Treat you like children
Yes, I get it. ETL’s are being pressured into pressuring others into getting red cards.
You know, I don’t actually mind the ETL’s at my store. Outside of 2, every one I’ve had has been friendly enough, and treated those who actually showed up ready to work and caring great.
Heck, I’m a team lead myself, been at target for just over 2 years now, still only 20 years old, only job I’ve ever had. It really isn’t that bad, and well I feel overworked, and under appreciated, I think my store is highly rated for a reason.
ALL of this being said: Those 2 ETL’s I mentioned above…One is actually the STL actually. Holy cow, are they awful at communicating like actual human beings. What is it with some people and being robotic? I think the store does well because the majority of its leaders are just that; leaders. You come to work WANTING TO WORK FOR THEM.
These other two? The complete opposite. And it’s amazing how many different people feel this way. New team members, old team members. 17 year olds, 60 year olds. I’ve heard it from most everyone.
Do these Two know? Probably. Do they care? Probably not.
They have a priority list; and that priority is to get as many red cards/green surveys/sales #’s as they can, for their own personal blame.
In many ways, I DON’T BLAME THEM. If I were an STL, I’d do whatever it takes to be promoted as well.
But must they do it so ridiculously? Must they treat specific team members like SHIT over the walkie for all to hear? Must they milk the living shit out of the hardworking team members? Must they show up to work with ZERO personality EVERY SINGLE DAY.
They look at everyone else like CHILDREN. Yes, there are plenty of awful, immature coworkers I know about, but looking at everyone EARNING YOU BONUSES as elementary schoolers isn’t a good look.
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND GIVES A FLYING SHIT IF YOU “HULA HOOP FOR THE PERSON WHO GETS THE MOST REDCARDS IN THE DAY”?
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND CARES THAT YOU’LL WEAR SOME STUPID HAT IF I GET A REDCARD IN THE NEXT HOUR?
I’ll tell you who. CHILDREN. Guess how many children work at target. ZERO.
You know how you make it in this company? You give the ETL’s a FAKE ASS SMILE all day, and do whatever they don’t feel like doing. It isn’t that hard when the ETL’s are actual human beings, whom can hold normal conversation with you.
Those ETL’s continue to slowly leave this hellhole.
Pretty soon, it’ll be a store full of robots.
