GSA – Front End Venting
First and foremost, to all Guests and Team Members, I’m sorry for sounding like a broken record about Red Cards. I doubt I’m alone in hating how much it’s being pushed, and pressured. I know that’s now how you want to interact with the guests, nor how most guests would want to be interacted with.
There is a lot of pressure on the Front End, if it is your work station of choice. Upper management is very heavy-handed regarding hearing you talk about Red Cards, keeping busy at all times, and not talking to each other. Even if it is regarding work, it is perceived as socializing.
The Front End is frequently heavily under-staffed, and typically one of the first stations any free bodies are pulled to do other things for. Service Desk no longer works until closing. Carts, restrooms, and all breaks/lunches for food service is covered by the Front End. There is rarely a cart attendant unless it’s a holiday.
If you’re interested in the position of GSA, it’s the same rate of pay as the food service.

The only benefit to being a GSA, or ANYTHING other than a cashier, is that you alone are not expected to pump out those stupid fucking redcards like candy.
The amount of pressure put on the front end is RIDICULOUS, though. And the idiots with corporate still think it's the best fucking thing since sliced bread, so they completely disregard the amount of stress it puts on their employees in the name of profit.
At least give us a goddamn commission, or SOME kind of monetary incentive. We're not grade schoolers, pizza parties and carnivals don't make me any happier or any more okay with pushing debt onto an unsuspecting customer.
walmart gives their employees 4 dollars per card. Better than nothing. The chain tarshit bought the leases from in Canada when they attempted to expand north gave employees 25000 in hbc points per card signed up, if you managed to get 4 , rewards from 4 cards signed up gave you 10 dollars in store credit.
