You Don’t Hate Target, You All Hate Retail…
Most of the people on this site are idiots. You guys don’t hate Target you hate working RETAIL. Of course you have to work holidays, of course the pay sucks, and of course your hours go up and down like crazy, it’s the nature of the beast. But all in all Target isn’t that bad, when used appropriately. Anyone working in retail as their long-term career is gonna be miserable. Jobs like this are supposed to give you a little cash while you are working on bigger and better things.
I just got hired on as a seasonal Flow team member, and I’m working on my BA in IT, I like it so far because I don’t plan on staying here forever. My manager is really nice since has a crush on me (and he’s cute) so that helps hahahaI. But anyway I show up, do my job get paid and move on… I suggest you all do the same. If you want a better job, educate yourself so you become deserving of a position that pays great, has steady hours, benefits, etc…

You're an idiot. Target is by far the worst big box retailer in the USA. It's horrible for both customers and employees. The only reason I approved this post is that it's only a matter of time before your opinion of Target changes. The question is if you have the balls to tell the truth when the time comes, or if you'll just keep your mouth shut because you feel stupid.
Listen, because you're apparently an idiot let me explain this to you like you're five. This site is called Target SUCKS. Not 'let's give out opinion on what we think about Target' or 'Target is alright'. No. It's called Target Sucks, we don't care if you're floozy around your manager, or whatever run of the mill degree you're getting. Good for you. We share about our bad experiences with the company. They're shitty and unfair to their worker, and sadly you're too dense to realize that.

Don't worry Caydence, we all know it's just a matter of time before they want to go postal on Target too.
It's not just retail that sucks, although retail in general DOES indeed suck balls. Target has a weird, bureaucratic culture. I have worked for different stores, not just one, and I have seen this weirdness in more than just one store. The management team is extremely lazy, because our district team leads in general are extremely lazy and they do not give pats on the back for good work, etc. My store team lead has never been told "Good job!". She's simply been told, "You got a good visit, but you could do better", even though we have scored consecutive Green visits for over a year.
Personally, I do not like Target because at the different stores I've worked at, none of the leadership wants to quit because most of them are losers who are going nowhere in life and refuse to leave their jobs because they know they have no real qualifications outside of Target's low standards. They know that in the real professional world, they'd be eaten alive. So there are no advancement opportunities. Ever. So what happens? The management responsibilities get passed on to me, while my boss goes and sits in his/her office and texts (and even sleeps!).
You say that you like Target so far...that's because you have a boss that wants to do you. I am female, and I'm better looking than the other cretins I work with, so the guys I work with used to flirt with me, including my bosses. I had a boyfriend, however...my Executive Team Lead of Human Resources sexually harassed me to the point of touching me in his office. And he knew there was nothing I could do, since he had put me on a final written warning, and I would lose my job if I opened my mouth.
So I transferred stores. Guess who transferred too? You guessed it...the creeper. Target has many sites for people who hate, loathe, and abhor this corporation. This site exists because those of us who work hard and get shit on by Target want the world to know how bad it is, and to share stories. Good work though, getting on your knees and suckin' some dick to get alone at Target. You'll be hating it when your creepy boss moves onto the next set of spread-eagle legs, cuts your hours, and starts gossiping about you and ruins your reputation to the point that you don't even want to pull into the parking lot. But for the meantime, I'd buy 2 bottles of K-Y Jelly...one for fucking your boss, and the other for when Target bends you over and anally ravages you like they have to the last slut behind you.
You got that right. My GSTL bitch been trying to get me to quit school to work in the cash office. Why the fuck would I want to do that. If I wanted to work in the cash office i would of been like "fuck school me want to work in cash office for the same shity pay, me so smart".

Laughing about your ETL having a crush on you is not very bright on your part. When that seemingly harmless flirtation becomes stalking and you go to HR to complain, you better make sure that you have documentation and proof. HR is powerless to help you they protect themselves, their store and most importantly the manager. I worked for Target for a long time and I worked in every capacity. I enjoyed it when I first started, low pay aside, but I did promote to TL.
Retail is Retail is Retail, yes it is a necessary evil, people have to buy stuff. Target however just cares about the bottom line and does not really care about their employees. I have seen it change dramatically over the years. I have seen competent ETL's and managers pushed out of their jobs becuase they made to much money, and they continue to bring in these poor inexperienced "kids" fresh out of college to run the floor. Alot of the team members have a second job and a degree and are working there because of the economy, so dont auomatically ASSUME that everyone that works there are uneducated lazy asses.
Amen!!! My fatass Human Resources asshole sexually harrassed me for several years. It got so bad that people all around the store knew what I was dealing with, because he didn't even bother hiding it from other people we worked with. They'd see his fat ass coming, and they'd say, "Look, there comes your boyfriend" in a joking way...that sorta made me want to puke. He even took me up in his office one time to fill out some paperwork with him, and he started touching my legs, asking me out to a local club, etc. There was absolutely nothing I could do, because there were no witnesses, and Target protects their executives to the Nth degree, no matter what.
Yeah, and bragging about your Target boss hitting on you? Sad news...he probably only makes like $32k a year...so don't count on him being your sugar daddy. haha. Not only that, but if his big break was getting promoted at Target, his goals aren't that high, and he's most likely some sort of loser.
