The Operater.
so, I’ve only been working at my store for about 5 months . When I first got hired, I loved it, everyone was so nice and sweet and willing to help out, I mean we actually were a team. Now, all that shit went straight down the fuckin sewer with the rest of their dignity, and common fucking sense. So I’m the operator at my store and it fuckin sucks. First of all who in the hells idea was is to answer the phone “hi, thanks for calling target, can I help you find something?” that is the dumbest shit EVER.! Second of all, I’m so ready to leap through these fuckin phones and punch every bitch in the face. Ppl are so rude and disrespectful. They don’t understand that as an operator there are many things you can’t do, such as make ppl move any faster to find their item or just pick up the damn phone. News flash bitch your dumb ass is sitting at home making us look for shit for you. You are not our priority. Now, in some cases I will help them if it’s pretty busy in the store and they’re nice. But if you’re rude, I’m straight up hanging up on your ass.! The ppl on the sales floor are pieces of shit anyways because they don’t do anything and the dumb ass LOD’S wonder why we don’t make sales. But I absolutely hate the fact that ppl call and ask us to put shit on hold for them. Bring your lazy fat asses in the fuckin store you dumb ass, ass hats. This rant is nowhere near over. My fingers hurt.

I remember the first time I did operator (wasn't the best thing in the world but whatever). One lady was looking for a flat iron. I kept trying to get a sales floor person to help with it. Naturally no one was looking for it. The lady was getting angry about it of course. Thankfully someone came for my 15 min break. The lady wanted both our names, although she did have one of the new sales floor girls come over to help. Pretty funny to say the least.
Operator isn't fun at all. Hey May be you could get a job as an office assistant or something better soon enough ha ha. Just get out of there asap, it's only going to get worse...
I think Operator is hard because I feel responsible when no one answers the page from me. You have to just change your mindset and recognize that you are doing all you can - you can't force people to pick up the phone. I found a little detail helps - "Domestics, you have a call on 01, it's regarding children's bedsheets" Sometimes people know the answer but are too lazy to answer an "unknown" generic phone call.
It's the easiest being operator of the store when team members call in. I call my store when I'm sick or my bad times happen in health like I got a brain tumor 3 years ago and I lost hearing now. Had to call in for them to know and than call the Aon Hewitt team so I could get time off to get doctors notes and doctor exams and MRIs. Always was nice to hear operator and just ask hi this a team member of front lanes, may I please speak to the LOD. Than about 2 minutes I would cause you know how lazy and slow the LODs are. Operators are easy when having been called by team members because we've seen each other before and work there so it's a nice easy time, but when customers call in, why can't I get help, what the fuck, umm do these customers realize how lazy the floor members are to respond to things? The floor members do great at stocking and price checking like normal they do but answering for front lanes and calls they are slow and lazy as shit at my store. Especially when most of the time I'm the only cashier for the last 2 hours.
