Target Sucks - We Hate Target and We Know We're Not Alone.

  • I started working at Target about eight years ago. I don’t anymore, but I have tried to come back. It worked twice. It doesn’t anymore. See at the last one I worked at, there were these new hires I was “training”. They told me the merchandise they were told to stock was on the front side of the line, so I walked that direction. Then it was “oops, I meant the other side” so I walked to the other side. It was on the front. They were wrong. After a day of putting up with these kids bragging about World of Warcraft and their rogue characters or whatever it was, then singing “What did the fox say” over and over again, well I was annoyed. I leapt the line. I was tired, didn’t feel like walking back around yet again. Allow me to make something clear. We were never told that jumping over the line was in violation of safety policy (I never heard of it in eight entire years). The only way I learned that was when one of the LODs caught me and told me not to do it. I apologized and said I didn’t know, I would never do it again. The very next day I was taken into the office and written up for that, even after apologizing and vowing never again. How honorable of you, Target.

  • Alright, so there was a company I decided to go over to. This place payed so much better. But the people. They were far worse than Target employees. I’m talking standing around for all breaks and lunches calling each other “f*****s” and describing penis. That was so obnoxious I couldn’t take it anymore. Now with not many options (applying at 60+ places and calling, no call backs despite promises) I applied at Target once again. I just got a rejection letter from those bastards. Me. I’ve been working for this company for a long damn time and they reject me? Now I suppose my vacation periods stand out, because I tend to submit two weeks notice before taking months off at a time. Standard vacation requires a year and the time is small. Add that to the fact my grandmother died and inheritance + policy is something I can relax on for awhile. Not forever. I need work.

I don’t just hate Target. I hate this city.

  • September 22, 2013 - Overheated

    Roasting alive and nitpicking

My first complaint is having two days sliced off my schedule because “we’re not making sales but September will be better.” September rolled around and instead of giving veteran workers more hours, they hired a ton of new guys. Our hours still aren’t up. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have us work longer and NOT hire new people? I’ve been working with Target off and on since 2006. When I went to college and came back, there was no reward for higher education, only “starting wage”. I never saw a raise. Ever.
