LEFT ON HOLD!
Target HR has never been that reliable, but today has been the lowest of the low for me.
Let me give you a bit of my background: I’ve been a seasonal Target employee before, way back in 2015. I knew back then that HR needed improvement, but didn’t know how much. But because I was starry-eyed and like to give businesses probably one too many chances, I didn’t think much of it when they kept bouncing me around and scheduling me on days I had told them I couldn’t work. I still enjoyed my time working at Target (mainly for the co-workers who weren’t awful).
I’ve been calling back about once every two or three days to check up on my application, the Hiring Manager never seems to be there. Only today I managed to get through, and when she finally gets to looking up my application, I’m left on hold for almost 20 minutes.
By this time, I’m able to check up on my seven-year-old brother, look up a few articles, and check Facebook while waiting for her to respond to me. Once the 25-minute mark passed, I gave up trying to wait for a response I pretty much knew I wasn’t going to get. If you’re going to make a potential employee wait that long, you clearly aren’t in as immediate of a need as you say. Needless to say, I won’t be trying to work for them again.
