Target could sell Canadian assets to Wal-Mart or HBC, analyst speculates
lol Target is now giving itself until 2015 before deciding to leave Canada. If target does decide to sell back to hbc, then hbc may have hoodwinked Target into giving it a free reno of it’s stores when they sell the leases back.

really? Has tarshit actually acknowledged that they "could" sell their assets in Canada? WOW, that would be the best news I have heard in a long long time. Good bye tarshit, the experience of how horribly you treated employees, was just so wrong in so many ways I could write a book about it
Good riddance!!!
To sum it up in a nutshell, here is the worst overall thing about tarshit.....
it is the pretending how wonderful they think they are, and the lies and deception that go along with it. Tarshit is worse then the companies out there it pretends to be better then. The amount of lies, that employees get told of, such as freedom to use your discretion for small queries at the cashier, would be amazing if tarshit actually followed up on allowing employees to do just that, (they don't)
As employees, we certainly got told, oh we have plenty of hours for you all, even had an STL who said in his words, "I have got your backs"...to find out very quickly that STL was no longer there in the short term future after that.
Many of us quit other jobs, as we were told, plenty of hours here, and we are such a great company, you are all so lucky here....to find out our hours were reduced dramatically several times since store opening.
A little honesty, would have been far better tarshit, but I know, maybe that goes against the Minnesota way of doing things?
lol, I doubt most people gives a rat's ass about tarshit. All they care is price matching loss leaders of other big box retailers at target and using the red card to save an extra 5%. As for cross border shopping, that's probably done in quite a lot of cases with the canadian red card, so target ends up paying the customer's forex fee with the 5% discount.

If Target stays
“No other Canadian retailer is materially impacted unless Target can actually double their store productivity.”
lol in other words target is nothing but a tickle to it's rival walmart and their canadian rivals.
If Target goes
“If Target were to simply pull out, pay the penalties, and let the stores go dark, it’s very good for Wal-Mart, pretty good for Canadian Tire and Loblaw, and not bad for everybody.”
if loblaws gets it then it could prove very interesting. HBC i'm thinking maybe not, why would they want to spend millions renoing their stores for free? they hate walmart so definitely not there as well.
UPDATE: Target is apparently going to make it's decision to stay or to leave after the holiday season, so I guess that means Jan 2015

Good bye tarshit, Good bye tarshit, good bye tarshit, we won't miss you at all
