Almost fired despite asking for a leave

SO, I think I was almost fired because I asked for a leave to deal with some personal crap that I had to take care of. I made sure all but ONE shift was taken care of, which I told them I couldnt take because it went against my availability, and that’s ILLEGAL (which I didnt mention). So, I go visit a freind and when I come back I call Tarshit asking wtf they wanted. My manager asks me to come in, which could have easily have been discussed over the phone. I look like shit as it is- it was right after Christmas and the holidays are what causes family conflict. Anyhoo, she finally approves my leave in front of HR AND then asks me why I need it.

Seriously lady, you’re not legally allowed to ask me those questions. I need the fucking leave. Simply put.

SHE FINALLY approves the leave, then, I check the schedule, and I wasn’t on it. IT WAS MADE BEFORE I WAS APPROVED TO GO ON A LEAVE! SO, they were going to fire me, but I caught them in a lie, reported them to the integrity hotline, (which is how I found this site) and I refuse to take their shit anymore. Although I am debating working two jobs while going to school. I highly doubt I will though after they put me through this shit.

I would not stay there much longer if I were you, since they're going to be this way. The stress of being there is just not worth it, unless you absolutely need to stay! It's stupid when managers ask you to come in on your day off, as if you don't have other plans for the day. Why not do it over the phone as you said or better yet, wait until you're in next time? When it comes to those kinds of conversations you should record them on your phone or something (if your state legally allows it say in the form of a one party consent surveillance law). I swear employers pull off illegal shit all the time and get away with it (which is BS because when we employees do it, omg lawsuit immediately). It's time they face the music when they constantly lie about their nonsense and break the law on a regular basis.

Think about it this way: if you quit, you won't have to deal with their bullshit anymore. Crap pay for slave work. I hope this company is put on its death bed soon enough. Honestly I'm getting paperwork ready so a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit can start boiling and burn them for their stupid illegal shit. People have the right to know how shitty this company is so they think twice before shopping there.

in canada they are paying us $10 per hour at least. Depending on where SusieH is located, the min wage ranges from $10.20 per hour to $11 per hour . Can they even keep enough staff and follow the min wage increases? Ontario raised the min wage from 10.25 per hour when and went into a whopping $11 per hour. Alberta increased theirs to 10.20 per hour but that's irrelvant, The realistic min wage is way higher as no one will work for tarshit if they pay little above min wage. Have to pay quite a few dollars instead of 25 cents above min wage since oil rigs pay plenty of money. Manitoba raised theirs from 10.40 to 10.70 as of 2014 october. New brunswick raised theirs to $10.30 from $10.00. Nova scotia raised theirs by ten cents as of april 2014 from $10.30 an hour to $10.40 an hour. PEI raised theirs to $10.40 from $10.00 in 2014.Saskatchewan raised theirs from $10.00 to $10.20. Yukon raised theirs from $10.54 to $10.72. Only areas that didn't raise min wage is nunavut, northwest territories and British columbia

hahahaha, looks like Canada isn't letting Tarshit get away with 8 cent pay raises. It's forcing 10 to 75 cent pay raises on tarshit by raising the provincial min wage across the board. So go ahead tarshit. Try to screw canadians over with crappy raises. Not on the provincial government's watch. YAY CANADA!

Come to think of it. Target won't even survive up in Nunavut, Canada's most expensive territory. min wage there is $11.00 per hour but people won't work for less than $20 an hour due to stuff being so expensive up there. Guess that's why they didn't even open up there. There's HBC outposts there, but it's now been demerged back into it's own company; the northwest company. HBC managed to survive for hundreds of years there but can target match that? Doubt it. It can barely survive right now.

LOL 8 cent raises, that's if you're lucky. I've heard of people getting like 5 cent raises or even nothing. What a joke. Tarshit takes advantage of people's need of an income by exploiting them with doing bullshit work with almost nothing to show for it. I hope they pull out of Canada and burn into the ground.

They probably didn't want to talk on the phone because legally after 10 minutes on the phone with you, they have to pay you
