Finally Done with Target
I have worked for Target for 8 long years and I can tell you what, I am so thankful it is over. I could not begin to tell you all of the frustrations I have incurred over the course of that time. I worked in the pharmacy for the majority of my time and have been trying to get a job as an ETL with them for roughly 6 months. I have been the definition of a model employee and always go above and beyond for not only my fellow employees but the “guests”. Why I bothered to continue trying I will never know. I’ve battled for raises I deserved, job titles I’ve deserved, transfers which should have been easy have been completely messed up to the point where the HR thought it a good idea to just terminate and rehire me instead of doing their job right, and to get hired on as an ETL. So, they tried to tell me there were no job positions available, which is understandable minus the fact that I looked online and saw job postings for well over 8 months. Ouch. Then when I am finally ready to move on to bigger and brighter things and cut ties with them for good, they decide to tell me there is a position open up in the area I want to work. Terrific I think! Dead wrong. It took an entire month to just get through two interviews needing still one more to get hired on with the company. Two weeks pass by after the second interview and no word from any of the recruiters or interviewers I have been in touch with. So, I decide to email the initial person who contacted me regarding the position. Within 5 minutes of sending my email, they respond sorry there has been a change and there will be no more needs at this current time. Thanks a bunch for stringing me along for a month and sapping some more life from me. Their upper management does not have the backbone to bother responding themselves and I believe this describes their current business structure to a T! I know it is wrong to take joy in others misfortunes but every poor thing I read about Target just brings a smile to me. They do not care about work ethic whatsoever and are only concerned with covering their own asses. They would rather see 10 red cards be made or 10 Rx Rewards signed up for than a team member busting their ass to get their job done fast and right.
Also, I love how before you complete the team member survey on your department and the company, the TL’s, ETL’s, and STL;s all tell you not to leave any negative feedback. My interpretation of these survey’s is to show them what is wrong and what needs addressed. Not lie just so they don’t get the heat brought on them. Target can’t handle negative feedback even when it is justly needed to improve the store and the company as a whole. Goodbye Target, I will not miss you for one second. Minus all the free food in the break room. That was kind of nice 😉

Lol free food in the break room.. stale pretzels and cardboard pizza? No thank you. I literally paid $5.00 for a pizza from a Pizza Hut within my Target because the backroom "food" was so nasty.
I agree about the team survey...last year when I took it both my HR and STL were in the room and before I took it, they were influencing me to give positive feedback..and as for the food, most of the shit they'd give us were expired stuff from market..do not miss that shit at all...I miss NOTHING from Target
Both of the times I had to do the best team survey not one single ETL or TL was allowed to be in the room. Which made it better to put negative feedback lol. If I remember correctly the ETL HR did soooo bad last year that they picked out 6 different TM to do the survey again just on the ETL HR. It was kinda funny seeing her sweating it.
I have no idea how on earth you lasted 8 years there. I only lasted about 3 months (tomorrow is my last day) and I almost went crazy there. I HATE working for Target so much that if I can stop one person from working there, I've done my job. The break room did was alright but other than that, I will miss nothing from that store...well, maybe a few cool co workers, but other than that, nothing. I wish I would've known then what I know now because I wouldn't have wasted three months of my life working for them. All the managers and people of higher power at my store are some of the most unprofessional people I've ever met and I'm glad to say, "Good Riddance and fuck you, Target"!!!
Can you please contact me about some questions regarding Target pharmacy operating procedures. I'm being stonewalled in regards to a few things and it would be good to understand store policy so I know what/who (Titles AP ETL or to ask for when doing depositions)
