I was reluctant to write this but I figured if I could deter even one person from working at Target as cart attendant then I have succeeded.
I started working for target about 2 years ago,(quit just before my 2 years) took the job because I figured I could use some money and experience since it was my first job. The hiring process took about 2 weeks which wasn’t too bad. Although I have heard from several people that the hiring process took at least a month.

I’m a cart attendant and I find all sorts of shit in carts from starbucks cups to diapers, to purses, to unopened food. Now, because I hate seeing perfectly good food go to waste I sometimes eat the said items whether it be a soda or chocolate bar.

I’ve posted here before regarding different issues but I’m back with a new issue.
The last few weeks to my surprise have been quite nice and that’s coming from someone who can’t stop for a single second to take a break because “carts”. However, naturally weekends are always busy and I mean hectic busy. I can’t help but wonder why is it that on the most busy days we only have 1 cart attendant scheduled at a time. Well, here’s my theory surrounding this issue.

I work as a cart attendant. You know the guy who has an absurd amount of work and needs to work at 300% in order to keep up. This rant will be pretty long so hold on to your shit horses, it’s gonna be bumpy.

So, yesterday was probably one of the most interesting days so far. It was yesterday that I heard over the walkie “can someone help a customer on C7?” To which the LOD replied “reminder guys, they are guests nor customers” and boy did I have to just nod my head for a solid minute just to express my distaste for this stupid “guest” bullshit.

Redcards! It’s all you hear at Target now. I work as CA and I always have a walkie on me for (carryouts, carry-ins, restroom checkups, etc) and I’ve noticed a trend amongst GSTLS and LOD’s and other corporate puppets who have lost their ways. I remember talking to a recently new hiree and he asked me (as CA I am forced to learn cashier) when you’re cashier do GSTLS force you to push redcards?

It’s summer down here in Southern California. Temperatures are well within the 95’s. On good days it’s around 84-85. I can tell you right now this is a rant so rant [ON]
