At long last, AT LONG FUCKING LAST, I am free. FREE. I gave my LOD my 2-week notice about 3 weeks ago and as of last Saturday I haven’t been back. The carnival I normally work at has been closed for the past 3 months or so (Winter brings poor revenue) but I’m returning to the carnival on the 17’th, where I’ll work 10-hour days on 3-day weekends having fun and making a livable wage. NOTHING like the shitty $8.00/hr “wage” Target has to offer. I informed my LOD that until the 17’th I was free to work and we worked out a deal: I could call in and ask if they needed an extra cashier despite not being on the schedule. So today I called and got a different LOD from the one I spoke to about the deal, he asked for my number and told me he’d call me back. SURPRISE, he hasn’t called me back. I’M SOOOO SHOCKED. So it looks like I will most likely walk into Target one last time to pick up my $56.00 dollar paycheck. Which isn’t even worth it.
In addition to working weekends at the carnival I’m also going to work at a security firm that actually offers, dare I say it, employee benefits, plus $11-$14 bucks an hour, which ain’t bad for a kid my age (19).
Target, before I worked for you I always assumed people who whined about their jobs were just whiny little bitches. Now I completely understand. The guests, team members, wait why am I still using fake ass Tarshit lingo? The dickhead CUSTOMERS, the dumbshit CO-WORKERS, the cocksucking homy polone ass higher-ups, all contribute to making Tarshit the worst place to work. I fucking hate the bijou breaks, fucking 15 minutes? Really? And you expect me to eat, shit, piss make a phone call to my momma all in 15 minutes? And let’s not fucking forget you could work for over 4 hours before even getting that break because the piece of shit GSTL sure as fuck won’t routinely check to see who’s next for break. And if you didn’t bring food (why the fuck would you, it’ll just get stolen) then you have to wait fucking 7 minutes for the Pizza Hut (for some of you it’s Starbucks) which has ONE guy working there to make your food, as well as about 10 other customers. I literally had my pizza prepared RIGHT when my GSA walked up to me IN THE PIZZA HUT part of the store and told me “your break just ended.”
The fucking customers who get pissed off at me because of their own stupidity or because they’re pissed off in general or what fucking ever the reason is can KISS MY ASS. I DON’T FUCKING CARE THAT YOUR CARD WAS AFFECTED BY THE BREACH. NO I DON’T FUCKING KNOW IF IT’S SAFE TO USE YOUR CARD YET. I DON’T GIVE A SHIT THAT YOU DIDN’T FIND THE ITEM YOU WERE LOOKING FOR BUT FOUND 100 OTHER THINGS YOU WEREN’T. JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PUT YOUR SHIT ON THE CONVEYOR BELT. Fuck. If you haven’t seen my post about customers pissing me off at check-out, have a look you’ll see why I’m so pissed.
Now I won’t say Target is a living hell, or like a nightmare from which employees cannot awake from, but I will say it is a miserable, MISERABLE environment. Poor pay, poor treatment, unfriendly higher-ups who didn’t work their way up to get to where they are, just took 2-years in college and bam they became LODs. They try to sucker you with free pizza occasionally, and little gay $5 gift cards if you got enough REDcards. Let’s not forget the lovely 10% off their crappy merchandise, yeah that’s some good incentive right there, right? I gotta say I just can’t see any reason for anyone to stay with Target unless it’s the only job you can maintain. It’s just a shitty company all around and I won’t return unless I’m fired from both the carnival and this security job.
I could sit here and say a few things I liked about Target, but honestly, it would be like a male prostitute talking about the few good things of his job of sucking dick for money. I guess……. I liked…. that…. uhhh. I guess I liked that I could piss and shit and get water despite not being on break any time I wanted I guess? See what I’m saying. There’s nothing legitimately good about working at Target as far as I’m concerned.
I knew going into that it would suck, I mean it’s retail; we all know it sucks. But I had no idea how much I’d begin to fear I was serving my eternal punishment until I began working as a cashier. I mean Target really is that bad. You get basically 300-400 bucks every two weeks- like anyone can fucking live off of that. Every fucking time I walk in those doors it brings to mind Azkaban the Harry Potter prison with the fucking dementors: it drains the happiness from you until your nothing but a sad, miserable husk. Okay okay, I’m exaggerating a bit here, but honestly it’s like I walk up to my register and feel drained; it’s like “great, gonna be here for 8 hours which will only boost my paycheck by about 60 dollars, lovely.” And they give you fucking 23 hours out of the week, too, when you said you could work full-time. Like what the fuck.
Target I hope this security breach results in your end. I hope the lawsuits and legal fees are simply more than you can bear. I hope your employees leave you for better job offerings as I did.
I will walk into Target but one more time, as I said before, to pick up my paycheck.. however, before I go I am planning on eating a lot of chilli and drinking a lot of milk before bed the night before, then after I pick up my paycheck I plan on taking a dump on the bathroom floor, putting on some gloves, and flinging it at the ceiling. Then I’ll smear the rest on the floor and on the walls… maybe I’ll finger-paint the Target logo on the wall, or write “hi” with it, or draw a smiley face…. That piece of shit cart attendant who hates himself will have to clean it up hahahaha. Be pretty funny if while he’s cleaning it off the walls the one that got stuck to the ceiling fell on him hahaha sorry I’m just being immature here lol.

I totally feel ya. I worked there for a year ONLY because i needed a job to help my family. I shouldve taken the job at Walmart Deli but like a idiot i chose Tarshit. It couldve been worse for you we only got 7.75 a hour and were expected to do everything but softlines and pharmacy. I wish my chck was 3-400. they only gave me 20 hours or less at one point 16 a week! one month 400 was my MONTHLY income. I quit and got a real job. cI too knew Retail would suck but SHIT it wasnt even worth it. Im glad I quit before my chickenshit FIVE CENT RAISE lol Glad you escaped too!! Fuck Target Walmart may be bad but its GREAT compared to Tarshit!
I just can't fucking understand that 5 cent raise shit. I wasn't there long enough to get a raise but everyone keeps saying they get a miniscule ass raise every year or something like 14 cents.
They gave me a whole whopping 9 cents I told them to keep it.
o.o 300-500 paycheque is what I get for two weeks working the same hours you guys do.
