Lost respect for Target.
I was looking for a job and Target was the first to call so I took it. 7 months later I find a full time job with more pay. I could’ve easily said f*ck you guys and just walked out but I didn’t. I put in my 2 weeks like any responsible adult would do. At the time I put my two weeks in I told my direct supervisor I would have to leave 30 minutes early to go to my other job and he said it was fine. After the 1st week of my last 2 weeks upper management came to me and said that because I had been leaving early I wouldn’t be eligible for rehire. They said it was because I had been leaving early and not fulfilling my scheduled time. Then goes on to say that I can still go ahead and finish this last week of work. Really? I came in early when asked, stayed late when needed, came in on days off when called, was never late and only called out once. Now I’m not eligible for rehire because I left 30 minutes early after you said I could? I know they did me a favor and that I’ll never again go back there for employment but that’s f*cked up. Get your shit together Target. You need to pay people more and offer full time not that “full time” 31 hours a week garbage. And only 10% off for staff and you can only use cash too? That’s so stupid. My direct supervisor said, you won’t be missing much. Target is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He couldn’t be more right.

Tarshit can't stand the fact its employees look or at the very least want other jobs that actually pay what they deserve. Someone who used to work there also told me he changed his availability to only working during the week because he had a weekend job as well that paid more and such.
For 3 weeks he didn't work on the weekends. Eventually HR tells him that he needs to change his availability back so he can work weekends. He said okay. Of course he never did and kept it the way he had it. HR approached him about it again and said he was supposed to do it and never did. Boy were those bitches "shocked" when he handed them his 2 weeks notice during that discussion!
Point is, Tarshit gives shitty wages for even shittier work, treats their employees like shit and wonders why people leave for greener pastures? LOL this company is a joke. Who on Earth wants to work full-time for part-time pay and zero benefits outside a 10% discount eligible for use only with a red card or cash? Glad you got out and let's hope it stays that way.
glad where I work my discount card can be combined with any form of payment but then they probably figured what the heck, you can still buy gcs with any form of payment so it renders the only allowing certain forms of payment point moot. Like someone else suggested. BUY GCS. Before you head to the checkout, use your phone calculate approx what your loss leaders will cost with your 10% discount added in. Buy a gc ahead of time with the approximate value you think your order will come to. Then pay for your order with your gc. 😉
I'm so happy for you! It's always a great day when someone quits target. For anyone who thinks they can't get out....keep trying. Even if you like it there, at some point your management will cycle out and you will hate it too. I don't understand those who stay for 10 + years.there are so many places you can go to.
Were you working at Target as full time?
I drive 30 minutes to the Target I work at, because they also were the first to call. I was going to wait 90 days for a transfer, but at 8 dollars an hour, I'm wasting a lot on gas, and insurance. I found a job right next door (I can literally walk) so if I get it I'm hoping to put in my 2 weeks notice. I really hope this doesn't happen to me. My store seems pretty good actually, but I guess you never know...
