I was recently informed by one of my close team leader friends that I work with at my Target down south that she would be retiring at the end of September. I didn’t really ask too many details. She has been here for a while and I understood why she was.
It wasn’t until later that I found out talking to another one of my friends, that our STL actually informed a different team leader that he would have to quit or retire in order to make room for the younger team members who wanted to be promoted to a team leader. She also informed me that the same team leader who I’d been talking to earlier who is retiring had basically been told the same thing. She told me they have been trying to push her out of her position for a while.
Now I don’t know about you…………. But that does not sound professional or legal in any way shape or form.
But then again. It is Target. They assume they can do whatever the fuck they want.

How to begin… I applied at Target very soon after I turned sixteen. They emailed me back and said that they weren’t interested in me. Two months later, I get a call from Target practically begging me to reapply, and I was hired with an interview that maybe had three questions. What? I love cashiering and Target. 90 Day Review? No big deal, I got a .25 cent raise. A couple weeks later, another .26 cents for my yearly review. Wow, Target sure is an awesome place to work.
This is where it gets fun.

I worked for Target for nearly 8 years. Would have been my eighth year in April. I was always brought up to stick to a job until something came along, as much as I hated that place, I was loyal to them for nearly 8 years. I tried a few times to jump ship but I never managed to get on anywhere else mostly due to being a college student.

I wonder why people “dislike” comments about how much Target sucks. I thought this was an ihatetarget site. Why do people argue with a fellow hater when that hater states what they hate? I read replies to posts such as, “It’s your fucking job to make lattes for guests! Stop bitching and just do your job!” I find this to be wildly ironic, not just because this IS a website specifically designed to complain about our shitty jobs, but because it sounds so VERY TARGETISH!!!!! Typical fucking assbackwards tards that have their heads so far up their fucking poop shoots they don’t even know where they are or whatthefuck is going on! YOU ARE ON www.ihatetarget.net you Target re-fucking-jects!!!

I’ve been with them for 3 years so far and it’s never enough for them. They love mistreating you while you bust your ass and then telling you you’re not good enough. I’ve been over working as a flow team member for a while, to the point where I just don’t give a fuck about anything. The worst part is there is no way a team member let alone overnight shift can be heard. My boss is a fat ass lazy bitch who takes things way too personally when I don’t wanna talk to her and just be left alone to work at my pace. But that’s okay, she has to live with being herself, that’s punishment enough.

I got out of the military, started school and decided to take some time off to rethink my major. So, I get a job at Target thinking I could do what I usually do when I get a job and just do my job well enough to earn a lead position, work my way up. I started about 3 weeks ago in softlines, nothing but other females. They are all pretty cool to work with but the “leads”….goddamn, whatta bunch of cunts.
Yes, I did immediately notice that it is hectic and I was expected to know the job right away- fuck being properly trained. The 2nd day I got register “training.” That consisted of me getting on a register and ringing up customers..oh no, omg, excuse me, I mean GUESTS while someone helicoptered over my every move. I was left alone for 3 hours on that damn register until this bitch-ass lead chic that is the loss prevention lead comes to get me telling me,”This is NOT where you belong right now! You need to go to softlines where you are actually supposed to be working!” No shit ho, really!?

SO, I’ve worked at this nightmare of a shit house for around 8-9 months and things went from okay to shitty. I was hired on just before all the holiday help was (too bad I didn’t apply a little later). I’m that one guy who has to do all the shit no one else wants to do while maintaining my own job as well. All the “Team Leads” here are corrupt and could give a shit less about you as an employee. When I’m scheduled cashier, I have to get carts because we only have two carts dudes and the other one sucks terribly. I tried training him, but he’s seriously just an idiot.

Hands down, Target is the worst place you could ever try to work. I got a job at target as a temporary help on income during the summer. My main job cuts hours during the summer (I am a part time HR rep at a department store), and my husband just graduated college and was looking for a main job. A friend recommended target as a easy part-time job, so I thought it would be great for me.
I went into the interview and it went great. I expressed how I JUST WANTED 12-16 HOURS A WEEK and had a main job. NOTHING MORE. The person who hired me said it would be okay and I joined the morning flow team (hours 4am-9am). This worked perfect for me since I usually work nights. I figured “Hey… its only three times a week and only during the summer. No big deal!”

First off I’ve been with Target corporation for about 3 years. And trust me when I say this, “Target is the most backwards idiotic corporation I know.” I have been “lucky” enough to work as a hardlines/ Market team member which is basically code for the stores little work slave. In my store, and I believe most Targets the market accumulates for roughly 60% of the store’s sales. That being said market team members are hassled (by the LOD’s) for the most insignificant of things. WE HAVE A TON OF SH** TO DO! Why in the world would you except 2 team members, and that’s two if where lucky to complete the QMOS, ZONE, CAFS, GUEST SERVICE and what ever BS you want us to do in two hours segments. I have no problem with working hard. I love working hard that’s why hello! i’m in college working my but off.

I’ve worked at Target for about 3 months. I set my availability around the activities I was active in when I applied for Target. Now that school is out and all of those activities have ended, I can finally work more days in the week. But since Target is a cock, they decline every availability request I put in. I’m pretty sure I’ve worked there for more than 90 days. I also hate everyone who works there. All of them are friends and talk to each other and laugh and stare at me. I have been thinking about quitting ever since I started. So thats why I need some peoples advice, should I quit now? Or should I wait until I find another job?
