Why are some people gluttons for punishment?

Not sure if this deserves a post on it’s own but

According to that link, some canadian tarshit employees are signing the danged thing. God damn it. Fucking stop signing the thing. Idiots finally can escape the hell hole with a hope of collecting EI and getting revenge for all the tarshit employees got screwed over by Tarshit when they got let go to look for a new job in the job market.  The idiots treated their employees like shit too. Paid them peanuts as well. Why beg them to stay.  Look at as a blessing in disguise. You escaped dumb idiots. Why beg them to stay? Are they the ass suckers who want tarshit to stay? What the hell.

I don’t get it guys. Someone enlighten me. Why are people such gluttons for punishment?

Maybe it's a marketing company they hired to help save their investment.

meh could be. I'm getting the feeling target's not really quitting but really a hoax to lure people into their stores. For the sake of the target employees I hope they really pull out.

That other article you found was from 2011, before they saw what a failure Canada was.

sorry didn't look carefully. But all the same, tarshit is wanting to expand into india. I don't think they've given up on expanding in india.

As recent as last week jan 6th 2015, tarshit has been posting positions in india. Looks like there were postings since september 2014 for job postions at target. It seems like they are still determined to open there lol. Except i wonder if it's going to be an even bigger flop. Most people I've encountered that are of Indian ethnicity are extremely cheap. If they can't succeed in Canada where Canadians don't hesitate to pay for quality, which isn't there in tarshit Canada offerings, how the heck are they going to succeed in a frugal nation?

lol, a frugal nation. I think you're relying on the stereotype and forgetting that it's actually a poverty stricken country, with an economic divide even worse than the US. So it should be interesting to see how long it takes to fail there.

lol, I just checked the walmart flyer and they have a chinese new year flyer and target doesn't have one at all. None this year or last year. No wonder ZELLERS did heck lots better in the same location. They did all the cultural celebrations. Had stock for that exact celebration in store. Target nada in the exact same location.

I hate to say it but a lot of the cheapest people I've met who think we are a bargain shop are people who are in the Middle East region. It's part of their culture over there to bargain while shopping, seriously. They do it here as a normal thing. You're partially correct with the Indians, although I think as admin said that it's more about coming from poverty than anything else.

On an interesting note, my grandmother came over here many moons ago from India during a time when British families were given Indian slaves pretty much as standard procedure. She recalls when she was a little girl being told not to hang on the fence with her gold bracelets on because people walking in the streets might try stealing the bracelets when walking past the yard. No I'm not very Indian (probably no more than 5-6%, although my grandmother has some in her but won't admit it (thanks to being from a time when mixing of the races was frowned upon).

Do not expect enlightenment from target. Once you have drank from the target kool-aid you get used of bending over and taking it up the tail pipe. They are all about style over substance. They are the most media friendly retailer in the USA. Twitter darling, Facebook darling. Who else in the universe can close down over a 100 stores and have there stock price jump up. Here in the States we have been drinking their kool-aid for years. Don't sweat it Silverfox, Canadian's will be off the kool-aid soon

I think maybe half are in the honeymoon phase and half like disgusted and dtlhater can't wait to see the back of tarshit. lol not up here in canada. No one is falling for it. At least not the smart folks. Target keeps shooting itself in it's foot lol. Though they still have some followers no matter how sucky

hmmm, i wonder if target has it's knickers in a knot because canadians aren't drinking their kool-aid like they want us to. And the provincial governments aren't letting them get away with measly 4-6 cent increases and forcing an additional 10 to 75 cent increase. Oh target can't claim it's targeted, after all the min wage rose across the board for everyone.

oh I doubt Canadians especially the vendors will be drinking their cool aid much longer when they find out how much taxes they owe to the govt

My old target has a private Facebook page where they are literally posting daily about how many tears they are shedding over the company closing. I don't get it. Maybe it's because I've done retail before tarshit but if a company turned around and didn't have the balls to at least prep their employees for this announcement before making it (they found out via fucking facebook btw) i sure wouldn't be a delusional moron crying about how sad it is to see the company leave. It's literal cult. I find it hilarious though because they bitched about walmart being the ass of the earth all the time and hilariously enough I've noticed walmart here at least isn't horrible (they've got nice home decor and bedroom stuff, legit was pleasantly surprised. And hey it's fucking stocked) the one in my town is even always neat and organized despite being very busy. Imagine that. I think tarshit spent waaaaaay too much time trying to convince themselves they were better instead of actually being better. All peacock but no dick.

and yes they are really closing- they filed for some asset protection or something-basically it's required by companies in Canada when going bankrupt- their stocks went up because investors have been wanting them to pull the heck out of Canada because it was not making money-essentially the Canadian stores were dragging down targets worth. And having to wait till 2021 to potentially maybe break even? Yeah, they have no real choice when their board of directors have investors breathing down their necks wanting some cash that they were promised. It's just sad though that many Canadian employees are still wearing rose colored glasses and not realizing that tarshit gives no fucks about any of them (again- didn't have the balls to let employees know before hand). Like waaaaay to fuck over 17,600 people and their livelihoods.

Oh to be clear these employees aren't posting about how sad they are to be losing their jobs (not all anyways) majority seems to be all "woe is us- losing our target family HUGS GUYz best team eva!" And the assorted lunacy and narcissism that comes with Targets weird as fuck team mentality. Le sigh. I just have so many feelings. I am ticked that they have screwed over many of my friends and what not but wish that these employees realized that this retail company isn't a unicorn of awesomeness. The uniform has khaki ffs, the staple of boring basic generic attire... I can't with the cult mentality.

I thought for one that target even if dying they'll never give up the good fight to walmart. We must win against walmart and all that. Walmart took nearly 9 years before they saw a profit. And they didn't cut and run like target did. So it's about the same approx time frame target needs to wait before seeing a profit. Sorta like wind's investors. Expected a profit very quickly. Start ups take a while to be viable these days.

It's really sad tbh. They are currently perplexed as to why customers are pissed that the liquidation prices were 5-30% off store wide (with only women's clothing being 30% off). It's like "that's not a closing sale? That's an average day at target" but they legit are upset that customers are annoyed.
