund authorization or guest relations?

When will Target get rid of the Integrity hotline since team member complaints/concerns are never resolved anyways?

    Target: A Snowball in Hell

I worked at a Target for 3 years (Now I have a much better job that seems to give a damn about it’s employees). I have family and friends that work at Target as well. So this past winter, with all these damn snowstorms and one STATE OF EMERGENCY, you’d think that this Eastern Coast Target would close and protect their Team Members and Guests, right?

Wrong! This Target store, store T2072, decided not to close during a state of emergency. Hell, they didn’t even have a delay that day. The one delay they did have was during a light dusting. So several Team Members had to drive, be driven, or get looked at in shame when they call off because it’s DANGEROUS outside and the brand new STL decided it was safe for everyone to come in.

I called anonymously to Target Corporate to complain about it, but nothing got done.

  • Beware Target Visa/Red Card holders. I will no longer be shopping at there or do business with there ever again. After having a good standing Visa acct with Target for 9 yrs (never missed a payment) I found out today that my Visa acct has been closed due to “inactivity.”

When I called last month to find out where my new card was since I hadn’t received a new one after my old one expire, I was told by the CSR that they would be sending my new one within 10 days. It never came. I called this morning to find out why & was told by another CSR that my acct was closed due to “inactivity.” Yes, they closed a 9 yr old acct in perfectly good standing – because I didn’t use it enough.

    Tarshit drops the ball

Well it turns out Target’s million dollar plus security system DID WORK but headquarters never acted on the red flags that they were being told about.  Their laziness and incompetence cost millions and millions of people’s privacy and financial security.  Read it for yourself

  • My store is going ape sh*t over guest surveys. They’re almost as sought after as red cards. GSTLs keep track of the number of Red Cards and surveys we get because we have the guests come up to the guest service counter and fill them out on an iPad Mini.

Being curious, I looked up the “Best Practices” for guest surveys, and sure enough it specifically says not to do that. The LODs and STL are even aware, but they choose to ignore it any ways. Pisses me off. I had printed out and highlighted the portion of that best practice where it says not to do that and had it sitting on my desk in the AP office, and when I came in the next day, it was folded and in the garbage.

Screw Target right in the bum.

    LOD entitlement

Just joined here. Looks pretty good and from what I’ve read most of it seems 100% accurate. I was just talking with a coworker tonight about the bs we have to put up with from the LODs. Their hypocrisy and entitlement they feel because of their titles is complete garbage. They’ll tell sales floor team members not to do something but turn around and do it themselves.

Target Mobile – stories from the inside

They’re jealous because we’re an oasis of calm in their shitstorm. They need us because we’re the only people actually given enough time to do anything positive for guest experience. And they hate us because we make far more than the team members and most of the TLs.

We are Target Mobile. We are just as sick of Target’s bullshit as our friends in red. And the hatred from within Target is even worse.
