Target Sucks - We Hate Target and We Know We're Not Alone.

Red Cards can kiss my hairy ***

So, I’ve been working at Target for about 10 months now and have to say it has been a roller coaster of emotions. Sometimes I love working there, sometimes I want to mow down everyone with an AK-47. It’s a bitter-sweet job to say the least. I will say however, that I’m EXTREMELY lucky that I didn’t apply for a cashier position because of what I’m about to tell you.

First off, who the hell invented the Red Card? I won’t even bother looking it up because the very sight of a Red Card, (which I was forced to get), makes me want to puke. They say it drives customer sales and increases the amount of sales, and did I mention that it drives sales? The whole deal with the Red Card has made me wish I picked another job, even though I don’t mind much my job on the sales floor.

Every time I come in for my shift, I am called up every 30 minutes and each time I do, “guests” like to pretend you’re their slave and make you check them out. Even though I have another job to do, and my damn Lane Light isn’t even on!

I wouldn’t mind being a cashier, if being a cashier meant checking people out. But it doesn’t. Being a cashier at Target means you have to bend over and take it up the rear by your LODs and GSTLs. They don’t even appreciate how fast and efficient you’re at checking people out so they can go on their cherry ass way. NOPE! Being a Cashier at target means you are a corporate slave that has to peddle Red Cards so that the LODs can get a Bonus check at the end of the year. One time I literally made 120 sale transactions with a couple hundred dollars in each – with about 95% being in the G category. I’m leading in transactions across the board – but NOPE! If you don’t get a single red card, you are treated like you are terrible at your job.

Thanks Target, but next time you tell me to force the Red Card down a “guest’s” throat, I won’t be friendly next time. **** you Red Cards!

Amen! I'm a cashier and I hate that I don't really get anything out of getting a stupid-ass red card except a pat on the back and maybe free food or Star bucks (which I could care less about) us cashiers should be the one getting the bonus check at the end of the year, not those lazy ass LODs

and I thought zellers was bad with their hbc mastercard pushing. At least we got 2.50 per sign up in store credit loaded onto your store mastercard in the form of points.

You actually get thirty minutes? I can barely walk back to where I was and put one thing away before getting called back.

I'm a cashier too. Not all the time, but one a week maybe, did you get any red cards? Please remember to ask every guest. Bullshit! I haven't asked for over 1 year! I got some red cards though because some people asked for them so I told them ok, we have a credit card and debit version which goes to your bank account, either way you save 5% and extra 30 days for returns and if you have doctor prescriptions, you can bring it here and get it here and save extra 5% after 10 pick ups. It's so easy to remember that even though I don't even ask people. But I never ask anyone anymore, it's like hey, we got 5 people waiting in line here, they don't have time to wait for someone to fill out a red card crap form on the screen which takes 15 minutes for most to do. The leaders have the store saying, fast fun and friendly, well I can do all 3 no problem, but if you want to keep fast, we can't ask for the redcard, because the one in 20 or so who say yes I would like it are the exact people in front of 5 to 10 others and than realize, oh all these people behind me, the person says uh maybe another time I don't want many others to wait forever so I can fill out that long thing application. So you see you fucking rediculous target, barely anyone wants one as most have it now already, I've counted over 200 in my one day shift, and people who don't have it won't apply because they have the respect of other people by not wanting to fill it out in front of tons of others waiting in line to get there stuff checked out so they can go home too! Dumbass target, doesn't realize these things. LODs, GSTLs, never realize these things, these many things. I'm almost 30 years old, when I reach 30, I will quit even if I don't have another job ready.

they should do what they were doing in the canadian targets. Every time someone wants a red card, they send them to a special booth with a pc set up to sign up for a red card. At least I recall hearing my old supervisor yell out someone wants a red card! Someone go help them sign up! IMO more efficient. Target had a good thing going up here in canada but somehow they managed to ruin it in Canada.
