I FINALLY Quit
after 13 years of their nonsense. I have been through everything at that den of iniquity–otherwise known as a mall store–and the last straw was yet another injury because it’s the most unsafe job I’ve ever worked. The injury was due to a coworker’s impulsiveness. I went in the next day to file an incident report for posterity and to put in my notice. I’ve had my day job for a year now and I make enough that I can get along without the extra income. I am FREE! I’m free from customers who think they’re entitled to tell me what to think and disparage me for my medical issues (yes, none of their business but not unnoticeable). 99% of the problem is the ridiculous people who shop there and the managers who defend them. Now I have holidays off with pay, a 4-day weekend over Thanksgiving, and flex time. Why did I stay in retail so long??? The one thing I’m grateful for is that my time there was what got me my current job.
