Target Sucks - We Hate Target and We Know We're Not Alone.

Target has a less harsh name for everything

Managers aren’t managers they are “leaders” and write ups are Corrective Actions. EVEYTHING is such BS! The names they give to everything might be different but they don’t handle shit any better. If you have to talk to me do it in the privacy of an office and please tell people not to stand outside the fucking door and if you see someone standing outside the door say something. I also love how all of the “leaders” know who, when, and where before anyone even gets talked to or “coached”. And all these goal times they have for us are SUCH bullshit! I have been told before that the goal times the leaders get from corporate are more of a guideline. That in reality a 4 hour work load should only take me 2 hours. Like how the F does that make sense? I’ll tell you how… These bitches are trying to make us work twice as hard so THEY look good to corporate and then they also take credit for work load that team members do and say that ALL THE ETL’s did that work.

Also, just recently I tried to have someone cover one of my shifts and I was told by an ETL that if said person covered my shift I would still get either a no call no show or a call out. Depending on if I actually called on the day of the shift. EVEN IF SAID PERSON COVERED FOR ME and yes even if the shift change was approved. Needless to say at this point Β they just have it out for me… -_-

Anyway! I was so glad to find this site! I’m not sure if calling corporate will do any good but I am sure it will back fire on me.

One time I legit got a corrective action because I called out on a Sunday because my car had broke down. I for the life of me could not get it to start and didn't have another way to work.

Well friend, judging from your post... They definitely have it out for ya. Cause that first rule of "even if someone covers your shift and it is approved, you're still treated as a no call no show." Is bullshit. Now it may vary store by store, but regardless of that, when I worked for Target for the 4 months I was there, I had about 3 shifts on the board that whole time, and they all were covered and approved, never heard anything from them about No call No show stuff. And as far as calling corporate goes, I'd actually call the integrity hotline and report every single of them assholes for their unfair treatment of you. You can remain anonymous from it so they won't know who reported them, that's my suggestion from you, to me friend. And if anything, start putting in job apps elsewhere too, and you'll find a company that values your skills and treats you a lot better than Tarshit does.

Yep, you're welcome, friend. It's time to give Tarshit a nice kick in the ass and to let them know their treatment of people stops here and it ends ASAP.

Wanted to update ya on my job search! I have found a job and will be quitting next week... I'm not going to put in a two weeks notice because I REALLY DO NOT want to leave myself that open bridge. I want to pour gas on it and set that bitch on fire. That's how much I hate target ! πŸ™‚

I bet their creditors and a few of their current suppliers want to burn target in hot oil since Tarshit declared bankruptcy in Canada to avoid paying the bill. And they are still stocking shit from the exact same suppliers in the us targets.

Only target can fail so badly they end up owing their competitors money for failing so miserably lol.

Target is truly a terrible place to work. They don't pay a living wage, they focus on selling RedCards, they will not give a consistent schedule, they refuse to cross train as promised in training. They exploit desperate people who need to work. A union needs to be brought in. Even if they threaten or do close a store down a union is the only hope the vast majority of target workers have of improvement in conditions. Each store is run like each STL own private kingdom. The buck needs to stop.

Amen to that, when I worked at Target, I started out as Cashier, making $9.00 an hour, which is only .75 above Minimum wage here in Nevada, Redcards, I was harassed on that,, saying I should get 1 for every 100 guests I ask, I said "Ok" as if I gave a flying fuck about that statistic. And as far as cross training goes, if you become a Cashier, you're stuck there until you're 100% consistent there, cause I asked to be cross-trained for Guest Service as I had more experience in that department than Cashiering, and they constantly told me no. I wish a Union would come in and give em a nice kick in the ass and a wake up call, I really do.

You wouldn't want to work guest services/customer services. You'd be stuck filling in for the front end management when they decide to laze off. I ended up being cross trained because "I wasn't bubbly enough apparently. According to HR person that fired me, I wasn't bubbly enough LOL. Sadly for me the HR person from tarshit followed me to my new workplace which is unionized. She's now stuck doing zoning, the stuff she made me do previously lol.

I feel your pain, buddy. I hear a "*insert name* just earned her first RedCard of the day", all the fucking time. It's absolutely discouraging. They don't give a shit about hard workers. If you earn upper management corporate bonuses, you're on their "hard workers" list. And I actually started caching a trend at my store. We have this cashier who we will call S, well S earns on average about 5-7 RedCards a day from what I'm able to observe. Well, isn't it funny how she's one of the very few people who have full 8 hours shifts, whilst everyone else only has 4 hours. Funny how target has favorites and anyone with a semi-working brain can pick that up. Favoratism doesn't help in the work place, so STOP practicing it.

Ya know Nergal, we have a cashier like S at the store I worked at, she got 8 in a day usually, and on good days she averaged around 15 a day. I shall call her L. But she was a truly nice lady, and I felt truly sorry that she was brainwashed by Target's job nonsense.

if she was a nice lady she may have been sending them to guest services to pay off their bill instantly after they paid with the target red credit card. πŸ˜‰ You get the 5% savings and instantly paying it off at the till/customer service is a bit like paying with cash or cheque.

Right... and on that note, what I find weird is that, during my 4 month tenure with Target, I figured out almost immediately on how to do payments on redcards, and my "boss" commended me on that cause people apparently have been there longer than I have and they still couldn't figure out how to do it, that to me is also a red flag and a sign Target needs to have better training implemented, big time.

just think of all the extra red cards the cashiers could sell if they trained people on how to do that! OMG! Lol.

I know Silver, I betcha two things would get more people to sign up for a Red Card, A. 20% discount instead of a measly 5%
            B. If they found out that they actually don't have to go to guest services to make a payment on their redcard when they can actually do it right at the register and save them the hassle.

hmmm, given enough time Canadian targets would sell red card cards a lot better than target us cashiers if they stayed. they kept my cash supervisor lady. from zellers. She was training folks how to process "store cc" payments right at the till. I recall her teaching people. At least I remember her showing it to me.

hmmm I don't know if you guys had such a thing but during downtime at zellers I discovered a little help booklet for all the weird transactions hung on a pillar.

hmm, i do recall zellers had this 15% off your purchases the entire day. (zellers=Canada's verison of target and outlasted target in canada. ) Plus the customer could also pick a day for the 15% discount the entire day. So if they wanted to, they could take that card and basically shop till they dropped at the bay banners which was what they wanted you to do. Go and buy their super expensive shit at their highest tiered banner. Seniors had 20% off on one day a month. Our old lady friend didn't want to pay with her store card, as she didn't want to forget to pay the bill so the cashier told her she could pay with the card and then she would apply her cash payment right away towards her bill, so she would owe nothing when the statement rolled around. @_@ I wonder if some of the ex zellers employees at target went omg these cards are so much harder to sell damn it! No special bait to lure people in.
