I’ve been working at Target for about a month and a half now. The day of my interview I got into a minor car accident which really should’ve been seen as a sign for how my job there would go. As a sidenote/preface of sorts, this is only my second job ever and my first in retail.

Lets start from the beginning, shall we?
Background
So I started working at Target 1516 of July of 2018 in Softlines. At first it was great; I made a decent amount of friends, the management was laid back and I was getting above minimum wage. I left for LOA in September for school and returned for Black Friday. Even though I’m softlines, they put me on register all day because they “double scheduled” me. It was my third time working register and the experience was awful. That should’ve been the first warning sign.

A guy named Jerry is working fixing electrical at my sisters house and it seems to be taking too long. I over heard him saying he worked at Target night stock manager in camarillo CA. Is there a night manager in Camarillo named Jerry? Stock Manager? He said it was his first day back after 8 months off due to back injury. I just need to know if this guy is telling the truth or not. Or if he is scamming my sister? please text my phone at REMOVED if you know something. I really would appreciate it.
P.S. update. my sister said Jerry ran off to his first night back at work at Target and then showed up at her house again three hours later saying they fired him. Does this sound like something Target would do?

So, I started working at Target in the softlines section yesterday. I am working seasonal. This is my first job EVER. I’ve never had previous cash register experience or retail experience at all. Yesterday, I was only trained on the register for about an hour and a half-2 hours. I think I got the hang of using the register, but i’m definitely not perfect yet! I’m pretty slow. Today was my second day and I was being trained in the softlines section. First of all, I feel like everything has been so unorganized. My originally-designated trainer didn’t even know she was supposed to be training me! So a team leader just chose a random worker from softlines to train me. Then a manager found me while my trainer was away at one point, and asked me to backup on the cash registers but I couldn’t do it because I wasn’t even “in the system” yet.
