LOA
First time posting and let me start off by saying how happy I am to have found the site. I started as a cashier back in October. I was interviewed mid-september when I was given the job on the spot. I loved it at first, target has been one of my favorite stores for the longest time and it still is however I have a newfound outlook on the people who run the store. as soon as I began my cashier position I discovered which GSTL would be my friend and which would be my foe. about4 months into my position I was injured while lifting a pack of water and it ended up pulling my shoulder to the point where I could not cashier anymore. which anyone who has worked there knows how much of the managers but love it. so I started working and every single part of the store except for soft lines and the front line lanes. so at this point I am completely trained in every single aspect of the store besides management and soft lines. firstly I would think that was enough to treat me as a respectable member of the team. however that was not the case. a few days ago I was in electronics covering someone’s break when the call button went off and it hit the third request thus our HR team member came over to me and took me out of electronics. I didn’t see the reasoning behind it all and come to find out I’m not even certified to be over there because the team leader of electronics decided not to give me the training booklet and sign off on it. needless to say I was pretty pissed so I was talking to a coworker about it in front of dollar spot when the GSTL who hates me, sees me and my co worker talking. he asks the team leader of electronics to go to 3 which was our private communication line so we didn’t interfere with the rest of what needed to be said. I turned my walkie back on because it was off for whatever reason, and when I turned it on I heard my name so I was listening to it and it happened to be that it was my GSTL and team lead of electronics talking s*** about me. the team lead told the tale that I was mad at him and that he laid it down for me and then he told the GSTL that I was going to go LOA. and they continued to talk smack about me behind my back. needless to say I’m going on LOA and will probably quit if I can find a different job. I would never recommend working here because if you ever get to the point where you can’t cashier or do a certain job you will be rudely treated. it was so childish of them and I thought I was dealing with adults but obviously when you step foot in a Target you’re dealing with middle schoolers.

Exactly, there not adults, they are children middle aged. The only good ones at my store are these old guys who do the carts and 2 of the GSTLS. The other 3 GSTLs are crap to me an never ever ever accept a call in sick. It's like hey guess what, the manual you gave everyone and even on the wall says if your sick please call in, we don't want to risk having a bunch of people and co workers getting sick also, so please call in if you are sick. Yet they go against Target's own writing.
At my former store the management would play nice to your face and gossip behind your back. This place is all about hiring preppy, prissy ass bitches who have the nerve to pretend they do any substantial work when all they do in their so called "huddle time" sessions is gossip.
