Unfair scheduling

Let me start by apologizing for this vent but I really need some help here…

I’ve worked for target now going on 5 years.I am now and have always been a guest service attendant. My availability has always been open because,I don’t have a reason to close it.However I am being treated unfairly when it comes to the schedule.I don’t know if other ppl in different departments face this issue because, like I stated I’ve only worked at the service desk. There has been many ppl come and go behind that desk and now we only have a limited number of ppl.As far back as September I’ve been the ONLY person who closes Saturday and Sunday nights. It is especially annoying now that,my store officially closes at 12am every Saturday! There are two other girls that can close Saturday night, but every time there’s a new schedule posted there I am the closing person! You can imagine being 22 years old with a child, and always having to be at work til closing weekend after weekend.I’ve spoken to manager after manager and all that has gotten me was a “we’re sorry we didn’t know” and I’ll admit I had maybe 2 opening Saturday shifts. While other ppl that work service desk get entire weekends off.I also tried recently to change my availability but it was denied with a note reading “we are unable to do this at the time”.I am fed up with this bullshit scheduling.I am at the end of my rope and I don’t know what else to do.Some advice PLEASE?!

In being in the front end, you have a choice to be cashier also and cart attendant. Being a cashier would open far more hours available to you. I've been a cashier for almost 8 years now. I started at 8AM to 11PM close. Than went to 12PM to 11PM close. As a cashier the HR guys back behind the desks in the main clock in area, not the HR single guy, but the two or more guys behind the desk wall talk to them after becoming a cashier to change schedule and it more than likely passes as it always has for me as a cashier.
